Allen Harris Jr.
ODESSA — Mr. Allen Harris Jr. was born July 2, 1915, to Mr. and Mrs. Allen Harris Sr. in Mount Pleasant. He later met Clarine Porque at an early age and they were united in marriage Oct. 30, 1937, in Mount Vernon. Mr. Harris was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church of Mount Vernon. He served as an ordained deacon at Olton Baptist Church of Olton and remained faithful to his church. He also gave his service of employment as a maintenance supervisor of Hereford Elementary and other school systems.
Surviving are his daughters, Alice F. Mitchem of Albuquerque, N.M., Barbara M. Morgan of Clovis, N.M., Fletta N. Douglas of Odessa and Eunice M. Harris of Dallas; sons, Johnny R. Harris of Fort Worth, Travis W. Harris of Dallas, Benny E. Harris of Albuquerque, Jerry W. Harris of Newport, Tenn., Danny G. Harris of Corsicana, James E. Harris of Odessa and Marvin A. Harris of Fulton, Mo.; brothers, John A. Harris and A.J. Harris, both of Sulfur Springs, and Gloss “Red” Harris of South Bend, Ind.; sisters, Clarsees Harris and Ola Lamb, both of Phoenix, Era Boyd and Letha Wilson, both of Dallas; 38 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Tatum. Graveside services are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Restlawn cemetery in Hereford.

H. Ross Jones
ODESSA — H. Ross Jones, 81, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at a local nursing home.
He was born March 1, 1919, in Teague. He married
Freddie Mae Power Dec. 24, 1942, in Big Spring. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force. He moved to Odessa in 1942. Mr. Hubbard was the first person he met when he came to Odessa, and they had a long and lasting friendship. Mr. Jones was a member of Belmont Baptist Church for 40 years where he had served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was chairman of the deacons for one term. He was retired district manager for Teledyne Merla. He was a well loved husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ross and Clara Jones, two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors are his wife, Freddie Mae Jones of Odessa; daughter, Nancy Sherian Jones of Odessa; brothers, James L. Jones of Pasadena; and sister, Mary Pryor of Teague.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Belmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Anne Bradley
GATESVILLE — Anne Schaub Bradley, 65, of Gatesville, a retired teacher, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Steve Dominy and Larry Van Zile officiating. Burial will follow at Restland cemetery. Arrangements by Gatesville Funeral Home.
She was born in Gatesville. She was Baptist.

Vernon Busby
ANDREWS — Vernon “Buck” Busby, 72, of Andrews, retired owner of a shoe shining business in Andrews, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Midland Terrace Nursing Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McNett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Camron Givin officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Freestone County and had been a resident of Kermit before moving to Andrews more than 30 years ago. He was Methodist.

Cruz Franco
OJINAGA, Mexico — Cruz Franco, 87, of McCamey, a retired rancher, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at McCamey Nursing Home.
Services will be Wednesday in Ojinaga, Mexico. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
He was born in Indio. He was Catholic.

Sidney Lanier
MIDLAND — Sidney Lanier, 88, of Midland, retired owner of Basin Well Service, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at his residence.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Sulphur Springs City cemetery in Sulphur Springs. Arrangements by Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.
He was born in Sulphur Springs and moved to Midland in 1937.

Allen Moore
SEMINOLE — Allen Dale “Bud” Moore, 43, of Gonzales, an oilfield mechanic, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, in Gonzales.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Community Chapel. Burial will follow at Gaines County cemetery South. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.
He was born in Olton and had been a resident of Seminole.

Richard Norris
ODESSA — Richard Hale Norris, 63, of Odessa, a mechanic, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at his residence.

He was born in Goldsboro and moved to Odessa from San Angelo in 1980. He was Baptist.

Jerry Saathoff
ALPINE — C. Jerry Saathoff, 57, of Alpine, a tile setter, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, in Alpine.

He was born in San Antonio.

Alicia Cardona
LUBBOCK — Alicia Cardona was born June 21, 1937, in Eldorado and had been a resident of Odessa.
She is survived by four sons, Martin Chavez, Juan Cardona, Jessie Lee Munoz and Santos Cardona; a daughter, Natividad Cardona; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Templo El Redentor. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Templo El Redentor with Vicente Violon officiating. Burial will be at Peaceful Garden cemetery. Arrangements by Guajardo Funeral Chapel.
Minnie Alice Sloan Harris
SONORA — Alice Harris, 85, died Sunday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2000, at a Kerrville nursing home. She had been a resident of Sonora for about two years prior to moving to Kerrville but had lived in Odessa since November of 1947.
Alice was born Nov. 25, Thanksgiving Day, 1915, in Wewoka, Okla., to Nancy and Sydney Sloan. She married
T.J. “Jack” Harris Feb. 18, 1935, in Wellington. They had two sons, the Rev. Ted W. Harris of Sonora and R.J. “Ron” Harris of Atlanta.
Jack Harris preceded her in death in 1998.
Besides her sons, Alice is survived by seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at the First United Methodist Church of Odessa followed by burial at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The Rev. Steve Trout will be officiating. Special music will be offered by Harriet Berlin. Arrangements are by Kerbow Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Alicia Harris, Cassandra Harris Burris, Wayne Harris, Tom Harris, Don Burris and Conan Millsap.
Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Odessa or St. John’s Episcopal Church of Sonora.
