Willie Isabell Fulton
ELECTRA — Our Lord and Savior came and gently took our precious mother and grandmother to her heavenly home Nov. 7, 2000.
Willie Isabell Fulton was born Oct. 25, 1910, to James Thomas and Beulah Perry Bryant in Goldthwaithe. At the age of six, her family moved to Electra where she attended school and later met her husband, Henry Newton “Buck” Fulton. They were married
Nov. 20, 1927. Because of their children’s attendance at a small neighborhood church, she and her husband accepted the Lord as their Savior in 1936. They became charter members of this fellowship, which later became known as the Bible Baptist Church. She became a widow at the young age of 39 and devoted the rest of her life caring for her family and loved ones.
In 1989, due to her failing health, she moved to West Texas to live with her daughter, Virginia. She had resided at Seabury Nursing Home in Odessa since September 1994, where she was loved and adored by all who knew her. Virginia was a full time volunteer there so that she could be close to her mother and help care for her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Tice, father, husband, a sister, Zelma Lee Miller, and a brother, Horace Bryant.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathrin Ward and husband Marcus of Electra and Virginia Jennings Thomasson and husband Tommy of Gardendale; and a son, Tommy Fulton and wife Wilma of Midland.
She was a loving “Big Mama” to her 13 grandchildren, six of whom live in the Gardendale-Odessa area. They are Cindy Jennings Cooper, Marvin Jennings Jr., Ricky Jennings, Martha Jennings Lemons, Nancy Fulton McCain and Tommy Fulton Jr. She also had 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
As we look back on her life, we are filled with love, respect, and admiration for this special lady. Her family and friends will remember her for her kindness and unconditional love.
Services were held Nov. 9, 2000 in Electra.
