KINGSLAND — Cecil Maurine Coker, 88, of Kingsland, a homemaker, died Thursday, July 13, 2000, in Kingsland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel in Kinglsand with the Rev. Jack Whyburn officiating. Burial will be at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.
She was born in Baird. She lived in Kingsland for 33 years. She was Baptist.

Howard Hagood
KERMIT — Howard Hagood, 51, of Kermit, a mechanic, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, in Balmorhea.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Eastside Church of Christ with Brian McGonagill officiating. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.
He was born in Roscoe. He lived in Kermit for 40 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

ANDREWS — Diana Hale, 62, of Andrews, a former Commercial State Bank employee, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Permian General Hospital.

She was born in Grand Saline. She lived Andrews for 54 years.

He was born in Davenport, Okla.He lived in Odessa for 23 years. He was Baptist.

ODESSA — Jean Hudson Page, 75, of Odessa, a retired bookkeeping supervisor, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at her home.

She was born in Ovalo. She lived in Odessa for 45 years.

Esther McKeehan
ODESSA — Esther McKeehan, 67, of Odessa, a member of the West Texas Cat Club, died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at her home in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Lynn Money officiating.
She loved cats. She also enjoyed cooking.

Mozelle Windwehen
PLAINVIEW — Mozelle Windwehen, 91, of Andrews, a former elementary school principal, died Sunday, July 16, 2000, at Permian General Hospital.

She was born in Gonzales. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a master’s degree in administration. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She also taught Sunday school at her church. She was Baptist.

Jack Williams
ODESSA — Jack Williams, 73, of Odessa, died Thursday at his home in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Ector County cemetery.
He worked at a book store. He was born in Oklahoma.

Vera Edythe Weddle
ODESSA — Vera Edythe Weddle, 92, of Odessa passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.
There will be public viewing from 2 p.m. today through Saturday evening at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Mrs. Weddle was born Oct. 30, 1908, in Bennington, Kans. She grew up in Bennington and graduated from Bennington High School. She was a retired sales clerk and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Weddle, Aug. 31, 1995.
Survivors are a sister, Gladys A. McGuire of Glendora, Calif.; a nephew, Dennis L. McGuire of Chino Hills, Calif.; and several cousins in Salina, Kans.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at the Roselawn cemetery in Salina, Kans.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Lindy Lee Brown
ODESSA — Lindy Lee Brown, 12, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at a local hospital.
Lindy was born May 13, 1988, in Odessa. She attended Nimitz Junior High School and was in the band. She loved to swim and cook and enjoyed wildflowers, her family and special occasions. She will be remembered as a special and happy little girl.
She is survived by her parents, John O. and Lori Brown of Odessa; paternal grandparents, Nell and David Waldrip of Odessa and John E. Brown of Odessa; maternal grandparents, Larry Clevenger of Kalamazoo, Mich.; maternal great-grandmother, Virginia Westfall of Odessa; sister, Robin Lynn Brown of Odessa; aunts and uncles, Lisa Hall, Jay and Lisa Brown, Rick and Peggy Westfall, Mark and Debbie Westfall and Jean Clevenger; and 15 cousins.
Public visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Westfall officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Joe G. Roper
Joe G. Roper, our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather went with Jesus to heaven on January 26, 2001. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services have been scheduled for 3 p.m., Monday, Jan. 29, at Golf Course Road Church of Christ with Ronnie White officiating. Internment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born July 15, 1928 in Henrietta, Texas to Jesse Lair and Martha Esther Roper. On July 3, 1949, he married
Julia Rose Johnson, the love of his life.
He and Tom Brown, his lifelong friend, began as partners in 1955. They founded Tom Brown, Inc. and later TMBR/Sharp Drilling, Inc. He was president and director of TMBR/Sharp Drilling, Inc. at the time of his death. He was the recipient of the 2000 Hearst Energy Award for a lifetime achievement to the oil and gas industry.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. Survivors include his son, Mark Roper of Austin; his three daughters, Kathi Roper of Midland, Patricia Elledge of Midland, and Jeanie Cornelius of Weatherford; two brothers, Johnnie Roper of Odessa and Bill Roper of Bryson; four sisters, Imogene Heck of Vancouver, Wash., Pat Johnson of Henrietta, Clarice Scarber of Bowie, and Katherine Spivey of Joy, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was so fortunate to have the most loyal friends who gave him endless strength during his illness. Tom Brown, Joe Henderson, Ed Davis and Dave Fitzgerald supported him through their friendship in a way that cannot be expressed with words. He was greatly blessed by their constant presence. He was also blessed by a few angels sent from heaven. Manny and Laura Villarreal, Carlos Anguiano, Manuel Lebario and Liz Olson were his caretakers during his illness, and their relationship developed into a cherished friendship. The family also expresses heartfelt appreciation to Hospice of Midland.
Pallbearers will be Todd Roper, Taylor Callaway, Joel Callaway, Kacey Cornelius, Kerry Cornelius and Mark Elledge. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Davis, Dave Fitzgerald, Tom Brown, Joe Henderson, Jim Lingle, Jeff Phillips, Jim O’Briant and Jim Alsup.
