George F. Anderson
George F. Anderson, 54, passed away Jan. 27, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born Sept. 26, 1946 in Odessa, Texas. He graduated from Odessa High School where he was a band member and became the band’s drum major. He managed several of the area clubs and at present was the assistant manager for Town and Country Store no. 188 on Interstate 20.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Inez and W.W. Andy Anderson. He is survived by brother, W.W. Sonny Anderson and his wife, Mary Lou of Odessa; sisters, LaQuinta Hicks and her husband, Charles of Big Valley, Texas, Minnie Ruth Graves of Odessa, and Gail Eppler and her husband, Jim of London, Texas; and his companion of 25 years, Silvestre Huerta of Odessa.
Visitation will begin today at 11 a.m. at Odessa Funeral Home. Graveside services have been set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 at Rose Hill cemetery. Services by Odessa Funeral Home.
Amy Ledford
Our loving mother and grandmother, Amy Ledford went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 26 in Borger, Texas. She was born Nov. 11 1903 in Coryell County, Texas.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29 in the Chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Tommy Breznik officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Ledford and her family moved from De Leon to Odessa in 1948. She was a piano teacher in Odessa for many years and a longtime member of First Baptist Church Odessa. She was a joy to all who knew her, and always had a smile and words of encouragement for those she met. She will be missed greatly by her family and her friends at Lincoln Towers Retirement Center.
Survivors are son, Roland Ledford and his wife, Sarah of Fritch, Texas; two sisters, Lula Ragland of De Leon, Texas and Mamie Lee-Wilson of Austin; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Marvin Herschel Carter
MIDLAND — Marvin Herschel Carter, 77, formerly of Midland, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at his home in Harlingen.
Military graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Lane Boyd of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Highway.
Mr. Carter was born April 11, 1923, in Cleburne to Clara Long and Marvin Carter. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1941 at the age of 18 and served in World War II.
He married
Elsie Baker on Jan. 4, 1947, in Midland.
He worked at South-western Bell Telephone Company for 36-and-a-half years. Upon retiring in 1981, he moved to Lake Brownwood, where he lived for five years. He then moved to Lake LBJ and lived at Blue Lake Estates for 14 years.
He and his wife moved to Harlingen in March.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marble Falls and a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Midland.
He worked with the Buffalo Trail Council of the Boy Scouts in Midland and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He also was a lifetime member of the American Legion.
He was well liked by everyone and loved by his family.
If life is measured by how many friends you have, he had a good life. He was a hardworking man and loved his family. He will be missed, but always remembered and loved.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Baker Carter of Harlingen; four children, Cynthia Carter Cuny, and her husband, Matthew E. Cuny, of Greenville, Carolyn Carter Wilson and her husband, Danny L. Wilson, of Midland, Rick E. Carter and his wife, Sherree Shields Carter, of Odessa, and Michael G. Carter and his wife, Kari Carter, of Grand Junction, Colo.; nine grandchildren, Mitzi Crabtree, and her husband Scott, of Grand Junction, Colo.; Jeanna Cuny of Odessa; Laura Wilson of Midland; Allison Carter of Odessa; Daniel Wilson of Midland; Janice Cuny of Greenville; Cory Carter of Odessa; and Austin and Michael Carter of Grand Junction, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 437 in Kingsland.

Ethel Irene Mueller
ODESSA — Ethel Irene Mueller, 69, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at her residence in Odessa. Ethel was born May 1, 1931, in St. Louis, Mo., to Edward W. and Mary E. Keller. She graduated from St. Elizabeth Academy in 1949 and attended St. Louis University. She married
William John Mueller of Valley Park, Mo., June 14, 1952. In January 1965, Ethel and her family moved to Odessa. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and provided many years of caring service to the school children of St. Mary’s Central Catholic School.
Ethel devoted her life to the happiness and well-being of her family. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and especially held a passion for cruises. Her always cheerful and positive outlook was an inspiration to all.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Teresa “Terry” McManigle-Jones and husband Gregory K. M. Jones of Rodbourne, England; sons, Kenneth J. Mueller of Fort Worth and Wayne S. Mueller and wife Kathleen Gilchrist Mueller of San Antonio; grandsons, Robert E. Mueller and Eric L. Mueller, both of Coppell; sisters-in-law, Marilyn T. Bridge and husband John J. Bridge of Morton, Ill., and Eleanor M. Epperson and husband Harold J. Epperson of Valley Park, Mo.; brother-in-law, Richard P. Mueller of Odessa; three nieces; and two nephews.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Frey, celebrant. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Dave Nunley
ODESSA — Services for Dave Nunley, 68, of Odessa, are scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Nunley died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born April 4, 1932, in Quinlan.
Mr. Nunley moved to Odessa in 1953 from Graham. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Company from 1953 to 1970. In 1970, he started Tex-Line Inc. and owned and operated it until his retirement in 1986. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Keasler, in 1983 and his parents, John and Julia Nunley.
Survivors include his son, Dave Nunley Jr. and wife Rene of Kenai, Alaska; daughters, Jeanenne Sandel and husband Joe of Kenai, Christina Coffee and husband Robert of Odessa, Denise Pool and husband Tom of Kenai and Jill Thomas and husband Paul of Abilene; brother, John Nunley Jr. and wife Bobby of Graham; 15 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Eloise Bennett
IRAAN — Eloise Bennett, 95, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at the McCamey Convalescent Center.
A graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Restland cemetery in Iraan with the Rev. Joel Barrett officiating. All services are under the direction of Richard W. Box Funeral Home of Iraan.
Eloise was born May 22, 1905, in Gorman to William Franklin and Genie Allen Bennett. She graduated from Stephenville High School in 1923. She attended John Tarleton Agriculture College in Stephenville.
Eloise lived for many years in Fort Worth and was employed as the executive secretary of Tom’s Toasted Peanuts. Eloise was a founding member and past president of the Rigdelea Business and Professional Women’s Club. Prior to leaving Fort Worth in 1968, Eloise was an independent realtor.
Eloise left Fort Worth and moved to Iraan in 1968 to help care for her aging parents and Aunt Joe Allen. Eloise worked for Rye Supply Company Inc. until her final retirement in 1981. Eloise had been cared for by the McCamey Convalescent Center since September of 1999.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Allen, Gene “Chilie” and Bill; and three sisters, Mabel Claire, Evelyn and Virginia “Betty” Rylander.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, C.R. “Rye” Rylander of Iraan; nephews, Gene Bennett Jr. of Reno, Nev., Bill Bennett of Austin, Rick Rylander of Iraan, Mark Bennett of Odessa and Chris Bennett of Lewisville; nieces, Jane Carter of Roby and Cindy Lutz of Iraan; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Memorials in her name can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Iraan.
Pallbearers will be great-nephews Brian Lutz, Brent Lutz, Ryan Rylander, Drew Rylander, Cory Rylander, Travis Bennett and special friend Scott Dunlap.
Gene W. Harrison
ODESSA — Services for Gene W. Harrison, 80, of Odessa, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Revs. Dr. Bill Percy, L.D. Green and Owen Sharp officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Harrison died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at Deerings Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 16, 1920, in Caddo. He married
Dorothy Matlock Sept. 21, 1941, in Breckenridge.
Mr. Harrison first came to Odessa in 1950 and traveled with the oilfield from town to town and moved back to Odessa in 1977 when he retired. He was a pump supervisor for Reading and Bates Company. He was a member of Vine Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the Community Care Hospice staff and extend special thanks to Manuel and Brenda.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Harrison of Odessa; son, Steve Harrison of Odessa; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews.

Betty Carr
STEPHENVILLE — Betty Mae Carr, 93, of Stephenville, a retired sales clerk, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Canterbury Villa Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gardens of Memory cemetery with the Rev. Dale Cartright officiating. Arrangements by Lacy Funeral Home.
She was born in Scottsville, Ky., and had lived in Stephenville for 30 years after moving from Odessa. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Gaylord Hanes of Waco; daughter, Roberta J. Walters of Arlington; and five grandchildren.
Henry Folmar
KERMIT — Henry L. Folmar, 68, of Kermit, a retired truck driver, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Terry Folmar and Dr. Weeks Dubose officiating. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc.
He was born in Eclectic, Ala., and was a 35-year resident of Kermit. He was an Army veteran. He was Baptist.
