ODESSA - J.D. Elrod, 66, of Odessa, an oilfield worker, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

He was born in Lamesa and moved to Odessa in the late 1950s. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Moneke Elrod of Odessa; daughter, Donna Lynn of California; brothers, Willard Elrod and Noble Elrod, both of Odessa, and Calvin Elrod of Houston; sisters, Mamie Lee White of Ashville, N.C., Mozelle Dees of Oklahoma, Mildred Sullivan of Alex, Okla., and Bernice Baze of Odessa; and two grandchildren.

Jack Hankins

BOWIE - Jack Weldon Hankins, 77, of Stanton, a field superintendent for Mobil Oil and part-time Martin County deputy sheriff, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at an Odessa hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home Chapel in Bowie. Burial will be at Bowie Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.

He was born in Bowie. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Wanda Hankins of Stanton; daughters, Sherry Sebastian of Monahans and Kaylynne Lucas of Stanton; and four grandchildren.

Ruth Hatcher

ANDREWS - Ruth M. Hatcher, 79, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Andrews Health Care Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Gunter officiating. Burial will be at Andrews West cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in Graves County, Ky. She moved to Andrews in 1955 from Big Lake. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Pat Hatcher of Houston and Johnny Hatcher of Austin; brother, George H. Magnor Jr. of Copperas Cove; and four grandchildren.

Joe Lawrence

ROTAN - Joe Don Lawrence, 65, of Rotan, a welder, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at a Fisher County Hospital.

Services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Holder officiating. Burial will be at Belvieu cemetery. Arrangements by Weathersbee Funeral Home.

He was born in Bonham. He lived in Odessa for 47 years before moving to Brownwood. He was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Patsy Blunt Lawrence of Rotan; daughters, Shirley Griffice of Odessa and Sharon Berg of Wichita Falls; son, Jimmy Lawrence of Odessa; sisters, Ruby Vassar of Mexia, Reva Lawson and Kathy Niblack, both of McGregor, and Virginia Howard of Forney; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Marcella McCabe

BIG SPRING - Marcella King McCabe, 86, of Big Spring, an artist, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at an Odessa hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with Ed Williamson officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home.

She was born in Big Spring and was a lifelong resident. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Jerry Fuqua of Midland; daughters, Jean Sneed and Eddie Johnson, both of Odessa; sister, Pauline Pearce of Odessa; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Harry Wayland

JAL, N.M. - Harry Wayland, 73, of Jal, N.M., a camp maintenance worker for El Paso Natural Gas., died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Covenant Lakeside Hospital in Lubbock.

Services will be at 2 p.m. MST at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Alan Speed officiating. Burial will be at Jal cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel of Kermit.

He was born in Boston, Mass. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Larry Wayland of Brownfield; daughters, Sue Barnes and Padgett Alexander, both of Hobbs, N.M., and Frankie Griggs of Liberal, Kan.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

DALLAS - Jerry Wayne Frederick, 38, of Odessa, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

ODESSA - Rebecca Huitron, 23, of Odessa, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

He was born in Blackwell. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was Baptist.
