ANDREWS - Broxie Dillard, 90, of Arlington, a homemaker, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at Arlington Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Means Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie Marcum officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews West cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in McCaskill, Ark., and moved to Andrews from Frankel City in 1962. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Bob Dillard of Fort Worth; daughters, Barbara Cowley and Brenda Beauchamp, both of Arlington; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Susan Haney

ODESSA - Susan O. Haney, 41, of Odessa, a self-employed manager in retail sales, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Odessa. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Saul V. Haney of Odessa; son, Ralph Sanchez of Odessa; daughter, Sue Ann Nevarez of Odessa; parents, Candelario and Juana Sanchez of Odessa; brothers, Richard Ortiz of Midland and Danny Ortiz of Odessa; and two grandchildren.

Ellen Luckey

ODESSA - Ellen Turner Luckey, 102, of Odessa died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services are pending with Odessa Funeral Home.

ODESSA - Tomasa Navarrete, 58, of Odessa died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

James Bates

ALPINE - James B. Bates, 88, of Alpine, a retired tool and dye supervisor for General Motors Co. in Pittsburgh, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Big Bend Regional Medical Center Hospital in Alpine.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Garman officiating. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.

He was born in Borgland, Mich. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Elizabeth Bates of Alpine; and sisters, Elizabeth Schmidt and Shirley Young, both of California, and Nancy Singer of Venoc, France.

Mary Brownlee

PECOS - Mary A. Brownlee, 76, of Pecos, a retired lab technician, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Reeves County Hospital in Pecos.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Fairview cemetery with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

She was born in Pecos. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Brother, Floyd Brownlee Jr. of Pecos; and sisters, Gail Murray of Houston, Geraldine Reed of Midland and Midge Halsell of Denton.

Ethel Dockery-Hillard

FORT DAVIS - Ethel Sarah Dockery-Hillard, 70, of Fort Davis Mountain Resort, a homemaker, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at her residence.

Services will be at a later date in Murphy, N.C. Arrangements by Townsend-Rose Funeral Home.

She was born in Cherokee County, N.C. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Walt Hillard of Fort Davis; daughters, Robin Hancock of Monroe, N.C., Tonya Anjard and Shena Baylog, both of Kansas City, Kan.; brothers, Steve Dockery, Frank Dockery, Albert Dockery and Roy Dockery, all of Murphy; sister, Lena Owens of Kingman, Ariz.; and 13 grandchildren.

Mavis Hainline

VERNON - Mavis Ann Hainline, 88, of Iowa Park, a former employee of Goldfeder’s Department Store in Vernon, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at her residence.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Eastview cemetery with the Rev. John Payne officiating. Arrangements by Sullivan Funeral Home.

She was born in Honey Grove and had been a resident of Vernon and Wichita Falls before moving to Iowa Park.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Patsy Ramsey of Vernon; sister, Ileta Marie Schrimsher of Odessa; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Orville Newcomb

DE LEON - Orville Newcomb, 81, of Gorman, a retired mechanic for Ford Motor Co., died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at his residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Christian Church with the Rev. Lenward Caraway officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley cemetery in Brown County. Arrangements by Nowlin Funeral Home.

He was born in May, Texas, and had been a resident of De Leon for 21 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Christian.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Mary Virginia Newcomb of De Leon; sons, Gerald Lynn Newcomb of Odessa and William Ira Newcomb of Norman, Okla.; daughter, Judy Gayle Carnes of Norman; sister, Mary Harris of Brownwood; three granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.

Lou Taylor Reid

ALPINE - Lou Taylor Reid, 94, of Alpine, a retired teacher, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at a Fort Stockton nursing home.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ed Waddill officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove cemetery. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.

She was born in Frisco and was a longtime resident of Alpine. She was Presbyterian.

SURVIVOR: Sister, Nell Taylor Grauke of Fredericksburg.

MIDLAND - Rodrigo Muniz, 35, of Kermit died Monday, March 19, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.

ANDREWS - Derotha “Dee” Williamson Burns, 88, of Abilene, a retired sales clerk, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at Sears Methodist Center in Abilene.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alan Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

She was born in Stephenville and had been a resident of Andrews for 45 years before moving to Abilene. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Dale Williamson of Abilene and Glen R. Williamson of Hobbs, N.M.; daughter, Yvonne Hightower of Fort Worth; brother, Ray Kirkland of Austin; sister, Lois Couch of Seymour; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
