SLATON - Pedro Rendon Ruiz, 56, of Odessa, a machinist, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Englewood cemetery. Arrangements by Englund Funeral Service.

He had been a resident of Odessa since 1980. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Adelina Ruiz; daughter, Dorinda Ruiz of Lubbock, brothers, Pablo Ruiz of Shelton, Neb., Benito, Steve and Lupe Ruiz, all of Slaton, Jesse Ruiz of Buffalo and Tony Ruiz of Lubbock; and sisters, Mary Leyva, Teresa Guerra and Sarah Gonzales, all of Slaton, and Josie Valdez of Granbury.

Bobby Wray Stanford

ANDREWS - Bobby Wray Stanford, 68, of Andrews died Saturday, March 17, 2001 at his residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ted Short officiating. Burial will be in Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born in Eastland County and moved to Andrews in 1979 from Kermit.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Pat Stanford; sons, Tony, Allen and Jay Stanford, all of Andrews; daughters, Kelly Patrice McEwen and Lissa Moore, both of Andrews; brother, Billy Stanford of Odessa; sisters, Bessie Peevey of Gardendale and Joy Maddux of Odessa; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Varner ‘B’ Stevens

ODESSA - Varner "B" Stevens, 86, of Odessa, a retired Postmaster, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Parks Retirement Village.

Services are at 10 a.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Childress cemetery. Odessa arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home and Johnson Funeral Home in Childress.

He was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Leonora Cawthon of Brownfield; son, Preston Stevens of Odessa; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

R.C. ‘Bud’ Yancy

ANDREWS - R.C. "Bud" Yancy, 74, of Andrews, a retired employee of Gulf Oil Company, died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Permian General Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. A.D. Kelm officiating. Burial will be in Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born in Brackettville and moved to Andrews in 1948 from Ozona. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Anita Terry Yancy; daughters, Jody Streicher-Oxley and Kimberly Yancy, both of Andrews; brothers, James Yancy of Stockton, Calif., and Travis Yancy of Austin; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Guadalupe Duarte

FORT STOCKTON - Guadalupe Espino Duarte, 81, of Fort Stockton, a homemaker, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, in Fort Stockton.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Fort Stockton Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Fort Stockton and was a lifelong resident. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Ysabel Duarte Sr. of Fort Stockton; son, Y.E. "Chel" Duarte of Sanderson; daughters, Olga Acosta of Del Rio and Angie Chavez of Fort Stockton; brothers, Jesus Espino and Joe Espino, both of Fort Stockton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Juan Jasso

ODESSA - Juan Leyva "Papo" Jasso, 72, of Odessa, a retired laborer, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at his residence.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilberto Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Coyame, Mexico. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Esther Olivas Jasso of Odessa; sons, Johnny Jasso, Sesario Jasso and Jesse Jasso, all of Odessa; daughters, Lina Subia, Diana Ramirez and Norma Mancha, all of Odessa; sisters, Sofia Jasso and Angela Arroyo, both of Chihuahua, Mexico; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Ray Mayes

ODESSA - Ray Mayes, 56, of Andrews, a retired employee of Big Spring State School, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Hospice House.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Marcum officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born in Powderly. He was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Parents, Travis and Exie Teague of Andrews; brothers, Curtis Mayes of Tulsa, Okla., and Ronnie Teague of Odessa; and sister, Linda Tolson of Andrews.

Jose Rodriquez

SEAGRAVES - Jose Luis Rodriquez, 53, of Seagraves, an oilfield worker, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, in Galveston.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Templo Sendero de la Luz A/G with the Rev. Ovidio Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at the Seagraves cemetery. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

He was born in Pecos and was a resident before moving to Seagraves 18 years ago.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Mari Louisa Rodriquez of Pecos; sister, Anna Rodriquez of San Antonio; and a grandchild.

Antonio Sandate Sr.

MIDLAND - Antonio H. "Cheetah" Sandate Sr., 66, of Midland, a retired employee of Greentree County Club, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at his residence.

Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerome Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview cemetery. Arrangements by Reyes-Garcia Funeral Home.

He was born in Shafter and was a longtime resident of Midland. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Andrea Menchaca Sandate of Midland; sons, Oscar Sandate and Antonio Sandate Jr., both of Midland; daughters, Yolanda Portillo, Shelia Madrid, Maria Madrid and Alicia Gonzales, all of Midland, and Teresa Tello of Stanton; brother, Vicente Sandate of Odessa; sisters, Lucia Macias, Guadalupe Revelez, Valentina Sandate, Dominga Reyes and Josephia Passalacqua, all of Midland; 27 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

ANDREWS - "Big" Jim Anderson, 58, of Andrews, a retired oilfield salesman, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leo Copeland of Seminole officiating. Burial will follow at Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements are with McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.

He was born in Drumright, Okla. He moved to Andrews in 1972 from Hobbs, N.M.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Wilma Anderson of Andrews; son, Ashley Anderson of Andrews; brothers, Leon Anderson of Hobbs, N.M., and Dale Anderson of Irving; sister, Erma Downs of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

Nena Beth Brock

ODESSA - Nena Beth Brock, 74, of Odessa died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in a local hospital.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Marquez and was a longtime resident of Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Sons, Warren Douglas Carruth of Alamosa, Colo., Billy Ray Carruth of Walsenburg, Colo., and Floyd Carruth of Alamosa, Colo.; daughters, Beverly Henderson of San Angelo and Dyanne Reagan of Redman, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Emma Lou Thomas Davidson

McCAMEY - Emma Lou Thomas Davidson, of McCamey, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in the Desert View Manor Nursing Home in Crane.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in McCamey with the Rev. Jim Hill officiating. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in McCamey.

She was a longtime resident of McCamey. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, W.I. Thomas of Pueblo, Colo., Gary Thomas of McCamey and Mike Thomas of Aukland, New Zealand; stepson, Phillip Davidson of Hays, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
