Magdalena Rivera Chavez
ODESSA - Magdalena Rivera Chavez, 87, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born July 22, 1913, in Alpine. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Celso Chavez, on Dec. 7, 1995.
Survivors are her daughter, Lydia Gomez of Odessa; and four grandchildren, Jeneva, Adolfo Jr., Josh and Aleynna Gomez, all of Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Francis Frey officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.

E.F. "Bob" Matejowsky
McCAMEY - Mrs. E.F. "Bob" Matejowsky, 93, of McCamey died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at the McCamey Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at Resthaven cemetery in McCamey with the Rev. Jodie Windbigler officiating. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of McCamey.
Mrs. Matejowsky was born July 24, 1907, in Miles to P.J. and Mary Baron. She was one of the early pioneers of McCamey, moving here in 1927, when McCamey was called "Tent City." She was a housewife and a member of the Rebbekah’s Lodge in McCamey. She enjoyed her family, children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking sewing and gardening. Mrs. Matejowsky was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Matejowsky was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. E.F. Matejowsky Sr., on Oct. 15, 1965.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Jo Kluthe of McCamey; a son, Fredric Matejowsky, also of McCamey; a sister, Carmen Shumate of North Carolina; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Long and Sherrie Moulton, both of McCamey, and Denise Preston of Waldron, Ark.; and six great-grandchildren.
Claude Wayne Teague
GARDENDALE - Claude Wayne Teague, 63, of Gardendale passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at his home. He was born June 27, 1937, in Hobbs, N.M.
Mr. Teague graduated from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin with a bachelor of business administration degree. He was a manager for Sav-On Office Supply for five years. He was a member of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and also the First Southern Baptist Church of Gardendale.
Survivors are his son, Ronald Wayne Teague of Hesperia, Calif.; daughters, Deborah Kay Pajarito of Hesperia and Rita Jan Christian of Colorado Springs, Colo.; mother, Jaunita Lemons of Odessa; sisters, Annie Mutter of Odessa and Patricia Roberts of Austin; and nine grandchildren.
Public visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 16, 2001, at First Southern Baptist Church of Gardendale with the Rev. Eric Seay officiating. A reception will be held following the memorial from 3 to 5 p.m. at the residence in Gardendale. Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
M.B. "Blair" Thompson Jr.
ODESSA - M.B. "Blair" Thompson Jr., 78, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Seabury Nursing Home.
He was born Oct. 7, 1922, in Chanute, Kan. He married
Betty Sue Alexander March 8, 1946, in Odessa. Mr. Thompson moved to Odessa in 1927 from Chanute. He worked as a welder for Gulf Oil Co., Meither Machine, Reed and Drilco. He had been self-employed since 1960. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Sue Thompson of Odessa; son, Milton Thompson and wife Mary of Odessa; daughter, Donna Sue Randalman and husband Charles of Timberon, N.M.; three grandchildren, Tommy Thompson and wife Lisa, Tamara Wolfe and husband Lance and Joe Dee Thompson; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Thompson.
The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Sherry Holloman and Dr. Charles F. Kriner officiating.

Estephana Armendarez
RANKIN - Estephana Armendarez, 78, of Rankin died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at Rankin County Hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the Rankin Park Building. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001, at the Rankin Park Building with Father Barry McLean officiating. Burial will be at the Rankin cemetery.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the Rankin Park Building.
She was born May 22, 1922, in Rankin to Carmen Cruz and Epolito Lozano. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mauro Armendarez; a son, Richard Armendarez; and daughter-in-law, Gloria Armendarez.
She is survived by six sons, Edward Armendarez, Manuel Armendarez, Juan and wife Carol Armendarez, Armando and wife Betty Armendarez, Abel and wife Rosa Maria Armendarez and Jimmy and wife Rogelia Armendarez, all of Rankin; seven daughters, Elvira and husband Jose Luis Aguirre of Odessa, Antonia and husband Alejandro Castaneda of Sheffield, Linda and husband Cresencio Rodriguez of Rankin, Gilda Lopez and companion Porfirio Regalado of Odessa, Gloria Sifuentes and companion Andres Venegas of Rankin, Aida Ramirez and husband Gilbert Ramirez of Odessa and Rose Mary Ferguson and husband Rick Ferguson of Rankin; brother, Alfredo Fuentez of McCamey; sisters, Manuela Abila and Mercedes Longoria, both of Hobbs, N.M., Rosa Zarate of McCamey and Josephine Luna of Winters; 58 grandchildren; 102 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Collum
ODESSA - Mary Collum, 97, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Avalon Place.
She was born June 20, 1903, in Maud, Okla., to Clayton and Minnie Jane Tiffin. She married
Oscar Collum March 27, 1920, in Maud. They moved to Odessa in December 1941.
Mrs. Collum was a homemaker and a member of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar Collum in April 1974; daughters, Inez Collum, Lucille Miller and Alma Pradon; and a son, Harold Collum.
She is survived by daughters, Virginia Gesch and Mary Christian, both of Odessa, Bonnie Appelt of Hallettsville, Ruth Emerson and Phenone Hunt, both of Port Lavaca; 29 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 40 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 6, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Scott Sprouse officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.

William David Guinn
ODESSA - William David Guinn, 43, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at his residence. He was born Sept. 10, 1957, in Big Spring.
Mr. Guinn had worked for Huntsman Corp. for over 10 years. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are his son, Tyler Guinn of Odessa, and two brothers, Robert Guinn of Midland and Kelly Guinn of Fort Worth.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Billye R. Stewart
MIDLAND - Following cremation, there will be a brief memorial service at 11 a.m. today, April 6, 2001, at Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel for Ms. Billye R. Stewart. The Rev. Bob Porterfield will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Pipkin Funeral Home.
Ms. Stewart was born June 14, 1925, in Wichita Falls to T.W. "Buddy" Rudder and Dell Creamer Rudder. She owned and operated night clubs in Midland and Odessa since the 40’s.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, T.W. Rudder Jr.; a sister, Lois Rudder; her first husband, Delbert Booth, and J.W. "Bubba" Stewart.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandye Booth Pierce; two grandsons, Vernon Pierce of Clarksville, Tenn., and Victor Pierce of Midland; four great-grandchildren, Patrick Pierce of Tennessee, Robert Pierce and Christopher Pierce of Oklahoma and Angelique Pierce of Midland; and a great-great-granddaughter, Ariel Pierce of Tennessee.
Ms. Stewart died at her residence, peacefully in her sleep. She was a Christian with a strong faith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Neal Eppinger, Don Brookshire, Jerry Lee Bradley, Larry White, Lynn Hedges, Ben Weirich, Les King and Jimmy Hopper.
The family urges that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Hospice of Midland.
Visitation will follow the service at "The Place."
David D. Brock
WEST - David D. Brock, age 78, of West, formerly of Odessa, passed away Wednesday morning, April 4, 2001, at Providence Health Center in Waco.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 6, 2001, at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West with the Rev. Fred Raney and Pastor Bruce Carpenter officiating. Military graveside rites will follow at Oakwood cemetery in Waco provided by the VFW Post No. 4819 of West.
Mr. Brock was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Rosenthal, the son of V.B. and Lotus Brock. He attended school in Waco and was a 1942 graduate of Waco High School. He also attended Baylor University. He married
Opal Robinson June 15, 1945, in Waco. She preceded him in death Jan. 13, 1996. David was in the Navy and Naval Reserves for 38 years, retiring as a master chief petty officer. He also worked as a loan officer for the Veterans Administration in Waco for 10 years and General Tire and Rubber Co. in Odessa until he retired. He moved to West from Odessa in July 1998 to be near his niece and nephew, Faye Dell and Jack Clements, and other relatives. He became a resident of West Rest Haven in 1999. He was a former member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Odessa and a member of First United Methodist Church of West.
He is survived by an aunt, Lillian Colley of Waco; a stepsister, Florence Rhodes of Kingsland; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; two special friends, Glenn Benton of Odessa and Lindell Clymer of San Francisco, Calif.; and all of the staff, friends and caretakers at West Rest Haven.
