Wilda B. Mobley
SAN ANGELO - Wilda B. Mobley went to meet her maker Feb. 7, 2001, at a local nursing home. Wilda was born in Sonora as one of seven girls and three boys to the late Benton L. and Emma P. Binyon.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters as well as her husband, Robert T. Mobley. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Wilda spent most of her married
life in Odessa where she was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Feb. 9, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa.

J.T. Patterson
ODESSA - J.T. "Pat" Patterson passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at his residence. He was 80. Mr. Patterson was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Fannin County. He served his country in World War II with the Second Battalion, 131st Field Artillery, during which time the Japanese held him for 42 months as a prisoner of war. He was a member of the Lost Battalion Association.
After the war, he met and married
Louise Kimbrall April 20, 1946, in Fort Worth. They moved to Odessa in 1949, where he began working for Rowan Drilling. He was employed there for 32 years as a rig mechanic. After retiring in 1981, he became an avid reader of historical materials. In 1994, he came out of retirement to start his own business, Patterson and Sons Signs. He celebrated his second retirement in 1999, at which time he turned the helm over to his youngest son.
Mr. Patterson was a lifetime member of both the Disabled American Veterans and the American Ex-Prisoners of War.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Louise Patterson, and his brother, Clifton "Buddy" Patterson.
He is survived by two sons, David and wife Kaye Patterson and John and wife Lisa Patterson; two grandsons, Daniel and wife Debbie Patterson and James Patterson; a granddaughter, Cynthia Patterson, all of Odessa; two sisters, Alice Kizer of Wichita Falls and Mildred Wright of Fort Worth; a sister-in-law, Merl Patterson of Childress; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be at 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors between 6:30 and 8 p.m. today.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the World War II Memorial or Home Hospice of Odessa.

Jose H. Alvarado
ODESSA - Jose H. Alvarado, 82, of Odessa passed away Monday, March 19, 2001, at his residence. He was born Sept. 11, 1918, in Presidio.
He was a retired cement finisher and a Catholic. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Bronze Medal.
Mr. Alvarado was preceded in death by his wife, Herminia Alvarado; a daughter, Olga Gallego; four sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors are his four daughters, Hilda Vasquez of Plano, Gloria A. Guerrero of Odessa, Mary Alice Chavez of Odessa and JoAnn Fierro of McKinney; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Pablo Tiong officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe A. Alvarado, Christopher Chavez, Joe Guerrero, Jeremiah Mack, Arthur Montoya and Steven Leyva.
Jose was a loving father and grandfather.

Concepcion ‘Connie’ Tercero
PECOS - Concepcion "Connie" Tercero, 77, of Odessa passed away Monday, March 19, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. Connie was born July 26, 1923, in Fort Davis.
She was a longtime resident of Pecos and moved to Odessa in February 2000. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
Survivors are her husband, Jose M. Tercero; son, Steve Tercero and wife Aurora of Odessa; daughters, Mary L. Botello and husband Roy of Orange Park, Fla., Rosa De La O and husband Ralph of Odessa and Priscilla T. Ely of Odessa; 10 grandchildren, Lorinda and Stephanie Tercero, Barbara and Diane Botello, Aaron, Vanessa, Israel and Jeremy De La O, Jesse and Joel Ely; and three great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Jeremy Jr. and Emry.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2001, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Pecos. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s cemetery in Fort Davis.
A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Pecos Funeral Home in Pecos.

Barbara Ellen Wright Budd
DALLAS - Mrs. Barbara Ellen Wright Budd, 79, of Odessa died Saturday, March 17, 2001, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope, Ark.
She was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Oxford, Ohio, to Earl C. and Grace Winifred Duvall Wright. She was a homemaker and choir director.
She was the former choir director of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, First Presbyterian Church in Wiggins, Miss., and First Presbyterian Church in Pampa.
She was a member of the Eastern Star in Oxford and a member of the Republican Women in Odessa. She was a former member of the Shreveport Choral Ensemble and made a guest appearance with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Shreveport.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, George E. Budd of Odessa; two sons, David Budd of Rosston, Ark., and John E. Budd of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Virginia Grace Green of Houston and Mary Kathryn Holloway of Dallas; a sister, Winifred Rooney of Oxford; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today, March 21, 2001, at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston Road, in Dallas. Arrangements under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope, Ark.

Pat Shanham
ODESSA - Pat Shanhan, 69, of Odessa died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. Mr. Shanahan was born Aug. 30, 1931, in Lawton, Okla., to John and Toy Shanahan.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2001, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Francis Frey officiating with interment of cremains to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pat Shanahan was a graduate of Cameron University in Lawton, Okla. He played football through college and boxed for the Army, winning the Golden Gloves. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed experiencing new things, like his love of toys and books. He retired from Great Western Oil Drilling as a landman in 1991. Pat was a man well loved by everyone, but most of all by his family, who looked up to him for advice, guidance or a joke. We will miss him very much. The family would like to personally thank Dr. Kodi, Dr. Agasala, Dr. Pereck and Dr. Pearlman.
Survivors: Wife, Susana Shanahan of Odessa; son, Mathew Shanahan and his wife Jennifer of Dallas; daughter, Sylvia Ramos and husband Sam of Elkton, Md.; mother, Toy Shanahan of Poteau, Okla.; and brothers, Harry Shanahan of Poteau and June Shanahan of Sioux City, Iowa.

Donald R. "Don" Register
ODESSA - Donald R. "Don" Register, 64, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away April 2, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born January 23, 1937, in Oklahoma City.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2001 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the pastor Jerry Fortune of Mother of Holmes Memorial Baptist Church of Sheffield officiating.
Mr. Register moved to Hobbs in 1952. He married
Barbara June Berryman on Nov. 11, 1954. He moved to Midland in 1955 and worked in the oilfield. He moved to Odessa in 1960 and worked at Cabot Corp. as a welder. Mr. Register was a patrolman for the Odessa Police Department from 1966 until 1967. He became a deputy for the Ector County Sheriffs Department in 1967 until 1980. He was the owner of Registers Drilling Company. He moved to Sheffield in 1996 and was a deputy for Pecos County Sheriff’s Department. He retired in 2000. He loved cars and hunting and was an avid fisherman and gun collector.
Mr. Register was preceded in death by his parents John Wesley and Gertie Lyles Register, brothers, Andy Register and Jerry Register, and sister, Maudie Lou Summar.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Register of Sheffield; sons, Donnie Ray Register of Midland, Ronnie Ray Register and Terry Lee Register, both of Odessa; brothers, Wesley Register of Houston and Jody Lyles of Midland; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ronald "Ron" Patterson
MIDLAND - Ronald "Ron" Patterson, 75, of Midland passed away Monday, April 2, 2001, at Hospice House of Odessa.
Ron was born May 25, 1925, in Kenmore, Ohio, and married
Virgie Mullen April 23, 1943, in Akron, Ohio. They moved to Midland in 1992. Mr. Patterson served in the Navy during World War II and in the Army during the Korean War. After the military service, Ron worked as a regional transportation specialist and teamster negotiator in the trucking industry. He retired in 1988. Ron was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and was an active member of the Westside Church of Christ in Midland.
His wife, parents, sister and brother preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter, Margie Pecore and husband Al of Midland; grandchildren, Linda Biggs and husband Mike of Houston, Jill Ray of San Antonio, Mike Morrow and wife Patti of Mapleton, Iowa, Brenda Morrow of Delray, Fla., and Stan Pecore of Dallas; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are scheduled for 3 p.m. today, April 4, 2001, at Polo Park Estates in Midland. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Home Hospice or Hospice House of Odessa.
