Grace Mae Zeigler
ODESSA - Grace Mae Zeigler, 93, of Rowlett, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2001, at a Rowlett nursing home. Mrs. Zeigler was born January 30, 1908, in Anson, Texas, to William and Lula Mae Anderson. She married
Martin Luther Zeigler on December 22, 1923, in Lubbock. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Zeigler had been a resident of Odessa from 1951 to 1990, when she moved to Rowlett. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a daughter.
She is survived by a son, Clifford "Tip" Martin Zeigler of Odessa; two daughters, Marjorie Lafon of New Madrid, Mo., and Martha Shedd of Rowlett; a brother, William "Bill" Anderson of Odessa; a sister, Kathy Anderson of Odessa; 3 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2001, at the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.T. Pugh officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Kelly Brantley
MONAHANS - Calla Meeks Brantley, 79, of Monahans, a local businesswoman, passed away Friday morning, April 27, 2001, at Odessa’s Medical Center Hospital.
She was born Dec. 11, 1921, in Greenfield, N.M. She and her family came to Wickett in 1944. In the early 1950s, she began a dairy business, delivering milk door-to-door.
Then she and her husband, Henry, started Brantley Trucking Company in 1955. Shortly thereafter, she was one of the first licensed woman car dealers in the state of Texas.
In the late 1960s, she moved to Monahans, where she operated the Brantley Motel, and entered the real estate business by renting and leasing properties in Monahans and Houston.
Kelly’s love of life was apparent by her infectious laugh and brilliant smile, which she was so quick to share with all around her. She was always on the go and had a zest for life that could not be matched. She knew no strangers and lived her life by the philosophy to live each day as if it were the last.
She is survived by her two sons, Larry Brantley and Don Brantley of Houston; a daughter, Diane McDaniel and her husband Sammy of Monahans; two brothers, William C. Meeks of Carrizozo, N.M., and Leonard Wayne Meeks of Alamogordo, N.M.; special friend Dave Potter of Monahans; four grandchildren, Tamara Barker, Kerry Brantley, Kent McDaniel and Melanie Bruns; six great-grandchildren, Sydney and Shelby Barker, Megan and Kaleb Brantley, and Brantley and Kelly McDaniel; and a multitude of endearing friends.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. today at Monahans cemetery. Following the services, her Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church of Monahans at 3 p.m. with Brother Jeff Box officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
LaVesta Lee Chennault
ODESSA - LaVesta Lee Chennault, 80, of Odessa passed away Thursday, April 26, 2001, at the Hospice House.
She was born June 6, 1920, in Jayton. She worked as a bookkeeper for Fitz Equipment for 25 years and retired in 1990. She also worked for W.E. Howard, C.P.A., for over 25 years. She was a member and past president of the American Business Women’s Association and the Odessa Tabernacle Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. "Woody" Chennault on Oct. 16, 1992; her parents, Ervin and Bessie Lee; and two sisters.
She is survived by her son, Randy Chennault and wife Mary Anne of Hemet, Calif.; daughter, Sandra "Sandi" Hudman and husband Wade of Odessa; brother, B.R. Lee of Stephenville; six grandchildren, Olivia and Bryan Cook, Tammy, Brian and Cory Chennault, Megan and Jeremy Hudman; and a great-grandson, Tyler Cook.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2001, at the Odessa Tabernacle Church with the Revs. Sam Jordan and Doug Herget officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Ruby Walker
PECOS - Ruby "Tiny" Evelyn Walker, 91, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at her residence.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Greer Willis officiating. Burial will be at Fairview cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Pecos and had been a lifelong resident. She was Baptist.

She was born in Lajitas, Texas. She was Catholic.

He was born in Stringtown, Oklahoma. He was a First Lieutenant as a Liaison Pilot in the Field Artillery in European Theater of Command in WWII.
