ODESSA - Owen Charles "Smokey" Gandy, 80, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, at Medical Center Hospital.

He came to Odessa in 1947 from Blanchard, Okla. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was Baptist. He was retired from Lewis Casing Crews.

He was a retired florist. He lived in Odessa for 44 years. He was Catholic.
