TOYAH - Eugenia Sanchez, 83, of Toyah, a homemaker, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at Reeves County Hospital in Pecos.

Mass will be celebrated at 5 p.m. today at St. Emily Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating. Burial will be at the Toyah cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.

She was born in Ruidosa. She was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Benino Sanchez Sr. of Toyah; sons, Benino Sanchez Jr. of Pecos and Ramon Sanchez of Odessa; daughters, Adela George, Seninda Sutton, Olga Lopez and Josefa Jimenez, all of Pecos, Maria McComb of Calvert City, Ky., Cruz Millan of Andrews, Ufemia McKern of Salem, Ore., and Anna McIntyre of Lees Summit, Mo.; sisters, Manuela Contreras of Pecos and Catalina Valenzuela of Amarillo; brothers, Lupe Carrasco and Nicasio Carrasco, both of Pecos; 32 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Alfredo Urias

FORT STOCKTON - Alfredo J. Urias, 72, of Fort Stockton, a retired chef, died Monday, May 14, 2001, in Fort Stockton.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Vasquez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He was born in Fort Stockton and was a lifelong resident. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Maria Urias of Fort Stockton; sons, Alfredo Urias Jr., Saul Urias and Raul Urias, all of Fort Stockton, Robert Urias of Odessa, Orlando Urias of El Paso and Abel Urias of Alpine; daughters, Norma Barker of Brooksville, Fla., and Erminia Moya of Kermit; sisters, Virginia Negrete of Chicago, Josefa Salas of Hamford, Calif., Esperanza Gonzales of Visalia, Calif., Juanita Castro, Amparo Granado and Lydia Marquez, all of Fort Stockton, Fransisca Ramirez and Eva Gonzales, both of Midland; 25 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Jesse Watkins

IRAAN - Jesse L. Watkins, 88, of Iraan, a retired gauger for Shell Oil Co., died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at Pecos County General Hospital in Iraan.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Restland cemetery with the Rev. Mike Wright officiating. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

He was born in Barry and was a resident of Iraan for over 50 years. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Anita Watkins of Iraan; daughters, Joyce Howard of Marfa and Ginger Julian of Kingwood; sister, Bessie Griffin of Waco; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Frank Glier

LUFKIN - Frank Glier, 82, of Lufkin died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, at Lufkin Memorial Hospital in Lufkin.

Services are pending with Pecos Funeral Home.

Billy Cline

ANDREWS - Billy Ray Cline, 52, of Andrews died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Andrews Old cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Land officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born in Memphis and moved to Andrews in 1996 from Nacogdoches. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Debbie Cline of Odessa; sons, Rodney Cline, Gary Cline and Travis Cline, all of Wichita Falls; stepson, Robert Sizenbach of Lubbock; stepdaughter, Misty Sizenbach of Odessa; father, Bill Cline of Nacogdoches; brothers, Mark Cline of Andrews and William Curt Cline of Ben Lemond, Ark.; stepbrothers, Sammy Craig and Jerry Craig, both of Nacogdoches, and Eddie Craig of Denver; sisters, Wilma Sue Allen, Lorraine LaBeff and Tammy Frazier, all of Norphelt, Ark.; stepsister, Sherri Whitaker of Nacogdoches; and seven grandchildren.

Edgar Edwards

WHITHARRAL - Edgar S. "Nubbin" Edwards, 62, of Odessa, an oilfield machinist, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, in Odessa.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Whitharral First Baptist Church with the Revs. Clarence Tedder and Will Fish officiating. Burial will be at Whitharral cemetery. Arrangements by Head Family Funeral Home.

He was born in Whitharral and was a resident of Odessa since 1962.

SURVIVORS: Son, Bryan David Kramer of Odessa; daughter, Rita Lynn of Midland; mother, Lou Emma Burrus Edwards of Levelland; brother, Glenn Edwards of Levelland; sisters, Shirley Breeden of Brownfield and Mary Spruiell of Center; and three grandchildren.

Nora Hapenney

EWA BEACH, Hawaii - Nora Jane "Nix" Hapenney, 80, of Honolulu, retired business manager of the Odessa American, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, in Ewa Beach, Hawaii.

Services will be private. Arrangements by Ultimate Cremation Services of Hawaii.

She was born in Delavin, Ill.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Jim Hapenney of Honolulu; son, Dan Hapenney of Waco; sister, Pat Harrington of San Francisco; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

James Holman

ALPINE - James D. Holman, 80, of Alpine, a rancher, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at an Odessa hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Elm Grove cemetery with Duncan Parish officiating. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.

He was born in Midland. He was Christian.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Pat Holman of Hatchet Bay, Bahamas, Emmy Holman and Sissy Schoenfeld, both of Alpine; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Garland Lang Jr.

MIDLAND - Dr. Garland H. Lang Jr., 79, of Midland, medical director at the Midland County Health Department, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with Revs. Jerry Hilton and Richard Braun officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

He was born in Somerville and moved to Midland in 1952. He was an Army veteran. He was Presbyterian.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Louise Lang of Midland; daughters, Margaret Lang Williams of Dallas and Jennie Lang House of Midland; sons, Garland "Gary" H. Lang III of Midland and Gregory M. Lang of Corpus Christi; brother, Dr. Robert H. Lang of Gulfport, Miss.; and seven grandchildren.

Walter McDonald

ANDREWS - Walter "Bub" McDonald, 78, of Andrews, a retired steam operator with Bass Enterprises, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at his residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Brewer officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews West cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.

He was born in Westbrook and was a resident of Kermit and Morgan Point before moving to Andrews. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Yvonne McDonald of Andrews; daughter, Connie Awalt of Andrews; son, Russell McDonald of Lindale; and five grandchildren.

Allen McFall

BRECKENRIDGE - Allen R. McFall, 51, of Midland, a lawyer, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at his residence.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Charles Kuhn officiating. Arrangements by Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

He was born in Andrews. He was Methodist.

Roberto Ortega

FORT DAVIS - Roberto Millan Ortega, 52, of Fort Davis, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, near Fort Davis.

Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Rick Ruiz officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph’s cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.

He was born in Balmorhea. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
