BRADY - Bill Napper, 70, of Brady, a retired self-employed contractor, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at his residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels with the Rev. Ray Ash officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven cemetery. Arrangements by Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.

He was born in Lamesa and had been a resident of Brady since 1977. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Virginia Napper of Brady; daughter, Belinda Napper of Brownwood; and sisters, Belle Smith of Odessa and Suvee Martin of Lubbock.

Jimmie Pontremoli

MIDLAND - Jimmie Pontremoli, 74, of Midland, a greeter for Wal-Mart, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at a local hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

He was born in Strawn and had been a resident of Odessa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was Lutheran.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Jayme Pontremoli of Midland; sons, Jimmie Pontremoli Jr. of Tennessee and Freddie Pontremoli of Fort Worth; and brother, Bill Pontremoli of Mineral Wells.

Francisco Rodriguez Sr.

ODESSA - Francisco Rodriguez Sr., 57, of Odessa, a cement finisher, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Humberto Porras officiating. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

He was born in Ojinaga, Mexico. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Maria Rodriguez of Odessa; sons, Francisco Rodriguez Jr., Jose Rodriguez and Arturo Ramirez Sr., all of Odessa; mother, Antonia R. Rodriguez of Ojinaga; brothers, Justo Rodriguez of Pecos, Casamiro Rodriguez, Mauro Rodriguez and Jose Luis Rodriguez, all of Odessa; sisters, Carmen Rodriguez, Maria Rodriguez, Margarita Rodriguez, Balbina Rodriguez Tavarez and Socorro Rodriguez Rangel, all of Odessa; and seven grandchildren.

John Snelson

MONAHANS - John B. Snelson, 87, of Grandfalls, a retired oil industry operator, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at the Managed Care Center in Monahans.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Harkey Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.

He was born in Grandfalls. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Brothers, Bill F. Snelson of Midland and W.E. "Pete" Snelson of Austin.

T.J. Walls

BIG SPRING - T.J. Walls, 66, of Forsan, an employee of Knight Tool Co. of Odessa, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at a Midland hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Janca officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home.

He was born in Silver. He was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Marie Walls of Forsan; son, Randy Walls of Carrollton; daughter, Teresa Ragland of Snyder; sisters, Helen Mathers of Robert Lee, Joy Spradlin and Lois Grey, both of Grand Prairie; brothers, Thad Walls Jr. of Moseley, Va., Bob Walls of Andrews and Troy Walls of Colorado City; and four granddaughters.

ODESSA - Ines C. Caballero, 78, of Odessa died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Riley Jones

CRANE - Riley Jones, 72, of McCamey died Monday, April 30, 2001, at Desert View Manor in Crane.

Services are pending with Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

Elijio Leyva

ALPINE - Elijio C. Leyva, 85, of Alpine, a retired carpenter, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, in Alpine.

Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will follow at Holy Angels cemetery. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.

He was born in Alpine. He was Catholic.

James Ormond

MIDLAND - James F. Ormond, 80, of Midland, a retired business owner and petroleum engineer, died Friday, May 25, 2001, in Midland.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

He was born in Norfolk, Va., and had been a Midland resident since 1958. He was Presbyterian.

SURVIVORS: Wife, June Ormond of Midland; son, Neil Franklin Ormond of Fresno, Calif.; daughter, Anita Ormond Brock of Bloomington, Ill.; brother, William Berkeley Ormond of Portland, Ore.; sister, Shirley Kidd or Norfolk, Va.; and two grandchildren.

Norman Plagens

RANKIN - Norman Plagens, 70, of Rankin, a retired oilfield truck driver, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monda at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Medley officiating. Burial will follow at Rankin cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.

He was born in Bryan and had lived in Rankin for 30 years. He was Baptist.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Old Brownfield cemetery with the Rev. Robert Fortney officiating. Another memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2001, at the Community Care Hospice in Odessa with the Rev. Raymond Bugg officiating. Arrangements by Stanton Funeral Home.

SURVIVORS: Son, James Smith Jr. of Plainview; daughter, Decloma Morrisey of Fort Knox, Ky.; brother, Lindley Gorton of Odessa and father, Ralph Gorton of Brownfield .

Lois Shipman

SWEETWATER - Lois D. Shipman, 81, of Sweetwater, a retired bookkeeper, died Friday, May 25, 2001, at Roscoe Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McCoy Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Orvel Brantley officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home.

She was born in Odessa and lived in Kermit many years before moving to Sweetwater. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Ronda Tucker of Nuevo, Calif., Myron Fogle of Sweetwater; sisters, Billie Funderburk of Houston, Yvon McClintock of El Paso; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Elijah Valencia

ODESSA - Elijah Adam Valencia, an infant, of Odessa, died Saturday, May 26, 2001, at Odessa Regional Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

SURVIVORS: Father, Justin Valencia of Odessa; mother, Heather Ontiveros of Odessa.
