MIDLAND - Charlotte Eclaire Wright, 78, of Midland, a retired legal secretary for Atlantic Richfield Co., died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Anns Catholic Church with the Rev. T.J. Murphy officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Worth. She was Catholic.

Clyde Short
ODESSA - Clyde Short, 82, of Odessa passed away Monday, May 21, 2001, at Scenic Mountain Hospital in Big Spring. He was born Nov. 15, 1918, in Seminole, Okla. He married
Florene Dial on Aug. 14, 1943, in Baird.
Mr. Short moved to Odessa in 1946 from Seminole, Okla. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Phillips Petroleum Co. after 38 years of service. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florene; parents, James and Burlie Jane Ray Short; and eight brothers and sisters, A.O. Short, Alvin Short, Calvin Short, Effie Short Page, Earl Short, Burl Short, Lee Short, Pearl Short Woods and Baby Short, who died at birth.
Survivors are his son, Don Short and wife Rhonda of Odessa; sister, Mae Farren of Gruver; sister-in-law, Barbara Short of Victoria; two grandchildren, Kimberley Short and Donica Short; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2001, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ernest Easley officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Estella Irene Alexius
AUSTIN - Estella Irene Alexius, 43, of Austin died of cancer Sunday, May 20, 2001, in Austin.
She was born July 27, 1957, in Plainview. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1976.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Alexius of Austin; mother, Annie Ruth Raulston of Plainview; and brothers, Anthony Lee Raulston of Odessa and Ricky Alvin Raulston of Thousand Oaks.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2001, at the ranch in Austin.
Chester William Inge
ODESSA - Chester William Inge, 76, of Odessa went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 20, 2001. He was born May 6, 1925, in Sawyer, Okla. He married
Sybil Christopher on March 27, 1943, in Hugo, Okla.
He proudly served his country as a World War II Army veteran. He was owner and operator of Chester Inge Welding Inc.
Chester was a longtime member and deacon at Northside Baptist Church in Odessa.
He loved to sing gospel music and sang in the church choir and quartet until his death. He was a kind, generous and loving man who will be missed by many. Rest assured he is already singing in heaven.
Survivors are his wife, Sybil of Odessa; three sons, Jim Inge and wife Diana of Fort Worth, Ron Inge and wife Melissa of Odessa and Marty Inge and wife Adriana of Midland; three daughters, Betty Hinnant and husband Bob of Aztec, N.M., Judy Inge of Odessa and Jan Williamson and husband Wes of Euless; and brother, Melvin Inge of Fort Towson, Okla. Chester is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Kristi Boden, Alan Hinnant, Steven Hinnant, Jason Inge, Chris Inge, Reed Smithson, Laurie Smithson, Trey Williamson, Alex Inge and Stephani Garcia and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Clydel Chapman and Glenn Harlin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be George Bingham, Eric Freeman, John Lewis, Kenneth Spradley, Arlie Jones and Mike Wright. Other deacons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

William A. ‘Bill’ Adkins
ODESSA - William A. “Bill” Adkins, age 87, of Odessa died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Manor Park in Midland. He was born Oct. 21, 1913, in Homer, La., to Floyd and Fannie Adkins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 26, 2001, at Crescent Park Church of Christ with Paul Smith officiating. Interment will be Monday, May 28, 2001, in Magnolia, Ark.
Mr. Adkins married
Margaret Stevens Nov. 9, 1941, in Magnolia. They moved to Odessa in 1944. He was a member of Crescent Park Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Adkins of Odessa; son, William H. Adkins of Plano; daughter, Mary M. Richman of Odessa; granddaughter, Leanne Richman of Odessa; grandsons, Andrew W. Adkins of Centerville, Va., Matthew D. Adkins and Joel S. Adkins, both of Plano; and two great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Wayne Stacker
ODESSA - Kenneth Wayne Stacker, age 51, of Odessa passed away Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He suffered a heart attack following a severe asthma attack Tuesday, May 22, 2001.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, May 26, 2001, at the chapel of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home with the Rev. David Ring, pastor of Highland Methodist Church, officiating, assisted by Matthew Williamson. Family members will present special songs. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Wayne was born Feb. 1, 1950, in Ralls to Claude Henry “Mutt” and Lillian Audrey Williamson Stacker. He was a bachelor and was preceded in death by his father, Mutt Stacker, Nov. 30, 1982, in Odessa. Stacker moved to Odessa in 1953 from Brownfield. He was a Methodist.
“Stacker Wayne,” as he was lovingly called by younger cousins in early years, graduated from Odessa High School in May 1968. He attended Odessa College on a drama scholarship for two years and also attended San Antonio Junior College. He acted for two years at the Globe of the Great Southwest Theatre at its inception and on numerous occasions through the years. He also performed at the Mansion Dinner Theatre, designed sets at Odessa College and had worked as a substitute teacher in the drama department at Permian High School.
Stacker began band in seventh grade and was an outstanding member of the Odessa Bronchos Band. He was also very active as a member of the OHS choir and his love of music continued as a profession.
Stacker is survived by his mother, Lillian Stacker of Odessa; uncles, Kenneth Williamson of Amarillo, Tommy Williamson of Pecos, Ed Stacker of Wills Point and Harlin Hunter of Ralls; aunts, Helen Williamson of Ralls, Margie Williamson of Pecos, Blanche Shannon of Weatherford and Mavis Brock of Redding, Calif.; and numerous cousins.
Chosen pallbearers are Danny and Clifton Williamson of Amarillo, Mark Williamson of Katy, Matthew Williamson of Pecos, Mace Williamson of College Station, Miles Williamson of Houston, Sid Williams of Fort Worth and Bob Gibson of Hollywood, Calif.

ODESSA - Wallace “Gene” Norris, age 72, of Odessa went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born July 13, 1928, in Seminole, Okla., to Charles and Mary Norris.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, May 26, 2001, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. J.C. Owen officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Jo Wanda Stricklen Sept. 5, 1963. He served in the Army and was an industrial mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Wanda Norris of Odessa; daughters, Tammy Ward and husband Chris of Odessa and Lynn Bryant and husband Teddy of Oklahoma; son, Mark Norris and wife Terry of Cross Plains; stepson, Gary Nelson of Lake Jackson; brother, Don Norris; sisters, Ann Martin and Bernice Cloutier; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Bobbie P. Layton
ODESSA - Bobbie P. Layton, 84, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at her residence. She was born Oct. 28, 1916, in Mobeetie.
Mrs. Layton married
James M. Layton on Feb. 25, 1940, in Friona. He preceded her in death. She was former owner of the Odessa Plan Room. She was past president of Women in Construction and past national president of Women in Construction. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ Church.
Survivors are her daughters, Guyneth Stanford of Marina, Calif., Ila Ray Stanford and Patsy Layton, both of Odessa; sisters, Rose Curcuruto of Austin and Sena Ray Brownlee of Pecos; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Russ Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Edna Mae Hallman Burchfield
ODESSA - Edna Mae Hallman Burchfield peacefully departed this life May 28, 2001. She was an Odessa resident for over half a century. She was born Edna Mae Hallman Dec. 10, 1921, to Edna Earl and Alonzo Condy Hallman in Nashville, Ark.
She attended Southern State University in Magnolia, Ark. She married
John Joseph Burchfield on Dec. 26, 1947. They moved to Odessa in 1949. Together, they had two children, John Joseph Burchfield II and Patricia Jean Burchfield.
She was a longtime member of the Odessa Garden Club and the Friendship Sunday School Class of First Methodist Church of Odessa. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1978 after 20 years of service.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Burchfield of Odessa; her sister, Jean Hallman Forsythe of Anaheim, Calif.; her son, John Burchfield and daughter-in-law Felipa Burchfield, both of Dallas; and her daughter, Patricia Jean Burchfield and son-in-law Brent Maxwell, both of College Station.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Care Hospice of Odessa or the Memorial Fund of the First Methodist Church of Odessa.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. today, May 30, 2001, at First Methodist Church of Odessa with the Rev. Steve Trout officiating. Services are under the care of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
