TOYAHVALE - Jane Roden, 61, of Midland, a homemaker, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, at her daughter’s home in Midland.
Graveside services were Monday at Madera Springs Ranch cemetery with the Revs. Bob Young and Rick Moon officiating. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Cedar Gap.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Cynthia Roden of Midland; mother, Byrda Mae Hickman of Abilene; sisters, Sue Williams of Tucumcari, N.M., Lin Scott of Abilene and Jean Edward of Wildorado; brother, Donald Hickman of Merkel; and a grandson.

Irene Sosa
MIDLAND - Irene Sosa, 81, of Midland, a homemaker, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at a Midland care center.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerome Burnet officiating. Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. today at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Artesia, N.M. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Four sons, a daughter, a brother, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Hazel Tubb
ODESSA - Hazel M. Tubb, 77, of Odessa, a retired optician for Sheets Clinic, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at Deerings Nursing Home.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Bay City. She was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Shirley M. Grant and Brenda J. Lewis, both of Odessa; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Felix Villa
DENVER CITY - Felix Villa, 88, of Denver City, a retired oilfield roustabout, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Yoakum County Hospital in Denver City.
Mass was celebrated at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Williams Catholic Church with the Rev. Andre Mendoza officiating. Burial followed at Denver City Memorial Park. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.
He was born in Cuero and moved to Denver City in 1952. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Tony Villa of Ecuador, Peter Villa and Johnny Villa, both of Seminole; brother, Roy Villa of Cuero; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Pedro Alcala
ODESSA - Pedro Garcia Alcala, 74, of Odessa, a retired carpenter, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at his residence.
Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Ray Brown officiating. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Jourdanton and moved to Odessa in 1951.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Pedro G. Alcala Jr. of Fort Worth and Charles Hardeman of Crane; daughters, Margaret Luna and Maria Raya, both of Fort Worth; brothers, Fred Reyes and Chavel Alcala, both of San Angelo; sister, Sue Garcia of San Angelo; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Walter Bice
CENTERVILLE, Ohio - Walter Bernard Bice, 92, of Marietta, Ohio, a retired manager for Siebenthaler’s Nursery in Dayton, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, in Marietta.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Routsong Funeral Home with Tim Nowlin officiating. Burial will be at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Routsong Funeral Home.
He was born in Enterprise, W. Va. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Sue Brantley Smith of Austin; son, Dr. W. Bernard Bice of Vienna, W. Va.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Lucius Bunton III
ODESSA - Lucius D. Bunton III, 76, of Austin, a retired federal judge, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, in Austin.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ernest Easley officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Del Rio and had been a resident of Marfa and Odessa. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mary Jane Bunton of Austin; son, Lucius Bunton of Austin; daughter, Cay Warner of Pampa; and four grandchildren.

Ralph Isaac
NEDERLAND - Ralph Isaac, 53, of Nederland, owner of Arrow Business Services and pastor of Vine Bible Church, both in Nederland, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at his residence.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vine Bible Church with John Bigelow officiating. Arrangements by Broussard’s Mortuary.
He was born in Odessa and had been a resident of Nederland for 19 years.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Diane Isaac of Nederland; sons, Steven Isaac of Orange City, Iowa, and Christopher Isaac of Salt Lake City; and a grandson.

Helen McLean
DEERFIELD, Mo. - Helen J. McLean, 87, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at New Horizons Nursing Center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Deerfield cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Dodson and moved to Odessa in 1997 from Kansas City, Mo.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Harold McLean of Odessa and Dr. Dewey McLean of Blacksburg, Va.; sister, Lelon Downs of Wellington; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Margaret Murphey
ODESSA - Margaret K. “Susie” Murphey, 62, of Odessa, a retired Postmaster relief, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at her residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Beacon Baptist Church with the Rev. Amon Langston officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in San Angelo and moved to Odessa in 1951. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Tommie L. Murphey of Odessa; daughters, Cynthia O’Keefe of Muskogee, Okla., Debbie Langston of Odessa and Melissa Gage of Bellville; sons, Dale Reese of Fort Worth, James “Tony” Gray of Japan, Daniel Gray of Wickett, Tom Murphey of Odessa, Dr. Mark Murphey of Ruston, La., Terry Murphey of Greenwood and Kenneth Murphey of Monahans; sisters, Bell Thornton of Odessa, Izetta McKinney of Miles and Sylvia Smith of Mineral Wells; brother, Pete Hardin of Roland, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

ODESSA - Lucy Mae Wright, 74, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Home Hospice.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Emmett Barnard officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Fayetteville, Ark.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Kenneth J. Wright and Calvin Wright, both of Odessa, Kendale Wright of Midland and David George Wright of Newport News, Va.; brother, Walter Drane of Arkansas; and two grandchildren.

Jim Anderson
ANDREWS - “Big” Jim Anderson, 58, of Andrews, a retired oilfield salesman, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leo Copeland of Seminole officiating. Burial will follow at Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements are with McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.
He was born in Drumright, Okla. He moved to Andrews in 1972 from Hobbs, N.M.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Wilma Anderson of Andrews; son, Ashley Anderson of Andrews; brothers, Leon Anderson of Hobbs, N.M., and Dale Anderson of Irving; sister, Erma Downs of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

Nena Beth Brock
ODESSA - Nena Beth Brock, 74, of Odessa died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in a local hospital.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Marquez and was a longtime resident of Odessa.
