ODESSA - Edena W. Hickman, 76, of Odessa died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Don Fankhauser officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Hickory, Okla.

SURVIVORS: Son, Bobby Brent Hickman of Chicago; daughter, Sharon Wood Haverland of Dallas; brother, Bentley H. Whitsett of Brownwood; sister, Anita Rogers of Liberal, Kan.; and one grandchild.

Carlton Laman

TYLER - Carlton S. Laman, 71, of Tyler, retired employed of El Paso Natural Gas Company, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at a Tyler hospital after a long illness.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cathedral in the Pines with the Rev. Dr. Stanley R. Copeland officiating. Arrangements by Lloyd James Funeral Home.

He was born in Cave City, Ark., and was an Army veteran of World War II.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Kyleen Blackerby Laman of Tyler; sons, Melvin G. Laman of Fort Worth and Richard W. Laman of Austin; daughter, Jane E. Brown of Tyler; sister, Jimelene Cox of Plano; three granddaughters; and one great-grandchild.

Ceola Dawson

ODESSA - Ceola Pigg Dawson, 61, of Odessa died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

W.C. Stewart

ODESSA - W.C. Stewart, 77, of Odessa died Saturday, Jan. 24, 1998, at his residence.

Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

May Anderson

HOBBS, N.M. - May Belle Anderson, 90, of Hobbs, N.M., a homemaker, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eli Borden officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens cemetery. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Home, Inc.

She was born in McMinnville, Tenn., and moved to Hobbs, N.M., in 1976 from Tyler. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Johnnie Louise Clements of Hobbs, N.M.; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Candelaria Carrillo

FORT STOCKTON - Candelaria M. Carrillo, 76, of Fort Stockton, a Fort Stockton Independent School District cafeteria worker, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, in Odessa.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of Christ with Josua Villa officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Shafter and moved to Fort Stockton in 1965 from Hereford. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Daughters, Gloria Aguilar of McCamey, Melinda Badillo of Vega, Ida Casias of Fort Stockton; sons, Homer Carrillo of Fort Stockton and Alfredo Carrillo and Adan Carrillo of Carlsbad, N.M.; sisters, Etelvina Gonzalez, Lucia Garza and Amanda Armendariz, all of Fort Stockton; brother, Gregorio Montez of Fort Stockton; 43 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Wesley Clyburn

ODESSA - Wesley Clyde Clyburn Jr., 74, of Odessa, a retired employee of Exxon, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Johnny Dickerson officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Vernell Clyburn of Odessa; son, Wesley C. Clyburn III of Midland; daughter, Debra Campsey of Odessa; sister, Mildred Lambert of Midland; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Billie Edmiston

BIG SPRING - Billie R. Edmiston, 70, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Memorial Park. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Mack Edmiston of Odessa; daughter, Shirley 'Sam' Dowdall of San Jose, Calif.; mother, Jean S. Culpepper of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

Glen Gore

DEQUEEN, Ark. - Glen Carroll Gore, 68, of Odessa, a retired welder, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Millwee cemetery with the Rev. Faron Rogers officiating. Arrangements by Wilkerson Funeral Home.

He was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Aline Doris Dennis Gore of Odessa; son, Dennis Gore of Galveston; daughters, Glynis Gore of Bryan, Londa Carrasco of Amarillo; brothers, H.C. Gore of Fort Worth, Don Gore of De Queen, Ark., Benny Gore of Mountain Home, Ark., Randy Gore of De Queen, Ark.; sisters, Joetta Douglas of Grand Prairie, Marnetta Bishop of Nashville, Ark.; and four grandchildren.

Hank Johnson

ODESSA - Hank Johnson, 60, of Odessa, an employee of Fisher Construction, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Services will be held at noon Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Charles Shuffield officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in Sulphur Springs.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Linda Johnson of Odessa; son, Ricky Johnson of Tennessee Colony; daughters, Martha Willis of Troup, Gayla Clanton of Quitman; sisters, Juanita Shreves of Mesquite, Lucy Kizer of Winnsboro, Miriam Mayfield of Haltom City, Nola Quinn and Arlene Brown, both of Como; and seven grandchildren.

Loma Nichols

MONAHANS - Loma Higginbotham Nichols, 95, of Athens, a former cafe owner, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998, at South Place Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Monahans Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Bill Cook officiating. Arrangements by Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.

She previously lived in Grandfalls and Monahans. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Son, Jack Higginbotham of Grandfalls; daughters, Doris Turrentine of Mountain Park, N.M., Billie Welch of Athens; sister, Lillian Spahn of Athens; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Lorenzo Nieves

FORT STOCKTON - Lorenzo 'Lencho' Nieves, 89, of Fort Stockton, a contract cemetery worker, died Friday, Jan. 23, 1998, at Pecos County Memorial Hospital.

Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Chaumont officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

He had lived in Fort Stockton since 1910. He was an Army veteran. He was Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Ines Martinez Nieves of Fort Stockton; daughter, Lorenza Ramirez of McCamey; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
