Aubry Ann Chavez
McCAMEY — Aubry Ann Chavez, 7-month-old infant daughter of Deliah Chavez and Vivian Sanchez, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at the Children’s Hospital in Dallas.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 3, 2001, at First Assembly of God Church in McCamey with the Rev. Duane Gryder officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of McCamey.
Aubry was born March 7, 2001, in Odessa.
She is survived by her parents, Deliah Chavez and Vivian Sanchez, both of McCamey; a brother, Dominic Chavez of McCamey; maternal grandparents, Rene and Linda Gonzalez of McCamey; paternal grandparents, Jesus and Maria Luisa Sanchez of McCamey; maternal great-grandparents, Noe and Elidia Saldana of McCamey and Rosalia Gonzalez of McCamey; paternal great-grandparent, Maria Sanchez of Mexico; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be her uncles, Lorenzo Chavez and Nathan Chavez.
Wayne M. Tiner
ODESSA — Wayne M. Tiner, 81, of Odessa died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1920, in Star City, Ark., and had been a resident.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Frank Tiner, and his mother, Ida Bell Summerford-Tiner.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Mills Tiner of Odessa; brother, Willie Frank Tiner of New Camey; sisters, Dorothy Louise Charles of Dayton, La Betra Burge of Dayton, Mary Rebecca Carpenter of Marble Falls and Hallie Darlene Jones of Bay Town; and special niece, Mary Jane Johnson of Portland, Ore.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 3, 2001, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery.

Sarah Jeanette Fleming
ROTAN — Sarah Jeanette Fleming, 59, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at an Odessa hospital.
Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at Weathersbee Funeral Home Chapel with Don M. Fleming officiating. Burial followed at Belvieu cemetery under the direction of Weathersbee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fleming was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Rotan to the late Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Lightfoot. She worked at Sunshine Laundry in Odessa for many years. She married
Bob Fleming on March 2, 1964, in Juarez, Mexico. She had lived in the Odessa area since 1964 and was a Baptist.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Fleming of Odessa; a son, Tom Fleming and wife Kathy of Odessa; a daughter, Sarah and husband Darrell McPherson of Odessa; three grandchildren, Steven Fleming and wife Angela of Odessa, Jessica Savage of Odessa and Danielle McPherson of Odessa; a great-grandchild, Courtney Fleming of Odessa; a sister, Joy Parks of Robert Lee; a brother, Ben Ensminger of McCaulley; and two stepgrandchildren, Brandon and Laura.
Allen Holloway
ODESSA — Allen Holloway, 68, of Odessa passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at his residence. Mr. Holloway was born Dec. 18, 1932, in Imperial to Earl Hunter and Verna Hazel Holloway.
Allen received a scholarship to attend Texas A&M until the Korean War caused him to leave school. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge from both.
He married
Tommie Jean West on Dec. 4, 1955, in Talpa. They moved to Odessa in 1956 from McCamey and he began working for Rodman Supply in 1956. He later worked as a ranch foreman for Bob French in Brackettville. In 1964, he began leasing his trucks to J.H. Rose Trucking Co. and drove all over the United States. He later worked for Lewie Montgomery Trucking Co. for 20 years and later Lone Star Transportation as a pipeline estimator.
He was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He will be remembered as a friend, Dad and family man who never met a stranger. He enjoyed making people laugh and treated everyone equal. He always said, “What are friends good for if you can’t use them?” He loved telling people about his Savior. He knew and loved his Lord and was secure in his faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Verna and Earl Holloway; his sister, Iris McNabb; and his brother, Jack Holloway.
Survivors include his wife, Tommie Holloway of Odessa; three sons, Allen Earl Holloway Jr. and his wife Denny of Odessa, Mark Holloway and his wife Donna of Houston and Alton Holloway and his wife Lisa of Houston; a daughter, Joan Castillo and her husband Willie of Austin; four sisters, Verna Bickley, Mildred Reinertsen, Mary Lou Griffin and Lois Mullins; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Griffin Jones and the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating. Military graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at the Talpa cemetery in Talpa under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Johnson, Bill Ogle, Ellis Fulton, Bill Staggs, Charlie Harris, Glen Tucker, Warren Heagy, Gale Holliman and Mike Elfert.

Lucille Carter Price
ODESSA — Lucille Carter Price, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, two days before her 96th birthday.
She had resided in San Angelo since 1958. She was born in Sept. 29, 1905, in Coryell County to W.D. McAdams and Matilda Caroline Hollingsworth McAdams.
She was preceded in her eternal journey with our Lord by a son, Jay William Carter, and husband, J.B. Carter.
In 1952, Lucille Carter married
Clark Price, who passed from this life in 1958. She worked a number of years at Baptist Memorials Center followed by several years with Shannon Dietary Department.
Mrs. Price is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Lindsey of Odessa and Mary Lou Wilson and husband Wm. C. Wilson of San Angelo, and two sons, Edson Carter of San Angelo and Jessie Price and wife Karan of Crane. Granddaughters are Lori Coleman, Anessa Price, Jessica Carter, Jennifer Carter and Tami Bennett. Grandsons are Jay Harvey Lindsey and wife Marcie, Charles Ray Lindsey and wife Mary, Gerald Ray Price, William Jay Wilson and wife Nancy, Paul Jay Carter and wife, Barry Price and wife, Dalton Carter and Miller Carter. Great-granddaughters are Stacy Linders, Traci Majors, Christal Price, Holly Price, Lori Coleman and Sandra Coleman. Great-grandsons are Jimmy Lindsey, Chris Lindsey, Kyle Ray Lindsey, Hunter Price, Lawrence Jay Wilson and Jeremy Raiborn Wilson. Great-great-grandchildren are Dakota, Christian, Regan, Chaulker, Heather, Cassie, Erica, Saundra, Matt and Maci.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 29, 2001, at Ector County cemetery with Elder Troy Barrington, pastor of the Primitive Baptist Church of Midland, officiating.
Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home of San Angelo.
Peggy Randolph
ODESSA — Peggy Randolph, age 73, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at West Oaks Geriatric Center in Houston. She was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Littlefield to Chester and Ozzy Harris.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Melvin Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Randolph lived in Odessa for 35 years before she moved to Houston. She was the manager of Odessa College Food Services until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Odessa Optimist Club, Rotary Club and First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Bigler of Houston; two granddaughters, Madison Bigler and Kelly Bizzell; and sisters, Nina Kimbell of Amarillo, Nancy Denicola of Baton Rouge, La., and Janie Fonst of Baton Rouge, La.
A daughter, Carmen Brown, preceded her in death.
Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Sue Warren Swinney
ODESSA — Sue Warren Swinney, 65, of Odessa passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at her residence. She was born April 3, 1936, in McAlester, Okla., the daughter of James and Ruby Warren, both now deceased. She graduated from Hugoton, Kan., High School in 1954. She married
Bob J. Swinney on June 3, 1956, in Clayton, N.M. They lived at several locations, moving from Puerto Rico to Odessa in 1978. She was a member of Second Baptist Church.
She worked as a teacher’s aide, teacher, secretary for Phillips Petroleum, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed her stay in Puerto Rico. She loved people and travel. She said her middle named should have been “Go.”
She is survived by her husband of 45 years; sons, Brent and Darren Swinney, both of Odessa; brothers, Wendell Warren of Odessa and Wayne Warren of Splendora; sisters, Sandra Lancaster of Edmond, Okla., and Sharon Cooley of Davenport, Iowa; grandchildren, Heather and Michael Swinney; and stepgrandchildren, Jessica and Rana Myers.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at Second Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

O. ‘Blackie’ Blackwell
MIDLAND — O. “Blackie” Blackwell, my husband and our father and grandfather, went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Oct. 10, 2001, at home after a long battle with illness. He fought the good fight of faith and now he is whole again.
Blackie was born Sept. 25, 1932, in Okemah, Okla., to Owen and Edna Blackwell. Blackie was a well-respected and well-loved businessman and member of the Midland community since 1969. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years, serving as tank commander in the Korean War. He also served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He owned and operated American Roustabouts until he had to retire in 1986 due to illness. Blackie married
Dorothy Gubert on July 15, 1955, in Alvin.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary; brother, Dan; granddaughter, Dodi Burton; and parents, Owen and Edna Blackwell.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Troy McCall of Midland; his daughter, Elaine Minor of Arlington; three grandsons, Larry Burton of Midland, Billy Monroe of Arlington and Chris McCall of Midland; his sister, Frances Penick of Midland; his brother, Nathaniel Blackwell of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 11 a.m. today, Oct. 12, 2001, at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Larry Ashlock of Fort Worth, formerly of Crestview Baptist Church of Midland, and the Rev. Gale Wilson and J.D. Crawford officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Larry Burton, Billy Monroe, Chris McCall, Al Cooper, Bill Zeitler and Jeff Welter.
