E.T. ‘Theron’ Winn
CRANE — E.T. “Theron” Winn, 75, of Crane died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 3, 2001, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Baker officiating. Burial will follow at the Crane County cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Mr. Winn was born May 22, 1926, in Altus, Okla., to N.C. and Lola Winn. He married
Joyce Ann Casselberry on Jan. 8, 1947, in Vernon. He had lived in Crane since 1968. He was a production supervisor for Chevron for 44 years, before retiring in 1991. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Winn of Crane; daughter, Barbara Webb and husband Richard of Lubbock; son, Ronnie Winn and wife Kama of Crane; three brothers, Arnold Winn of Red Springs, Wayne Winn of Seymour and Clarence L. Winn of Decatur; a sister, Joy Neithercutt of Spring; four grandchildren, Kimberly Crisler and Channing Crisler, both of Lubbock, Brandon Winn and Matthew Winn, both of Crane; and two great-grandchildren, Silas Crisler and Taylee Crisler, both of Lubbock.
Pallbearers will be Ed Gallion, Joe Allen, Charles Stroder, Doyle Rogers, Charles Mapes and Keith Coburn. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Wagner and John Hoestenbach.
Jose Aguirre
ODESSA — Jose Aguirre of Midland passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, in Jal, N.M. He was born Dec. 14, 1969, to Jose and Alicia Aguirre in Cendradillas, Durango, Mexico.
Jose married
Areli Alvarado in August 1993 in Odessa.
Jose loved his family very deeply. He was a member of the Apostolica DeLaFe En Jesus Cristo. He was a field hand in the oilfield business and was employed by Tim’s Pumping Unit Services.
He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Areli Aguirre; a son, Jose Aguirre Jr.; two daughters, Joseline Aguirre and Juliana Aguirre, all of Midland; parents, Jose and Alicia Aguirre; brothers, Humberto Aguirre of Odessa and Jose Angel Aguirre of Mexico; sisters, Irma Reyes Aguirre of Odessa, Elsa Lopez Aguirre, Bertha Villalobos Aguirre and Dora Corona Aguirre, all of Midland, Luzesther Aguirre and Blasa Olivia Palma Aguirre, both of Mexico.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 3, 2001, at Assemblia Apostolica DeLaFe En Jesus Cristo, located at 5533 W. Mapp St., with wake service following at 7 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at the Assemblia Apostolica DeLaFe En Jesus Cristo with Roman Arreola officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Dallas V. Absher
ODESSA — Dallas V. Absher, 88, of Odessa, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2001, here in Odessa at Hospice House. He was born December 6, 1912, to John and Eva Absher in Roscoe, Texas.
Dallas married
his wife of 61 years, Helen June Stevens January 14, 1941, in Sweetwater. He retired after 30 years of service as an oil field perforator with Ram-Guns. He enjoyed fishing, football and golf. He was an all around sports lover. Twelve brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Absher of Odessa; son, Ronnie Absher of Odessa; daughter, Lana Holcombe and husband Ray of Odessa; brother, John Henry Absher Jr. of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Trisha Taylor of Los Angeles, Ca, Shaun Duncan of Odessa, Resa Russell and husband Jay of Odessa, Vincent Absher and wife Melissa of Odessa, Jason Thornhill of Austin; great-grandchildren, Chloe Taylor of Los Angeles, Calif., Ashley Duncan of San Antonio and Parker Russell of Odessa.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Johnny Thomason of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 13th at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Karen Elaine Baumgardner
ODESSA — Karen Elaine Baumgardner, 56, of Odessa passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born Sept. 18, 1945 in Portsmouth, Ohio. She married
Sonny Baumgardner on June 25, 1988, in San Angelo. She worked at Medical Center Hospital in the records dept. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by her husband, Sonny Baumgardner of Odessa; mother, Mildred Willis of Odessa; brother, Kenneth Sparks of Bullhead, Ariz.; and sister, Joyce Sirmon of Odessa.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.T. Pugh officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Bonnie J. Brown
ODESSA — Bonnie J. Brown, 66, of Odessa passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at Avalon Place.
She was born August 23, 1935, in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was a Baptist and had worked for Henderson Drug from 1955 to 1958, Levines Dept. Store from 1958 to 1977 & First Republic Bank from 1978 to 1986. She later was a house sitter for the elderly.
She is survived by two brothers, George Richard Brown and Milton Jet Brown, both of Odessa; three sisters, Ellen Louise Thorman and Patsy Jo Terry, both of Odessa, and Rose Ellen Murphy of Houston.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Fred A. Dodgen
COLEMAN — Fred A. Dodgen, 85, of Coleman, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at Abilene Regional Medical Center.
Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Coleman City cemetery Pavilion with Ronnie Lane officiating. Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
Mr. Dodgen was born May 3, 1916 in Coleman and was a son of J.W. Dodgen and Birdie Mae Hipsher Dodgen. He grew up and attended school in Coleman. On Dec. 13, 1934, he married
Doris Lee Duke in Brownwood and she preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 1997. He was a supervisor of the City of Coleman during the building of the swimming pool at the City Park and the building of the first road to Lake Coleman. He served as a member of the Civil Defense and was Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Doris Lane and Gary Spurgeon of Coleman; one son, Loyd Melvin Dodgen of Burkett; one sister, Ruby Mae Clark of Coleman; eight grandchildren, Ronnie Lane of Odessa, Lori Lane Dempsey of Coleman, Jackie Dodgen of Burkett, Melinda Bledsoe of Valera, Craig Dodgen and Keri Dodgen Duerr, both of Irving, Tammy Spurgeon of Colorado and Kelli Sikes of Coleman; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Fred Leroy Dodgen in July 1984; one brother, Jesse Le Dodgen and one sister, Mabel Sparkman, also preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
Janette Rayburn
MIDLAND — Janette Rayburn was born October 13, 1919 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Harley Hays and Mary Rogers Hays. She moved to Midland in 1935 and graduated from Midland High School. She is retired from Women and Children’s Hospital in Odessa. She was a member of First Christian Church in Midland.
Survivors include her son, Ralph Rayburn and daughter-in-law, Linda Rayburn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and two daughters, Olivia Wilson of Midland and Pam Todd and son-in-law, Jim Todd of Odessa; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rayburn passed away Sunday, November 11, 2001, in a Midland hospital.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2001, in Resthaven Memorial Park with Dr. Tommy Potter of First Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

Blanche C. Graham
ODESSA — Blanche C. Graham, 88, of Odessa passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 30, 2001, at her residence.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Burt Groves officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Blanche C. Graham was born April 1, 1913, in Dunn to C.P. and Julia Chandler. She was the youngest and last surviving of 13 children. She came to Odessa in 1947 from Fort Worth. She married
Howard “Bill” Graham on Oct. 4, 1932, in Snyder. He preceded her in death April 27, 1980. She was a member of the Eisenhower Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and loved her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Brown and husband Eddie of Odessa; a sister-in-law, Verna Graham of Ranger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
John R. Gray
ARTESIA, N.M. — John R. Gray, 71, of Artesia, N.M., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, N.M.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST today, Oct. 31, 2001, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Elliott officiating. Burial will be at Woodbine cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J.T. Jackson, George Young, John Bedingfield, Dave Barrett, Theodore Briggs, Bow Donaghe, Raymond Pearson and C.E. LaRue.

He was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Levelland to George Ralph Gray and Effie Lee Warren Gray. He married
Bobbie Dawn Till on Jan. 6, 1951, in Clovis, N.M. He later married
Carolyn Gibson Feb. 27, 1987, in Artesia. He moved to Artesia in 1943 from Barstow. He was the president of Marbob Energy Corp. He was a member of Clark Memorial United Methodist Church and was an active member of and held various offices in numerous oil- and gas-related organizations and civic organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Gray of the family home; a son, Johnny Gray and wife Terry of Carlsbad, N.M.; four daughters, Terry Chandler and husband Doug of Carlsbad, Kyla Williams and husband Bobby of Artesia, Stacy Purcella of Dallas and Shannon Orris of Lubbock; a brother, George Gray and wife Dorothy of El Paso; two sisters, Mrs. Jerome France of Roswell and Eva Sue Green and husband Virgil of Artesia; six grandchildren, Brandon Chandler of Carlsbad, Shane Gray of Artesia, Jonathan Gray of Carlsbad, Dustin Smith of Albuquerque, N.M., Skyler Morales and Austyn Morales, both of Lubbock; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
