Norval Leroy Jackson
ODESSA — Norval Leroy Jackson, 86, of Odessa passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at his residence. He was born Dec. 25, 1914, to George and Grace Belle Jackson in Cleveland, Okla. He married
Ann E. Risinger on July 3, 1935, in Cleveland, Okla. She preceded him in death July 29, 1993. Mr. Jackson was a mud engineer. He retired from Permian Mud Service with over 20 years of service. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was also a member of the Hebron Masonic Lodge No. 215 in Cleveland, Okla.
Survivors are sons, Gary Jackson of Fort Worth and Larry Jackson of Odessa; daughter, Peggy McDaniel of San Angelo; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and all his special friends and neighbors.
Public visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at the Cleveland cemetery in Cleveland, Okla., with Charles Hagburg and Dick Risinger officiating.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels of Odessa.

Barbara Ann (Carter) Harper
ODESSA — Barbara Ann (Carter) Harper, 56, of Odessa passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born July 23, 1945, in Ladonia.
Mrs. Harper moved to Odessa in 1954 from Wichita Falls. She attended Blackshear High School. She was in private nursing care for 20 years. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church.
She is survived by son, Ralph Moses and wife Gwen of Odessa; daughters, Melissa Anderson and husband Michael of South Carolina and Terra Kirkwood and husband Freddie of Odessa; parents, Clyde Carter of Alvarado and Louise Carter of Odessa; brother, DeWight Blair of Sherman; four sisters, Shirley Everrett of Denver, Colo., Natalie Carter of Alvarado, Alline Vaughn of Texarkana and Margie Hopkins of Odessa; goddaughters, Cynthia Hooper, Tanya Canady and Gail Roberson, all of Odessa; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. Hayward Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.

Senaido B. Pargas
ODESSA — Senaido B. Pargas, 77, of Odessa passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at his residence. He was born June 5, 1924, in D’Hanis.
Mr. Pargas had worked for the railroad, brick factory and farming and also had worked for Jones Bros. Construction Co.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wright Pargas; parents, Sisto and Theleophora Pargas; brothers, Isidro, Ramon and Luterio Pargas; nephew, Alejandro Pargas; and stepdaughter, Nora Garcia.
He is survived by sons, Michael Pargas and Anthony Pargas, both of San Antonio; stepsons, Glenn Lambrano of Midland, Frank Lambrano and Higinio Garcia, both of Odessa, and Hector Rey of Alpine; daughters, Emma Smith, Catalina Pargas and Dorothy Pargas, all of San Antonio; stepdaughters, Norma Enriquez of Pecos and Hilda Rodriguez of Odessa; brothers, Joe Pargas of D’Hanis, Jimmy Pargas of Roswell, N.M., and Ernesto Pargas of Pecos; sisters, Maria Tovar of San Antonio and Maria Olivia Pargas of Odessa; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Swindell officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.

Rose Marie Aguirre
ODESSA — Rose Marie Aguirre, 29, a nurse’s assistant for Mission Adult Daycare, where she worked for a year, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center in Brownwood.
Miss Aguirre lived in Odessa, where she is survived by her special friend, Jesse Munoz of Odessa; sons, Michael Fernandez of Odessa, Tre Blanco of San Angelo and Thomas Ryan Aguirre of Odessa; daughter, Ciana Kalee Aguirre of Odessa; father, Jimmy Glenn Wells of Lufkin; mother, Rose Cordova Julian of Houston; sisters, Peggy Wells of Lufkin and Sheila Cordova of Lufkin; brother, Bo Wells of Lufkin; and stepbrother, Jessie Cook of Lufkin.
She was born Oct. 30, 1971, in Shreveport, La.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 18, 2001, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Hillary Ihedioha officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery.

Milton Gilbert Elliott
MIDLAND — Milton Gilbert Elliott, 69, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at a local hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today, Oct. 5, 2001, at Pipkin Chapel with the Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating and the Rev. Eddy Elliott assisting. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.
Gilbert was born Feb. 17, 1932, in Earth, Texas, to Alvin “Pappy” Elliott and Lucille Elliott. He married
Annie Ruth Stanton on Feb. 5, 1963, in Midland. He worked for Basin Truck Repair until his death.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin “Pappy” Elliott and Lucille Skipper Elliott; brother, Edward Elliott; and grandson, Peter Gilbert Clegg.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Elliott; two daughters, Dixie Ann Hulslander and Donna Lucille Elliott; and five sons, Burton Elliott, Monty D. Elliott, Samson W. Elliott, Larry Clegg and John W. Clegg. He is also survived by his sister, Vaudine Green; three brothers, Carl D. Elliott, Curtis D. Elliott and Randy L. Elliott; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Danny Elliott, Brent Elliott, Chris Elliott, David Elliott, Jeff Johnston and Ariel Elliott. Honorary pallbearers will be Monty Elliott, John Clegg and Alan Hulslander.
Jerry Redwine
MARSHALL — Graveside services for Jerry Redwine, 78, of Marshall, formerly of Sweetwater, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 5, 2001, at Pendergrass cemetery in Sidney under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Thweatt officiating.
She died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at Colonial Park Nursing Home in Marshall. She was born Sept. 28, 1923, in Lamesa to William Chesley Ward and Ethel Gertrude Jeffcoat Ward. She graduated from Ackerly High School in Ackerly. She married
Aaron Edward Redwine on June 17, 1942, in Lamesa. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 2000. She was a cafeteria worker. She worked for the Sweetwater Independent School District, which is where she retired from. Previously, she had worked for the Big Spring Independent School District. She was a member of the Fundamental Baptist Church in Sweetwater.

ODESSA — Christopher Alan Rusch, 18, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dewey Blevins officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at S.P.J.S.T. cemetery in Seymour with the Rev. Friar Richard Eldredge officiating.
He was born Jan. 11, 1983, in Odessa. He was a high school student and Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Henrietta Pavliska; grandfather, Roy Rusch; and brother, Bryan Rusch.
He is survived by his parents, Craig and Janet Rusch of Odessa; brothers, Jason Rusch, Jonathan Rusch and Brett Rusch, all of Odessa; and grandmother, Verna Rusch of Appleton, Wis.
Pallbearers will be Kody Robitson, Willie Lujan, Jonathan Rusch, Jason Rusch, Chad Russell and Chris Todd.

Leona Lulu Taylor
CLYDE — Leona Lulu Taylor, 95, of Abilene died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at an Abilene care center.
Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ava Berry officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. She will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors, 4635 Oakwood Drive, in Odessa. Services will be under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Clyde.
Mrs. Taylor was born June 19, 1906, in Olla, La., to Edward and Leona Chapman. She married
Aaron Jackson Taylor on Sept. 4, 1926, in Louisiana. They moved to Odessa in 1934 and helped start Temple Baptist Church. Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Spencer Taylor in 1974.
Survivors include two sons, Aaron Taylor of Denver, Colo., and Spencer Taylor of Clyde; a daughter, Joyce Taylor of Abilene; a sister, Orion Anderson of Columbia, La.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Dorthy Sue Perkins
ODESSA — Dorthy Sue Perkins, 60, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, in Lubbock. She was born Jan. 25, 1941, in Paris, Texas. She married
Glen Perkins on Nov. 15, 1956, in Odessa.
Sue had worked for Odessa Regional Hospital and was a Methodist.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Perkins of Odessa; two sons, Steve Perkins of Florence, Ky., and Ray Perkins of Odessa; daughter, Phyllis Solomon of Odessa; two brothers, Tommy Neil Bradley of Gladewater and Gene Bradley of Gladewater; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Alkire officiating.

Ramon Pineda Chapa
McALLEN — Ramon Pineda Chapa, 89, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital.
Mr. Chapa is survived by his wife, Maria of McAllen; sons, Ramon S. Chapa of Little Rock, Ark., and Xavier Chapa of Irving; daughters, Martha Williams of McAllen and Phyllis Calzada of Odessa; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 5, 2001, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. A graveside funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at Roselawn cemetery.
