GORDONSVILLE, Tenn. — Carl C. Dillard, 79, of Covington, Tenn., a retired employee of Blakely Construction Co. in Odessa, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001, in Covington.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bass Funeral Home Chapel with Jeffrey Nason officiating. Burial will be at Brush Creek cemetery. Arrangements by Bass Funeral Home.
He was born in Chessnut Mound, Tenn., and had been a resident of Odessa. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Peggy Jones of Lebanon, Tenn., Paula Proffitt of Carthage, Tenn., Patricia Clevesger and Pamela Schlauch, both of Covington; brothers, James Dillard and Robert Dillard, both of Lebanon; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mary Dockall
ODESSA — Mary Nell Dockall, 73, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Heggemeier officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Duncan City cemetery in Duncan, Okla. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Duncan. She was Methodist.

Jesus Hernandez
MARFA — Jesus Uranga Hernandez, 91, of Marfa, a retired rancher, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Merced cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Marfa. He was an Army veteran.

Floy Robertson
ANDREWS — Floy Robertson, 74, of Andrews, retired co-owner of Buddy’s Drive Inn in Andrews, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Short officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Cuthbert and moved to Andrews in 1947.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Larry Robertson of Richardson and Tommy Robertson of Andrews; daughter, Bonnie Duncan of Andrews; brothers, Vernon Lewis of Colorado City and Delbert Lewis of La Porte; six grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Paul ‘Ed’ Gambell
ODESSA — Paul “Ed” Gambell, 71, of Odessa passed away Saturday, July 7, 2001, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born Oct. 26, 1929, in St. Jo to Robert and Mae Gambell. He moved to Odessa in 1969 from Lakenheath, England. Ed retired in July 1969 after serving 21 years in the United States Air Force. Ed also worked for the city of Odessa as director of equipment services from 1970 to 1979 and Ector County Equipment Services from 1983 to 1989. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and also a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 955.
Ed married
Estelle Hodges on July 21, 1951, in Wichita Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mae Gambell and brother, Robert A. Gambell.
Ed is survived by his wife, Estelle Gambell; his daughter, Paula Giesler and husband Harold of Odessa; sons, Phil Gambell of Austin and Bill Gambell and his wife Cheryl of Odessa; and grandchildren, Jonathan Giesler, Henry Gambell and Michelle Gambell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, July 11, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Weeks DuBose of Westwood Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers include Pat Land, Dale Land, Martin Ramos, Dennis Wilhite, Jon Dell Blair and Ken Hancock.

Jessica Ann Young
ODESSA — Jessica Ann Young, 31 years of age, of Odessa passed away Friday, July 6, 2001, at her residence. She was born May 4, 1970, in Odessa to Jesus Young and Gloria Ontiveros. She was a housewife and a Christian.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Enrique and Petronila Young; grandmother, Josephina Ortiz; and two uncles, Jacob and Ramon Young.
Surviving are her four sons, Victor Young of Lubbock, Jeranimo Young of Lubbock, Jacob Young of Odessa and Jesse Young of Odessa; four daughters, Stephanie Maldonado of Odessa, Esmeralda Young of Odessa, Reyna Young of Lubbock and Victoria Young of Lubbock; parents, Jesus Carrasco Young of Odessa and Gloria Navarrete Ontiveros of Odessa; five brothers, Julian Ortiz and wife Debbie of Alta, Iowa, Alfred Ortiz and wife Olivia of Odessa, Raul Ortiz of Odessa, Daniel Ortiz and wife Diane of Odessa and Domingo Ortiz of Odessa; five sisters, Nellie O. Mata and husband Edward of Odessa, Gloria O. Rodriguez and husband Javier of Odessa, Belen O. Ramos and husband Raul of Porterville, Calif., Jessie Ann Young of Odessa and Jesusita Y. Perez and husband Abel of Odessa; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2001, at Iglesia Apostolica en la Fe de Cristo Jesus located at 25th Street and Adams Avenue with Pastor Angel Alvarado officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. Miss Young will lay in state at Iglesia Apostolica en la Fe de Cristo Jesus until service time with a prayer service at 7 p.m. today with family receiving friends at 1 p.m. at the church.

Arlon Cave
ODESSA — Arlon La Vaun Cave, 74, of Odessa, a retired transport oil driver, died Monday, July 9, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Bugg officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Yantis and moved to Odessa in 1957. He was Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cave of Odessa; sons, Robert Cave and Larry Cave, both of Odessa; daughters, Sherry Little and Kathryn Anderson, both of Odessa; sisters, Ima Jean Canaday of Quitman and Ruth Wallace of Midland; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Rodney R. Kendricks
LUBBOCK — Services for Rodney R. Kendricks, 33, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. today, July 11, 2001, at Trinity Church with the Rev. Lanny Hemmings and Doug Hale officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. Services are under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
He died Sunday, July 8, 2001, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born July 26, 1967, in Odessa and had been a resident of Lubbock since 1989. He was a 1985 graduate of Permian High School where he was a member of the band, symphonic orchestra and stage band. He graduated from Odessa College with an associate’s degree in law enforcement. He was a sheriff’s deputy with the Ector County Sheriff’s Department from Sept. 15, 1988, until Feb. 1, 1989. He graduated from the Lubbock Police Academy May 26, 1989, and worked patrol on the midnight shift before transferring to the motorcycle unit in April 2000. He completed the Police Basic Motorcycle School in April 1997. He completed the Arizona Department of Public Safety Motorcycle Instructor School in January of this year and was a certified police motorcycle instructor for the department. He received five letters of commendation, two from 1997 and one each from 1998, 1999 and 2001. He was a 12-year veteran of the Lubbock Police Department.
He was a member of True ABC and Nite Owls Bowling Leagues and represented the Lubbock Police Department in the Law Enforcement Torch Runs benefiting the Special Olympics.
Survivors include two daughters, Victoria and Madilynn Kendricks, both of Southlake; his parents, Dennis and Carol Kendricks of San Antonio; a sister, Donella Glasscock of Odessa; a brother, Johnny Kendricks of San Antonio; grandparents, Johnny and Lou Little of Odessa; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry Clark
LUBBOCK — Larry Clark, 64, of Lubbock, owner of Flex Marketing Insurance Agency, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Quaker Avenue Church of Christ with Elgin Conner and Elmore Johnson officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. today at Dreamland cemetery in Turkey, Texas. Arrangements by Franklin Bartley Funeral Home.
He was born in Turkey and was a resident of Lubbock since 1955. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
