ODESSA — Esta Vera Eubanks, 85, of San Angelo, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, at a San Angelo nursing home.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Zap officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Tahlequah, Okla., and was a longtime resident of San Angelo.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jamie Eubanks of San Angelo; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

Frieda Mitchell
ODESSA — Frieda Marie Mitchell, 87, of Odessa, a retired employee of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at Hospice House of Odessa.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Kaw, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1937. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Son, F.R. Mitchell of Gardendale; two granddaughters; three stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Guillermo Rubio
FORT STOCKTON — Guillermo R. Rubio, 73, of Pecos County, a retired rig operator, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in Fort Stockton.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Burial will be at Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Presidio and was a resident of Pecos County since 1988. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Severa L. Rubio of Fort Stockton; sons, Guillermo Rubio Jr. of Pecos, Alfredo Rubio and Reyes Rubio, both of Odessa, Willie Rubio and Demetrio Rubio, both of Fort Stockton; daughters, Gloria Machuca, Olivia Navarette and Rebecca Granado, all of Pecos; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Moises O. Hernandez, 78, of Presidio died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

LUBBOCK — Kristie Wright, 19, of Odessa died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

ODESSA — Ray Yancey, 81, of Odessa died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at Hospice House of Odessa.
Services are pending with Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

Dorothy McMurry
SAN ANGELO — Dorothy McMurry, 80, of Las Vegas, a homemaker, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, in Las Vegas.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Belvedere Memorial Park with Mike Burson officiating. Arrangements by Shaffer Funeral Home.
She was born in Slay and had been a resident of San Angelo for 20 years before moving to Las Vegas in September.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Gay Dawn Joyner and Sharon Campbell, both of Odessa, Saundra Ramstad of Norcross, Ga., Tanya Bacon of London, Texas, and Delisse Carroll of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Alberto Moreno Jr.
FORT STOCKTON — Alberto V. Moreno Jr., 52, of Whiteface, a security chief, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, in Lubbock.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Fort Stockton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Fort Stockton and had been a resident. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Grace G. Moreno of Whiteface; daughters, Arlene Matta of Walsenburg, Colo., and Deanna Moreno of Odessa; son, Albert R. Moreno of Estancia, N.M.; parents, Petra and Albert Moreno Sr. of Fort Stockton; sister, Belia Martinez of Midland; and three grandchildren.

Etta Potts
HENNESSEY, Okla. — Etta “Granny” Potts, 93, of Hennessey, Okla., a retired licensed vocational nurse, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Integris Bass Baptist Medical Center in Enid, Okla.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hennessey Church of Christ with Lanny Lobe officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Colorado City cemetery in Colorado City. Arrangements by Cordy-Gritz Funeral Home.
She was born in Venus and had been a longtime resident of Odessa before moving to Hennessey five years ago. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Marie Scott of Odessa; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Arlon LaVaun Cave
ODESSA — Arlon LaVaun Cave, 74, of Odessa passed away Monday, July 9, 2001.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, July 12, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Bugg officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Cave was born March 15, 1927, to Robert and Becky Cave in Yantis. He attended schools in Yantis and Quitman. He moved to Odessa in 1957. Mr. Cave was retired from Shell Oil Co. He was a transport driver. His hobbies were fishing and bowling. He married Mary Myers on April 17, 1951, in Texarkana, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Becky Cave; sisters, Eula Morris, Mary Young and Kathleen Rogers; and brothers, Lewis Cave, Marshell Cave, Mack Cave and Aubrey Cave.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cave of Odessa; sons, Robert Cave of Odessa and Larry Cave of Odessa; daughters, Sherry Little of Odessa and Kathryn Anderson of Odessa; sisters, Ima Jean Canaday of Quitman and Ruth Wallace of Midland; 10 grandchildren, Kenneth Little, Stephanie Medford, Mac Cave, Christopher Anderson, Jennifer Derrick, Shawna Blair, Joshua Cave, Larry Cave, Jack Cave and Kimberly Cave; and 11 great-grandchildren, Kenny Little, Charni Little, Tanner Smith, Brittany Derrick, J.J. Ehrenberg, Sydney Ehrenberg, Mac Cave, Hagen Cave, Shelby Blair, Timothy Medford and Amber Medford.
The family requested memorials to Community Care Hospice.
Services entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Angela Kay Curry
ODESSA — Angela Kay Curry, 39, of Odessa passed away Monday, July 9, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 21, 1962, in Valdosta, Ga. She was a resident of Odessa for nine months and had been a resident of Austin. She was a licensed vocational nurse and a member of Victory Temple Baptist Church. She was an animal lover. She married Kristian Shane Curry on April 4, 2000, in Austin. Her husband was born and raised in Odessa.
She is survived by her husband, Kristian Curry of Odessa; stepdaughter, McKenna Curry of Midland; and parents, Melvin and Iris Irwin of Gulf Shores, Ala.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Jack Watkins officiating. Burial will be at Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley, Ala.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.

James ‘Bill’ Herren
ODESSA — James “Bill” Herren, 71, of Odessa passed away Monday, July 9, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1930, in Corning, Ark. He married Patsy Coplen on Feb. 2, 1962, in Kermit. He was an U.S. Air Force and Marines veteran. He worked on pipeline construction in Alaska, Nigeria, Kuwait and the Middle East. He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Geoffrey and Opal Herren; son, Ronald Herren in 1993; and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Herren of Odessa; daughter, Tracy Herren of Odessa; four sisters, Wanda Gilmore of Searcy, Ark., Patsy Bryant of Lone Camp, Peggy Herren of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Linda Crump of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren, Taylor Vickery and Brandon Vickery of Odessa.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Weeks Dubose officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
