ANDREWS — Maple Peterman, 82, of Andrews, a retired employee of ABC Daycare in Andrews, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at Hospice House of Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews West cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in O’Donnell and was a resident of Andrews since 1936.

ODESSA — Jesus Manuel Porras, 67, of Odessa, a body shop owner and operator, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
He was born in Big Spring. He was Catholic.

ALPINE — Margaret Vima Rains, 76, of Alpine, a retired bookkeeper for West Texas Utilities, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, in Midland.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at University Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Westlawn cemetery in Del Rio. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.
She was born in Del Rio and was a resident of Alpine for 50 years.

He is survived by his parents, Amado Gonzales and Juanita Gonzales, both of Odessa; son, Jeremy Gonzales of Odessa; two brothers, Amado Gonzales III and Amado “Shadow” Gonzales, both of Odessa; two sisters, Dina Rayos and Jessica Dominguez, both of Odessa; and maternal grandparent, Paula Mireles of Asherton.

ODESSA — Juan “Tati” Salgado, 43, of Odessa died Sunday, June 10, 2001, in Odessa.

He was born Oct. 17, 1957, in Odessa and was a lifelong resident. He was a mechanic for Sewell Ford.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Salgado of Odessa; daughters, Mandy Salgado and Stephanie Salgado, both of Odessa; his dog, Buddah Salgado of Odessa; father, Pat Salgado of Odessa; mother, Pascuala Salgado of Odessa; sisters, Selma Swerreingen and Mary Carrasco, both of Odessa; and brother, Pat Salgado Jr. of Odessa.

LUBBOCK — Mr. Bobby Dean Swain, 73, of Hammond, La., a native of Morris, Okla., died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2001, at Resthaven cemetery in Lubbock.
Mr. Swain was a retired oilfield consultant.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Compton Swain; parents, Guy and Pansy Chadwell Swain; two sisters, Doris Elizabeth Smith and Doris Jean Carter; and brother, Jack Swain.
He is survived by two sons, J.B. Swain and Richard Eugene Swain, both of Hammond; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Ray Charles Houston, 45, of Odessa died Sunday, June 10, 2001, in Odessa.
He was born Feb. 23, 1956, in Odessa and was a lifelong resident. He was self-employed.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2001, at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darren Willis officiating. Burial will be at the Ector County cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Houston; and mother, Ora Lee Cork-Armstrong.
He is survived by daughter, Jacquelyn Tonette Wilkerson of Odessa; brothers, Irwin Armstrong of Odessa, Vonzell Houston of Oklahoma City, Nathaniel Houston, Rozell Houston and Luther Houston Jr., all of Los Angeles; sisters, Marcelene Washington, Clara Davis-Williams and Faye Joyce Armstrong, all of Odessa, Juanita Houston of Los Angeles, Jean Houston and Cremella Dunn, both of Wichita, Kan.; and three grandchildren. Mary Edge McWilliams
ODESSA — Mary Edge McWilliams, 67, of Odessa passed away Monday, June 11, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born March 13, 1934, in Pyote. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1949.
Mary was a retired real estate broker and saleswoman. She lived in Hermosa Beach, Calif., for several years and was active in real estate there. She was very proud that she was able to help many people achieve their goal of owning their own home. She moved back to Odessa 20 years ago. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by a son, Buddy Joe Wilson; a daughter, Dina Lynn Wilson; and her parents, Jake and Mae Edge.
Survivors are her sons, Dana Guy Wilson and David Jay Wilson, both of Odessa; brothers, Bill Edge and Gary Edge, both of Odessa, and Jimmy Edge of El Paso; sisters, Linda Edge Moore and Carol Edge Reneau, both of San Angelo; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2001, at the Odessa cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
