Arturo D. Munoz
ODESSA — Arturo D. Munoz, 65, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
He was born May 21, 1936, to Juan and Maria D. Munoz in Barstow, Texas.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Pastor Guadalupe Alvarez Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
A prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Munoz moved from Pecos and had lived in Odessa for 33 years. He married Alice Bullis on Feb. 15, 1992, in Odessa, and he greatly loved his family. He worked for Miller/Gold for 20 years, and for Arrow Printing for five years and enjoyed playing the guitar.
His parents, Juan and Maria Munoz, sister, Eloisa Vargas, and a step-grandson, Antony O’Brien Jimenez, Jr., all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; sons, Joe Munoz and wife, Cleo, Arturo Munoz Jr. and wife, Celia, Danny Munoz and wife, Josie and Dr. Rick Munoz and wife, Georgina, all of Odessa; stepchildren, Mike Wright, Ruth Bullis, Joel Wright and Jimmy Jimenez, all of Odessa, Isaac Wright of Abilene, Abigail Mendoza of Amarillo, Raul, Lee and Anthony Jimenez, all of Georgetown; brother, Alfonso Munoz of Pecos; sisters, Ina Nunez and Oralia “Lollie” Olivas, both of Odessa, and Alicia Chavez of Pecos; eight grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials can be made to the American Lung Association.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Kathleen Thomas Williams
DUNCAN, Okla. — Graveside services for Kathleen Thomas Williams, age 80, of Lubbock, Texas, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at the Duncan City cemetery in Duncan, Okla., with the Rev. Dan Standifer officiating. Burial will be at the Duncan City cemetery under the direction of Chapel of Angels Funeral Home in Lubbock.
Mrs. Williams died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at Grand Court Retirement Home in Lubbock.
She was born Nov. 9, 1920, in Bowie, Texas. She married Russell E. Williams on Nov. 16, 1941 in Waurika, Okla. He preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1979. She attended grades one through 12 at Empire School in Duncan with a high school degree.
Kathleen and Russell owned and operated Odessa Frozen Food Lockers in Odessa for 23 years.
Survivors include her son, Gerry Williams of Lubbock; her daughter, Kaye Collins of Waco; her sisters, Coleete Brown of Ruidoso, N.M., Ruth Talley of Duncan and Gwen Daniels of Midland; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Grady R. Smith
BIG SPRING — Grady R. Smith, 60, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at a Midland hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m Monday, August 13, 2001, at First Baptist Church Chapel of Big Spring. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born on October 10, 1940, in Bandera, Texas, and married Judy Parrish on June 3, 1974, in Lovington, N.M.
Mr. Smith was director of equipment services for the city of Odessa for 23 years until his retirement on June 30, 1998.
He enjoyed life and was devoted to his family, which he took care of with all his heart and soul. He never met anyone who didn’t like him and will be missed very much.
Mr. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church of Big Spring and previously a member of Temple Baptist Church of Odessa.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1970.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Smith of Big Spring; three sons, Grady Malcolm Smith of Lubbock and Michael Smith and Jeffrey Smith, both of Odessa; one daughter, Penny Hopkins of Talladega, Ala.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grady N. Smith of Schertz; one sister, Linda Smith of Schertz; one grandson, Michael Andrew Smith of Big Spring; one granddaughter, Channa Smith of Big Spring; one niece, Shelley Delgado of Moore; one nephew, Kevin Delgado of San Antonio and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Sandra Delgado on Sept. 24, 1991.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, c/o Lucy Bonner, P.O. Box 2121, Big Spring, Texas 79721-2121.
The family will receive friends from 7:30 p.m to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Betty Barclay
ODESSA — Betty Jean Barclay, 70, of Odessa died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Oklahoma City and moved to Odessa in 1951. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Brother, Leonard Barclay of Edmonton, Canada; and sister, Lois Hoover of Spring Hill, Fla.

Robert Bernard
ODESSA — Robert V. Bernard, 51, of Odessa, a welding contractor, died Friday, July 13, 2001, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Chavez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Fort Stockton and moved to Odessa in 1972 from Monahans. He was an Army veteran. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Elvira Bernard of Odessa; daughter, Michelle Rodriguez of Georgetown, Del.; mother, Baudela Sanchez of Odessa; stepfather, Manuel Sanchez of Odessa; stepmother, Suzie Bernard of Midland; brothers, Raymond Bernard Jr. of Carlsbad, Eddy Bernard of Midland and Billy Bernard of Dallas; grandmother, Irene Salmon of Fort Stockton; and five grandchildren.

Pauline Eudaly
GRANDFALLS — Pauline Louise Eudaly, 68, of Midland, a homemaker, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Tamarisk cemetery with Dwaine Smith officiating. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
She was born in Stamford. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Aunt, Eleanor Eudaly of Grandfalls; and three cousins.

Jack Calvert
TEMPLE — Jack B. Calvert, 86, of Temple, a retired office manager for the Social Security Administration in Odessa, Jonesboro, Ark., and Temple, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at Belton Nursing Home in Temple.
Services were Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Torian officiating. Burial was at Bellwood Memorial Park. Arrangements by Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
He was born in Austin and had been a resident of Odessa. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Marguerite Calvert of Temple; and sister, Nell Margaret Dorris of Dallas.

Juanita Gregston
ODESSA — Juanita Gregston, 84, of Odessa, a retired schoolteacher for the Ector County Independent School District, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at her residence.
No services are scheduled. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Comanche, Okla., and was a resident of Odessa since 1956. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, J.L. Gregston of Odessa; son, Jack Gregston of Oklahoma City; brother, L.J. Absher of Arlington; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Magdalena Molano
ANDREWS — Magdalena Sanchez Molano, 92, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at Andrews Healthcare Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Andrews Iglesia de Cristo with Jaime Valdez officiating. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Del Rio and moved to Andrews in 1963 from Sanderson. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Antonio Sanchez of Albuquerque, N.M., Jesus Sanchez of Big Spring, Don Sanchez and Paul Sanchez, both of Andrews; daughter, Anita Barrera of Portland, Ore.; brother, Claudio Villegas of Sanderson; sister, Ramona V. Elizondo of Hereford; 33 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Lola Smith
ODESSA — Lola Smith, 54, of Odessa, a teacher, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Hansen officiating. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
She was born in Paris, Texas. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Keiah Templeton of Odessa; brother, Roy Smith of Odessa; sister, Nettie Smith of Odessa; and a grandchild.

Julian Suniga
MONAHANS — Julian Perales Suniga, 63, of Kermit, a self-employed laborer, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at Hospice House of Odessa.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Waiwood officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Monahans cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
He was born in Monahans and was a resident of Kermit for 12 years. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Yolanda Brown, Cindy Martin and Lupe Martinez, all of Odessa, and Manuela Suniga of Midland; son, Michael Suniga of Houston; sisters, Jesusita Vejil of Kermit and Lenora Payne of Tucson, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren.
