ODESSA - Coleman Sumuel Sr., 85, a retired school guard for the Ector County Independent School District, died Monday, Dec. 22, 1997, at New Horizon Nursing Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthews Baptist Church with the Rev. G.T. Garnett officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Wortham and was a resident of Odessa. He was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Mertha Marie Sumuel of Los Angeles, Ca., Estella Pauline Willard, Frankie Lean Lewis, Bertha Mae Sumuel and Lora Faye Davis, all of Odessa; brother, Ozell Lee Simmons of Dallas; sisters, Rosie Lean Quarrels of Wortham and Frankie Lee Carter of Plainview; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Edde Baucum
Edde Baucum, 71, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at Presbyterian Medical Center in Dallas.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Truman J. Warren, Jr. officiating. Funeral arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Colorado City and had been a resident of Odessa since 1965. She was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Del Baucum of Odessa; daughters, Susan Richards of Abilene and Elaine Kaufman of Washington, D.C.; sister, Gloria Kellogg of Nashville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
Joseph Espinoza
SEMINOLE - Joseph Espinoza, infant son of Manuel and Eva Espinoza of Seminole, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 1997, at Memorial Hospital in Seminole.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Gaines County cemetery in Seminole. Burial will follow. Funeral arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home in Seminole.

Carl Nix
MIDLAND - Carl L. Nix, 90, of Midland, a retired electrician, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997, at his home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dellwood Baptist Church in Midland with the Rev. Bill Strickland officiating.
Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born in Erath County and had been a resident of Midland since the early 1950s. He was a member and deacon of the Dellwood Baptist Church, and member of International Brotherhood Electrical Workers.
SURVIVORS: Son, Carl Douglas 'Buck' Nix and his wife, Mary, of Van Horn; daughter, Peggy Miller and her husband, Coy, of Brownwood; brother, G.M. Nix and his wife, Mary E., of Brownwood; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

BIG SPRING - The Rev. Sam Partee, 73, of Big Spring died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997, in a Big Spring hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Big Spring with Dr. Ed Williamson officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bradshaw cemetery in Bradshaw.

He was born in Hill County. He was affiliated with the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church and was a pastor with United Methodist Churches in the Central Texas area until 1990. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Rose Partee of Big Spring; daughters, Patricia Vanover, Jeanett Ross and Becky Rodriguez, all of Odessa; sons, Tommy Partee of Sumpter, Ore., and Devin Partee of Abilene and Richard Partee, both of Abilene; sisters, Alma Bishop of Colorado City, Roxie Phillips of Early and Jewell Purvis of Cross Plains; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

James Woodrow 'Woody' Stroud, 80, of Odessa, a retired Ector County Independent School District custodian, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Big Spring.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dave Adkins officiating.
Burial will be at Ector County/Odessa cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Cleburne and came to Odessa in 1936 from Fort Worth. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.

ODESSA - Adair Alexander, 77, of Odessa died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

He was born in Guion and lived in Odessa for 40 years. He was an Army veteran.

He was born in Cravens, La., and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

MIDLAND - Paul Deboskie Jr., 60, a retired bus station owner, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 1997, at his residence after a brief illness.

He was born in Rosebud, and moved to Odessa in 1953 from Lamesa. He was an Air Force veteran.

He was born in Locust Grove, Okla., and moved to Andrews in 1958 from Brownfield. He was Baptist.
