ODESSA — Harry Dale Vanderburg, 74, of Odessa, a retired motor electrician, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ernest Easley officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Pampa and moved to Odessa in 1942. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Elna Vanderburg of Odessa; son, Darwin Vanderburg of Odessa; daughters, Sherilyn Horning of Dover, Ohio, and Vicki Hebb of Loganville, Ga.; sisters, Hattie Wilson and Charline Cooper, both of Odessa, and Retha Coleman of Gun Barrel City; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

ANDREWS — Robert Tarrant, 22, of Odessa died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, in Andrews.

Eula Pearl Waddell
ODESSA — Eula Pearl Waddell, 81, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Star. She was a homemaker and a member of Crescent Park Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Annie Gummelt; husband, Leonard A. Waddell; son, Leonard A. Waddell Jr.; brother, O.B. Gummelt; and sisters, Ola Mae Gummelt and Eda Reed.
Mrs. Waddell is survived by brothers, H.E. Gummelt, Earl Gummelt and Billy Gummelt; sisters, Gertrude Green, Lorene Gummelt and Doris McCasland, all of Odessa; two grandchildren, Mollie Christesson of Odessa and James Waddell of Wellington; five great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 6, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at Hurst Ranch cemetery in Star.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crescent Park Baptist Church.

Claude W. Fenton Jr.
ODESSA — Claude W. Fenton Jr. passed away Monday, July 30, 2001, after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Highland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Scott officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Claude was born Aug. 8, 1920, in Big Spring to Claude W. Fenton Sr. and Ida Viola Gillean Fenton. He came to Odessa in 1927 with his family where his dad worked for Texas Electric Service Co. installing diesel engines at the power plant on South Dixie. His parents preceded him in death. Burial will be at Odessa cemetery in the family plot. Claude graduated from Odessa High School in 1937. He attended Texas College of Mines in El Paso and Weatherford College, where he graduated in 1940. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran. After the war, he returned to Odessa where he owned and operated service stations and later went into the car business. After retirement, his love for antique cars became his fulltime hobby.
He married
Bonnye Wayne Brooks on Jan. 16, 1944. They were married
for 57 years. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. Honesty and integrity were characteristics that enveloped all that he did.
Claude was a member of Highland United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 955, Scottish Rite, El Maida Shrine and Odessa Shrine Club. He was past president and a life member of the Ector County Sheriff’s Posse. He was also a past president of Permian Basin Oil Burners Car Club. He was a member of the American Legion, Veteran Motor Car Club of America, Antique Automobile Club of America and West Texas Region Antique Automobile Club of America.
Claude grew up with a love for cars. His first car was a Model T Ford. His fascination with that vehicle remained with him all his life. He loved restoring automobiles and returning them to their original beauty. He and his wife traveled extensively on tours with the Antique Car Clubs.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnye; daughter, Lynette Shimer and her husband Bill of Thomasville, Ga.; daughter, Kathy Siler and her husband Tom of Willow Park; grandchildren, Katy Shimer of Orlando, Fla., Rob Shimer of Thomasville, Jennifer Siler and Jeff Siler of Willow Park; sister, LaFrance Vans Evers and her husband Van of Tampa, Fla.; sister-in-law, Bobbye Tennis of Odessa; and several nieces and nephews.
Claude selected the following friends to serve him as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers: Paul Johnston, T.J. Smith, Cecil Raley, Don McCulloch, Alton Moore, Blackie Smyers, Wayne Matney, Carl Chambers, Gene Austin, B.D. Berryhill, James Solomon and Wes Reed.

Vallory Cook Orren
ODESSA — On July 29, 2001, Vallory Cook Orren stepped into the everlasting arms of her Lord and Savior.
Vallory was born Oct. 4, 1934, in Stephenville to Sawnie and Buton Cook and moved to Odessa in 1939. She attended Northside Elementary, the old Crockett Junior High and Odessa High School.
On March 7, 1952, Vallory married
William Kenneth Orren and during their 49 years together raised five children.
Vallory was a housewife and dedicated mother. She took a very active role in the lives of her children, serving as room mother, PTA member, Cub Scout Den Leader, Permian Band Booster and chaperone for the Permian Kantorei Choir. Having had five children attend Permian High School, Vallory became an avid Mojo football fan and held season tickets for over 20 years. She also spent countless hours doing intricate beadwork for members of the Lakota Indian Dance Team and was an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America.
Having raised her children, Vallory turned her energy in new directions. She became very active in the Women’s Auxiliary at Medical Center Hospital and spent many hours in service there. Vallory was a member of the Odessa High School Class of 1953 and very much enjoyed planning and attending class reunions. She was an active member of St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church, having served as a ruling elder on the church session, taught Sunday school, was a member of the Christian Education Committee, chairperson of the Kitchen Committee, team leader of her team of ushers and past president and current historian of the Cumberland Presbyterian Women.
Vallory was preceded in death by her father, Sawnie Abner Cook, and her sister, Dorothy Lynn Furry.
Vallory is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Odessa; mother, Buton Cook and sister, Joyce Hogan of Odessa; three sons, Don and wife Tami of Odessa, Rusty and wife Kathy of Bakersfield, Calif., and Blake of Odessa; two daughters, Tracy Smith and husband Walter and Kelly Boon and husband George of Odessa; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Lovell and John Huckaby, Joey, Jamie and Julie Hahn, Kory, K.C. and Stephanie Orren; and a great-grandchild, Isaac Lovell.
Services for Vallory Cook Orren are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dr. Craig Martindale officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 1, 2001, at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

James Lamothe
MONAHANS — James F. Lamothe, 78, of Pyote, a retired pipe fitting and welding supervisor, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Big Spring.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Fickenscher officiating. Burial will be at the Pyote cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
He was born in Goldthwaite and was a resident of Pyote for 20 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Lutheran.

OJINAGA, Mexico — Tomasa Franco Payen, 92, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at an Odessa care center.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Nuestro Padre Jesus Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ultimo Refugio cemetery. Arrangements by Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.
She was born in Mulato.
