ODESSA — Henry Pleasant Jr., 70, of Odessa, a retired self-employed landscaper, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Martinez Funeral Home with the Rev. Darren Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Ector County cemetery.
He was born in Temple.

FORT STOCKTON — Dean Whitley, 75, of Fort Stockton, an oilfield superintendent, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, in Fort Stockton.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jim Miles officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in Ballinger and had lived in Pecos County since 1963. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Carol Bynum of San Antonio and Cathy Broyles of Lamesa; son, Carl Whitley of Austin; mother, Emma Whitley of Gainesville; sister, Dorothy Kyle of Gainesville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Louise H. York, 87, of Odessa died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at Avalon Place.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors chapel with the Rev. Dave Dinneen officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. MDT at Carlsbad cemetery in Carlsbad, N.M. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Carlsbad, N.M., and lived in Midland and Waco before moving to Odessa in 1991. She was Methodist.

Anita Musgrove Clover
ODESSA — Mrs. Anita Musgrove Clover, 91, of Denton, formerly of Odessa, died Monday, July 30, 2001, in Denton.
She was born Jan. 28, 1910, in Big Spring. She married
the late Carlos L. Clover on Jan. 26, 1929.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Odessa, Thursday Study Club, Federated Woman’s Club since 1941, serving in all offices, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, DAR, founding member of the Perky Peers at church and Circle Chair Member of the church’s Fidelis Class.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at First United Methodist Church of Odessa with the Rev. Bill Heggemeier officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Odessa or Clover House in Odessa.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Louis Clover.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Pat Gobble of Denton; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
DeBerry Funeral Directors of Denton is in charge of arrangements.

SANFORD, Fla. — Lourine Messenger, 92, mother of the late Walter Beal, died Monday, July 23, 2001, in Sanford, Fla.
Lourine had visited Odessa for many years and made many friends here.
She is survived by daughter-in-law, Mrs. Walter (Helen) Beal of Odessa; grandsons, Sam of Mountain View, Calif., David of Odessa and Steven of El Paso; great-grandson, Garnet of El Paso; sisters, Theo Vickery of Key West, Fla., and Flossie Lee of Lattimore, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at First Presbyterian Church of Sanford with the Rev. Bruce Scott officiating.

ODESSA — Amparo Acedo, 77, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

She was born in Ojinaga, Mexico. She was Catholic.

She was born in Fairfield and moved to Odessa in 1952. She was Baptist.

ODESSA — Clare Avery Meisinger, 89, of Odessa, a retired business executive in the energy industry, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2001, at his residence.

He was born in Perry, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1988 from San Diego.
