STANTON — Billy Hamilton, 70, of Stanton, a retired social worker, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at a Midland hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel with the Rev. Craig Martindale officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.
He was born in Rule. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Nita Hamilton of Stanton; daughter, Becky Moore of Odessa; sister, Bernie Spinks of Stanton; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Jonnie Hicks
ODESSA — Jonnie Sue Hicks, 51, of Odessa, a nurse’s aide, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel Assembly of God Church with the Rev. John Van Hoose officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. MST at Prairie Haven cemetery in Hobbs, N.M. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Hobbs and moved to Odessa in 1993.
SURVIVORS: Husband, John Hicks of Odessa; daughter, Tobye Keeling of Odessa; sisters, Joyce Awalt of Odessa, Pegge Alcorn of Goose Creek, S.C., Pat Schrader of Ruidoso, N.M., and Bootsie Woodard of Hobbs; and two granddaughters.

Micela Martinez
ALPINE — Micela H. Martinez, 87, of Alpine, a retired employee of the state of Texas, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, in Carlsbad, N.M.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Angels cemetery. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.
She was born in Terlingua.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Maria Belen Gordon of Alpine and Lupe Rodriguez of Carlsbad; son, Miko Martinez of Fort Stockton; sisters, Enriquetta Molinar and Cruz Llanez, both of Alpine; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Eleuterio Ramos
ODESSA — Eleuterio Ramos, 73, of Odessa, a retired farmer, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, in Ojinaga, Mexico.
Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.
He was born in Mexico. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Ernesto Ramos of Odessa and Bonifacio Ramos of Midland; daughters, Elida Carrasco and Elma Ramos, both of Odessa, and Anna Ramos of Crane; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Marion Salgado Sr.
ODESSA — Marion Andrew “Andy” Salgado Sr., 66, of Odessa, a retired employee of the Ector County Park Department, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. today at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Chavez officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Big Spring and moved to Odessa in 1947. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Socorro Salgado of Odessa; sons, Alonzo Salgado, Javier Salgado, Marion Andrew Salgado Jr. and Estevan Salgado, all of Odessa, and Jaime Salgado of Midland; daughters, Rosario Fatima Salgado, Leticia Rojo and Elizabeth Valencia, all of Odessa; mother, Virginia Salgado of Odessa; brothers, Miguel Carlos Salgado, Cirilo Salgado Jr. and Antonio Salgado, all of Odessa, and Frederico Salgado of Garden City; sisters, Manuela Salgado, Maria Elena Rodriguez and Virginia Beltran, all of Odessa, and Herminia Vasquez of Albuquerque, N.M.; and 15 grandchildren.

Jacob Wake
ANDREWS — Jacob “Jake” Wake, 77, of Andrews, a retired tool pusher for Halliburton Corp., died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at Permian General Hospital in Andrews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Zap officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Nevada County, Ark., and moved to Andrews in 1952.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Julia Wake of Andrews; son, John Wake of Andrews; daughters, Susan Sickler of Snyder and Sherri Denby of Andrews; brother, Claude Wake of Arkansas; sisters, Faye Loe of Arlington, Reba Waters, Elsie Smith Peters and Jean Harris, all of Arkansas; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Woods
ODESSA — Kenneth Lee Woods, 54, of Odessa, an employee of Kent Oil Co., died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Odessa and was a lifelong resident. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Evonne Woods of Odessa; son, Michael Cogo Woods of Midland; father, Johnny M. Woods of Odessa; sister, Johnnie Dean Ayers of Odessa; and two grandchildren.

Frank Baca Jr.
BARSTOW — Frank “Poncho” Baca Jr., 57, of Pecos, a retired carpenter, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church with Rev. George Vasquez officiating. Burial will be at the Barstow cemetery. Arrangements by Peaceful Garden Funeral Home.
He was born in Barstow and was a lifelong resident of Pecos. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Jacob Baca and Johnny Baca, both of San Antonio; daughters, Janie Garcia and Elizabeth Garcia, both of San Antonio; brother, Juan Baca of Odessa; sisters, Grace Lopez, Linda Lopez, Millie Navarrete and Tillie Baca, all of Pecos, and Licha Ortiz of Monahans; and 16 grandchildren.

Callie Traylor
CHEROKEE COUNTY — Callie Mae Acker Traylor, 81, of Midland, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, in Midland.
Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. W.F. Sides and M.T. Blackman officiating. Burial was at Pleasant Grove cemetery. Arrangements by Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
She was born in Cherokee County and had been a resident of Midland for 21 years. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Alvin Traylor of Midland; sons, Joe Johnston of Jacksonville and Darrell Johnston of Van; daughters, Sarah King of Georgetown, Cherri Humphries, Vicki Miller and Beth Herndon, all of Midland; sister, Irene Blake of Jacksonville; brother, Jeff Acker of Rusk; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

LaVada Welch
ANDREWS — LaVada Welch, 62, of Andrews, retired owner and operator of the Pat Walker Salon in Andrews, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Hospice House of Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Boonsboro, Ark., and was a longtime resident of Andrews.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Clyde Welch of Andrews; sons, Mike Weis of Andrews and Matt Weis of Odessa; stepdaughter, Linda Davis of Andrews; parents, Edgar and Florance Walker of Waldon, Ark.; brother, Donald Walker of Gardendale; sisters, Nada Walker of Snyder, Jody Brown of Waldon and Sue Stewart of Coleman, Ala.; and four grandsons.

ODESSA — Sallie Bishop, 85, of Odessa died Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in Odessa.

MIDLAND — Eugenia M. Meierhoff, 74, of Odessa died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.

ODESSA — Angel Lujan, an infant, was stillborn Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

ODESSA — Oleta S. Messer, 80, of Goldsmith, a homemaker, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Chris’s Country Retirement Home.

She was born in Campti, La. She was Baptist.
