Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Odessa cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Wisner, La. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Les Thornburg of Odessa; daughters, Kim Dughman and Shannon Hardin, both of Tyler, and Christi Burritt of Odessa; brother, Ray Thornburg of Andrews; sister, Alberta Pruitt of Odessa; and eight grandchildren.

McKINNEY — Helen G. Yowell, 84, of Odessa, a retired bookkeeper for Sewell Ford Car Co., died Sunday, July 22, 2001, in Plano.
Services will be at noon Thursday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Burial will be private. Arrangements by Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Directors.
She was born in McKinney and was a longtime resident of Odessa. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

FORT DAVIS —James “Big Jim” Espy, 91, passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 in an Alpine hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bart Coan Field football field in Fort Davis with the Rev. Jim Stevens officiating. Dr. Alan Byrd will be assisting Stevens. A private family burial will follow at Hillcrest cemetery in Fort Davis. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born on May 26, 1910 in Fort Davis.
He was Presbyterian.

STANTON — R.L. Hughey, 82, of Odessa, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, in Odessa.

He was born on Oct. 17, 1919 in Howard County.

AMARILLO — Etta J. Sims, 53, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001 in Amarillo.

ODESSA —Jefferson M. Hamilton, 82, of Odessa, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 at Medical Center Hospital.

Annie Jim White
ODESSA — Annie Jim White, 79, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at her home. She was born June 20, 1922, in Kaufman.
Mrs. White came to Odessa in 1948. She worked for the First National Bank in Odessa for three years and retired from the Ector County Independent School District in July 1978 after 24 years of service. She was past president of the Odessa Educational Secretaries Association, vice president of the Texas Educational Secretaries Association, past matron of the Friendship Chapter No. 1008 of the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of PEO, Chapter DZ (a Philanthropic Educational Organization), a member of the American Business Women’s Association, Permian Chapter, member and past elder of First Presbyterian Church and had served on the American Cancer Board.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryant W. White in 1990.
She is survived by a sister, Katie Bratcher of Dallas; and nephew, Frank O. Garrett of Griffin, Ga.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. today, Sept. 13, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cheryl Homsher officiating. Interment will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Hospital for Crippled Children in Dallas or Home Hospice of Odessa.

Melvin Allison
ODESSA — Melvin Allison, 70, of Odessa died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at his home in Odessa.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at the McKenzieville cemetery near Robert Lee with the Rev. Tom Hiser officiating. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Mr. Allison was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Silver. He had lived in Odessa since 1964. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. He was a tool pusher and had worked for A.W. Thompson for 26 years and had worked for Santa Fe Drilling until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Loye Marrs of Odessa; two sons, Melvin L. Allison and his wife Marsha of Odessa and Randy Allison and his wife Debbie of Crowley; and four grandsons, Jeff Marrs, Landen Marrs and Darren Marrs, all of Odessa, and Brandon Allison of Keller.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Pedro Hernandez
MARATHON — Pedro Hernandez, 91, of Marathon, a retired farmer, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, in Fort Stockton.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Ricardo Ruiz officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be at the Marathon cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Boquillas del Carmen, Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Delfina de Leon Hernandez of Marathon; sons, Juan Hernandez, Alfonso Hernandez, Alberto Hernandez, Manuel Hernandez and Luis Hernandez, all of Marathon, Jose Hernandez, Pedro Hernandez Jr., Domingo Hernandez and Javier Hernandez, all of Mexico; daughter, Elvira Hernandez of Fort Stockton; 53 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
