KERMIT — Phillip R. “Purr” Campbell, 46, of Kermit, a field superintendent for the Campbell Family oil, gas and agriculture business, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born in Corpus Christi and was a lifelong resident of Kermit. He was Baptist.

McCAMEY — John C. Fowler, 73, of McCamey, a retired mechanic, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at his residence.

He was born in Wellington and was a resident of McCamey since 1936. He was an Army veteran.
