BIG SPRING — Grace L. Owen, 80, of Big Spring, a homemaker, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at her residence.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Drs. Randy Cotton and Claude Craven officiating. Burial was at Trinity Memorial Park. Arrangements by Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home.
She was born in Thrift and was a resident of Big Spring since 1957. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Eddie Owen Jr. of Odessa and Henry Owen of Midland; daughters, Edna L. Owen and Sandy Wright, both of Big Spring, and Loretta Owen of Graham; sisters, Mattie Sue Brooks and Lena Marie Entrop, both of Wichita Falls; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

ANDREWS — Georgia Stubbs Armstrong, 81, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at her residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glenda Massey officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Knox City and moved to Andrews in 1994. She was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Husband, H.C. “Jake” Armstrong of Andrews; daughter, Roxy Baber of Andrews; brothers, Jack Stubbs of Knox City and Vern Stubbs of Lawn; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Tommy McKibben
LUBBOCK — The Rev. Tommy McKibben, 58, of Lubbock died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in Lubbock.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Word Aflame Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Michael Bingham and Dale Bostic officiating. Burial will be at Nevels Memorial Park in Tahoka. Arrangements by White Funeral Home.
He was born in O’Donnell and moved to Lubbock in 1977 from Grants, N.M.

ODESSA — Joe Ruth “Mama Joe” Rittiman, 75, of Odessa, a retired foodservice worker, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, in Odessa.

FORT STOCKTON — Sulema U. Rodriguez, 83, of Fort Stockton, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, in Midland.

She was born in Lajitas and was a lifelong resident of Fort Stockton. She was Catholic.

Wesley Stephens
STANTON — Wesley Isaac Stephens, 56, of Midland, a taxi cab owner, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Big Spring.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Darrel Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.
He was born in Hamlin. He was an Army veteran.

MIDLAND — Maria Rivera, 57, of Midland died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.

Floy Catherine Hawkins
ODESSA — Floy Hawkins, age 87, of Austin died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Breckenridge Hospital in Austin. She was born Dec. 30, 1913, in Corell County to Fred and Betty Waddill.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Revs. Julian Davis and Verna Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was raised on ranches and farms in East Texas. She married
William Bun Hawkins on March 9, 1933, in Coleman. They lived in Menard and then settled in Odessa in 1955. She was a member of Tree of Life Foursquare Gospel Church in Odessa. She spent many hours in prayer for those in need. She was the matriarch and backbone of the whole family.
Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by her husband, William Bun Hawkins; son, Don Ray Hawkins; and a grandson, Jay Max Hawkins.
She is survived by sons, Jerry Hawkins and Billy Hawkins of Odessa; daughter, Rita Belmore of Point Venture; nine grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Helen Grace Pettit
ODESSA — Helen Grace Pettit, 86, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village. She was born April 21, 1915, in Sweetwater. She married
William “Bill” Pettit on May 9, 1937, in Seymour. He preceded her in death March 16, 2001.
Mrs. Pettit was a member of the Democratic Women’s Club, Permian Basin Genealogical Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Texas Old 300, Thursday Study Club and First Christian Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Carl S. Grover and Ila Patterson Goodwin; stepfather, Walter Goodwin; and brother, Pat Goodwin.
She is survived by daughters, Sheridan Moore of San Antonio and Ann Hauber and husband Tom of Missouri City; sister-in-law, Joy Goodwin of Midland; five grandchildren, Margaret Mercer, Alice and Bill Moore and Kevin and Katherine Hauber; three great-grandchildren, Billy, Erin Ledbetter and Joseph Gross; and nephew, Mike Goodwin and wife Elisa of Houston.
The family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at First Christian Church.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. David Mindel officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Odessa or the Ector County Public Library.

ODESSA — Patsy Jean Griffith, 72, of Odessa, a retired registered nurse at Medical Center Hospital, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2001, at MCH.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Burial will be at the Pioneer cemetery in Pioneer. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Smithfield. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

She was born in Mexico and moved to Seminole in 1983 from Mexico. She was Mennonite.
