She was born in Portales, N.M., and was a resident of Monahans since 1939. She was Baptist.

MIDLAND - Ethel Mae Howell, 90, of Midland, retired owner and operator of the Decorating Center in Midland, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, in Breckenridge.
Services were Nov. 28 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Hopkins officiating. Burial followed at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Waco and moved to Midland in 1940. She was Baptist.

He was born in Arizona. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Dr. Edwin T. Blair
ODESSA Dr. Edwin T. Blair, 83, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1918, in Paris, Ark. He moved to Odessa in 1946 after serving in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. He married
Phyllis Adams on Nov. 21, 1950, in Odessa.
Dr. Blair was a pediatric dentist. He practiced in Odessa many years and retired in 1987. He was a life member of the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He was also a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Phyllis of Odessa; son, Phillip Theron Blair of Fort Worth; daughters, Betsy Blair of Manhattan, Kan., and Sallie A. Blair of Midland; and eight grandchildren.
The family will meet with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Ernest Easley officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at the Oakwood cemetery in Paris, Ark.

Royce C. Mitchell Sr.
ODESSA Royce C. Mitch Mitchell Sr. of Odessa has gone home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001. He was born Nov. 15, 1932, in Eastland County.
Mitch was preceded in death by his sister, Maxine Swindle; parents, Emmitt and Josie Mitchell; grandson, Jeff Mitchell; and father-in-law, Benito Garcia.
Mitch is survived by his wife, Mary Mitchell of Odessa; son, Royce C. Mitchell Jr. of Odessa; daughter, Marla K. Cranson of Odessa; and three stepdaughters, Patricia Rodriguez, Pamela Rodriguez and Nancy Chavez, all of Odessa. Mitch had 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He also had numerous nieces and nephews. Mitch is also survived by a brother, Joe Mitchell of Abilene, and sisters, Midge Green of Fort Worth and Dean Morris of Granbury.
Visitation will begin from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Emmitt Barnard officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Les Mitchell, Wade Mitchell, Donny Mitchell, Joe Dan Mitchell, Dimas Chavez and Justin Cortez.

ODESSA Serenity Johna Alexander, an infant, was stillborn Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.

Matthew Wayne Lummus
ODESSA Matthew Wayne Lummus, 41, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at his home after a lengthy illness. Matthew was born Oct. 27, 1959, in Odessa to Edward and Odessa Lummus.
Matthew graduated from Permian High in 1978 where he played baseball with the Panthers and Downtown Lions Club. He married
his wife of 22 years in Odessa Sept. 15, 1979. He was a longtime employee of Southdown as a welder. He was a member of the Union Trustee at Grace Baptist Church.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. William Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
Survivors include his wife, Erin of Odessa; son, Christopher Lummus of Odessa; daughter, Rebecca Dawn Lummus of Odessa; parents, Arlen and Odessa Lummus of Odessa; brother, Damon Lummus of Odessa; sister, Pam McCollum of Odessa; grandmother, Hazel Lummus of Odessa; and numerous aunts, uncles and nephews.
