He was born in Trenton, Fannin County, and moved to Midland in the late 1930s. He was a Baptist.

ROBY - Artie Martin, 81, a cotton farmer and cattle rancher, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1997, at Windcrest Alzheimer Care Center in Abilene.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Roby with the Rev. Mickey Wagoner officiating. Burial will be at the Roby cemetery. Arrangements by Weathersby Funeral Home.
He was born in Rotan, and was a lifelong resident of Roby. He was a Baptist.

He was born in St. Tammaney, La., and moved to Andrews in 1956 from Poplarville, Miss. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
