W.A. “Bill” Langston
ODESSA - Services for W.A. “Bill” Langston, 68, of Odessa were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Amon Langston officiating. Masonic graveside rites followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Langston died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born April 7, 1933, in Calhoun City, Miss. to Oscar and Valeria Mae Langston. He served in the U.S. Army 1953-55. He married
Rosella Beasley on March 31, 1956, in Anson. He achieved York Rite and Scottish Rite and had been High Priest, Worshipful Master and had held many other positions in the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Langston of the home; a son, Bobby Jack Langston and his wife Doronna of Odessa; a daughter, Tandra Lee Pomeroy of Odessa; a sister, Anice Lowry and her husband Bob of Byhalia, Miss.; five grandchildren, Jerrod, Amanda and Jenifer Langston, Cimmaron and Warren Pomeroy; and a sister-in-law, Pat Rice of Abilene.
Services were entrusted to Frank. W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
James Edward Puga
ODESSA - James Edward Puga, 63, of Odessa passed away at Medical Center Hospital on Monday, December 31, 2001.
He was born October 11, 1938 in Westbrook, Texas, to Frank and Virgie Puga.
He was a lifetime resident of the Permian Basin. He was a self-employed maint-enance contractor for about 20 years. He loved to restore old cars. He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Church.
James is preceded in death by both his parents and four half brothers, Nickolas Puga, Albert Puga, Antonio Puga and Salvador Puga.
Survivors include wife, Elodia Puga of Odessa; two sons, Eddie Puga and wife Gracie of Odessa, and Mike Puga and wife Manuela of Odessa; two granddaughters Ashley Puga and Kristine Puga both of Odessa; three sisters Betty Sanchez of Big Spring, Pat Jimenez of Big Spring and Mary Unquidez of Ft. Worth; four brothers Charlie Puga of Odessa, Johnny Puga of Big Spring, Freddy Puga of Big Spring and Ricky Puga of Ft. Worth; three half-brothers, Jose Puga of El Paso, Alfredo Puga of California and Clemente Puga of El Paso; and two half sisters Linda Knight of El Paso and Elvira Gomez of Illinois.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 1, 2001.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

STANTON - Rudy Arredondo, 49, of Midland, a cement construction worker, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, in Midland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. George Thirumangalam officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery.

Kermit - Arthenia Delores Denman Spinks, 88, of Nashville, Tenn., died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at the Alive Hospice House in Nashville.

She was a 54-year resident of Kermit.

ODESSA - Haskell Baker, 83, of Odessa, a retired welder for Shell Pipeline Co., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1958. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
