W.A. “Bill” Langston
ODESSA - Services for W.A. “Bill” Langston, 68, of Odessa were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Amon Langston officiating. Masonic graveside rites followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Langston died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born April 7, 1933, in Calhoun City, Miss. to Oscar and Valeria Mae Langston. He served in the U.S. Army 1953-55. He married Rosella Beasley on March 31, 1956, in Anson. He achieved York Rite and Scottish Rite and had been High Priest, Worshipful Master and had held many other positions in the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Langston of the home; a son, Bobby Jack Langston and his wife Doronna of Odessa; a daughter, Tandra Lee Pomeroy of Odessa; a sister, Anice Lowry and her husband Bob of Byhalia, Miss.; five grandchildren, Jerrod, Amanda and Jenifer Langston, Cimmaron and Warren Pomeroy; and a sister-in-law, Pat Rice of Abilene.
Services were entrusted to Frank. W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

James Edward Puga
ODESSA - James Edward Puga, 63, of Odessa passed away at Medical Center Hospital on Monday, December 31, 2001.
He was born October 11, 1938 in Westbrook, Texas, to Frank and Virgie Puga.
He was a lifetime resident of the Permian Basin. He was a self-employed maint-enance contractor for about 20 years. He loved to restore old cars. He was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Church.
James is preceded in death by both his parents and four half brothers, Nickolas Puga, Albert Puga, Antonio Puga and Salvador Puga.
Survivors include wife, Elodia Puga of Odessa; two sons, Eddie Puga and wife Gracie of Odessa, and Mike Puga and wife Manuela of Odessa; two granddaughters Ashley Puga and Kristine Puga both of Odessa; three sisters Betty Sanchez of Big Spring, Pat Jimenez of Big Spring and Mary Unquidez of Ft. Worth; four brothers Charlie Puga of Odessa, Johnny Puga of Big Spring, Freddy Puga of Big Spring and Ricky Puga of Ft. Worth; three half-brothers, Jose Puga of El Paso, Alfredo Puga of California and Clemente Puga of El Paso; and two half sisters Linda Knight of El Paso and Elvira Gomez of Illinois.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 1, 2001.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Rudy Arredondo
STANTON - Rudy Arredondo, 49, of Midland, a cement construction worker, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, in Midland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. George Thirumangalam officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery.
Arrangements by Stanton Memorial Funeral Home.
SURVIVORS: Mother, Simona Garcia of Midland; sons, Rudy Arredondo Jr. and Robert Arredondo, both of Abilene; brothers, Edward Arredondo of Houston, John Arredondo and Robert Arredondo, both of Midland; sisters, Irma Salgado of Stanton, Consuelo Pena of Houston and Anita Mireles of Odessa; and four grandchildren.

Kendall Lee Belles
PECOS - Kendall Lee Belles, 58, of Pecos, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Pecos with the Rev. Bruce Abbott officiating. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Suzi Belles of Pecos; sons, Kendal Belles of Fort Hood and Stephen Young of Austin; daughters, Sandy Belles of Pecos and Stephanie Braun of Indianapolis, Ind.; mother, Rose Belles of Indianapolis, Ind.; brothers, Phil Belles of Brementon, Wash., Keith Belles of Aspinwall, Pa., Kevin Belles of Gurnee, Ill., Steve Belles and Bill Belles, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Barbara Larson of Barian, Ill., Cathy Colwell of Apache, Okla., Theresa Wisehart and Linda Pierce, both of Indianapolis, Ind., Ginny Blevins of New Palestine, Ind., and Rita Charman of Ranger; and three grandchildren.

Wayne Lee Cawley
ODESSA - Wayne Lee “Slim” Cawley, 73, of Odessa, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with the Rev. Randall Courtney officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Grandview.
SURVIVORS: Son, Grant Cawley of Odessa; brothers, Jim Cawley, Nate Cawley, and Terry Cawley all of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

G.R. Chenot
ODESSA - G.R. “Dick” Chenot, 86, of Odessa, a retired geologist, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Carol Chenot of Odessa; son, Paul Chenot of Odessa; sisters, Marie Kettering of Canton, Ohio, Marjorie Cox of Hartville, Ohio and Pauline Jacob of Canton, Ohio; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren

Arthenia Delores
Denman Spinks
Kermit - Arthenia Delores Denman Spinks, 88, of Nashville, Tenn., died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at the Alive Hospice House in Nashville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow at the Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.
She was a 54-year resident of Kermit.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Billy Spinks of Eden, Utah, Wallace Spinks of Redding, Calif., Michael Spinks of Austin and Patrick Spinks of Arkadelphia, Ark.; daughter, Bobby Byers of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Debbie Smith
ODESSA - Debbie Ann Benton Smith, 44, of Odessa, a pharmacy tech, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was a life-long resident of Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Johnny Smith Jr. of Odessa; step-son, Kenneth Smith of Bracken; step-daughter, Jennifer Whitmore of New Braunfels; brother, Billy Dickerson of Corpus Christi; and mother, Alene Jones of Andrews.

Jerrie Trower
ANDREWS - Jerrie Trower, 58, of Andrews, a business owner, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church of Andrews with the Revs. Doug Kello and Bert Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Jerry Trower of Andrews; son, Tim Trower of Greenville; daughter, Stephanie Trower of Odessa; sister, Verlene LaRue of Texico, N.M.; and two grandchildren.

Elsie Davis
KERMIT - Elsie Davis, 82, of Kermit, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at her home in Kermit.
Services are pending with Cooper Funeral Chapel in Kermit.
She was a 25-year resident of Kermit.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Dolly Kocsis of Gallup, N.M.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Guadalupe Romero
ODESSA - Guadalupe Romero, 40, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at his residence.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Haskell Baker
ODESSA - Haskell Baker, 83, of Odessa, a retired welder for Shell Pipeline Co., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Okla., and moved to Odessa in 1958. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: Son, Ronnie Baker of Texas; daughter, Donna K. Allen of Graham; brothers, Willard Baker of Ardmore, Okla., and Wayne Baker of Abilene; sister, Mary E. Harrell of Carlsbad, N.M.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
