Raymond Johnson Jr.
KINGSLAND - Raymond N. “Neill” Johnson Jr., 73, of Marble Falls, co-owner of Brakes & Wheels in Odessa for six years, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, in Austin.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Highland Lakes United Methodist Church with the Rev. L.C. Johnston officiating. Arrangements by Edgar Funeral Home in Marble Falls.
He was born in Hot Springs, Ark. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Nancy Johnson of Marble Falls; sons, R. Neill Johnson III of Odessa, Clark Johnson of Fort Worth, and Marvin Shurley and Mason Shurley, both of Sonora; daughter, Derry Summer of Kingwood; brothers, Monte Johnson of Llano, Joe Johnson of Longview, and Jack Johnson of Palmer Lake, Colo.; and nine grandchildren.

Paul Johnston
ODESSA - Paul W. Johnston, 78, of Odessa, a retired plumber, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Hospice House.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jim Ray Brown officiating. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
He was born in Brazos and was an Odessa resident since 1950.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Faye Johnston of Odessa; son, David Johnston of Riverside, Calif.; daughters, Paula Thacker and Peggy Wadle, both of Odessa; brother, Royce Johnston of Azle; sisters, Ida Cox of Odessa and Nita Gross of Roswell, N.M.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Neas
ODESSA - Mary Sue Wisdom Neas, 93, of Odessa died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at her residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Steve Trout and Norman Grigsby officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Lincoln, Mo. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Niece, Charlene Wisdom.

Manuel Rodriguez
ODESSA - Manuel C. “Meme” Rodriguez, 58, of San Angelo, a truck driver, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Del Rio and had been a resident of Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Albert Rodriguez and Manuel Rodriguez Jr., both of San Angelo; brother, Luis Rodriguez of Odessa; sister, Rosa Tavarez of San Angelo; mother, Maria Rodriguez of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

Elmer Moore
ODESSA - Elmer JoeAllen Moore, 63, of Odessa died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Morris Sturdivant
BIG SPRING - Morris Weldon Sturdivant, 89, of Big Spring died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at a local hospital.
Services are pending with Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Lore Cherry
ODESSA - Lore 'Gina' Cherry, 76, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Clydell Chapman officiating. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Germany.
SURVIVORS: Son, Glen Cherry of Odessa; daughters, Judy Wilson of Austin and Dorothey McClure of Crane; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Charles Hopkins
ODESSA - Charles Hopkins, 61, of Odessa, a retired truck driver, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at his residence.
Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Friday at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Shuqualak, Miss.
SURVIVOR: Aunt, Kathryn L. Hopkins of St. Louis.

Velton Kerr
FORT STOCKTON - Velton A. Kerr, 78, of Fort Stockton, retired owner and operator of a salvage yard, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, in Fort Stockton.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. A.D. Jackson officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
He was born in New Madrid, Mo., and was a resident of Fort Stockton since 1944.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Claudette Kerr of Fort Stockton and Frances Kerr of Yuma, Ariz.; sister, Ima Jean Herbert of Spotsylvania, Va.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

John Lee
ANDREWS - John E. Lee, 71, of Andrews, a retired manager for National Oil Well Co., died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, in Aurora, Colo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Andrews Church of Christ with Mark Wilson officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Goodnight and moved to Andrews in 1973 from Hobbs, N.M. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Wanda Lee of Andrews; sons, David Lee of Aurora and John Norman Lee of Lubbock; sister, Gladys Howard of Wichita Falls; and five grandchildren.

Erma Pickett
ODESSA - Erma Pickett, 89, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Dickerson officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas, Ark. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Reyno, Ark. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Frank Pickett of Odessa; and two grandchildren.

Vera Wallace
BALLINGER - Vera Opal Wallace, 76, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, at her residence.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Rains-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Swindler officiating. Burial will be at the Concho cemetery in Concho. Arrangements by Rains-Seale Funeral Home.
She was born in Bell County and had been a resident of Paint Rock. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Joyce Ritchey of Dryden and Carol Hill of Odessa; two sisters; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Lizzie Murphey
ODESSA - Lizzie Faye Murphey, 88, of Odessa died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2001, at her residence.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Josefa Equinones
DALLAS - Josefa Equinones, 88, formerly of Odessa, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, in Dallas. She was born April 12, 1913, in Candelaria. She had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Odessa.
Her husband, Guillermo Equinones, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Equinones (Beatrice) of Dallas and Joel Equinones of San Jose, Calif.; three daughters, Crus Jaeckle (Henry) and Lupe Perkins (Earl), both of Dallas, and Eloisa Rosales of Arlington; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas with the Rev. Gilbert Graham of St. Jude Chapel officiating at the rosary and graveside service.
