Frankie 'Suzie' Hall
ODESSA - Frankie “Suzie” Hall, 65, of Odessa went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, after a short illness.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. today, Oct. 19, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Alkire officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Baker, Lucas Bedrick, Chris Hodge and Danny Hockett.
She was born Sept. 13, 1936, in Hodge, La. She married
Buddy Hall in Odessa in 1975. He preceded her in death in May 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She served as president of Theta Rho and was also a member of Monahans Rebekah Lodge No. 27. She was a graduate of Aladdin Beauty College. She enjoyed singing in church and also used this talent in many beauty pageants. Her favorite pastime was working as a seamstress and crocheting.
She is survived by daughter, Debbie Horrell of Odessa; two sons, Donald Baker and wife LaVona and Darren Baker and wife Doris, all of Odessa; sister, Betty Sue Sellars of Coleman; six grandchildren, James Baker and wife Angela, Tanya Bedrick and husband Luke, Danny Hockett and wife Dee Dee, Glenda Holley and Cory Horrell, all of Odessa, and Amy Hodge and husband Chris of Midland; and six great-grandchildren.

Deborah White
MIDLAND - Deborah White died Oct. 13, 2001, at her Odessa residence.
A visitation has been set from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 19, 2001, at Ellis Funeral Home. Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Ronnie Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview cemetery.
Deborah Clydene White was born March 19, 1951, in Midland. She was an independent consultant in the advertisement industry.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Radford C. Thomson in 1994.
She is survived by her mother, Grace Marie Olliff-Thomson of Santa Anna, Calif.; her sons, Marshall Todd Cooper and his wife Jennifer of Boca Raton, Fla., Paul Linton Cooper of Atlanta, Ga., and Austin Michael Yengst of Boca Raton, Fla.; her brother, Bill Thomson of Orange, Calif.; and other relatives, Clyde Davis Wright, Gary Cooper, Michael Yengst, Donald Meshirer and Andrew White.
John Hollowell
ODESSA - Joe L. Hollowell, age 78, of Odessa died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at his residence. He was born Oct. 27, 1922, in Nolan County.
Mr. Hollowell was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 44th Division during World War II. He came to Odessa in 1960 from Nolan County. He worked for Sage Energy for 20 years.
At Mr. Hollowell’s request, he will be cremated so there will be no viewing or services.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Hollowell, a son, Audie Hollowell; and granddaughters, Tamera and Shelby Hollowell, all of Odessa.
Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Eula Mae Wright
ODESSA - Eula Mae Wright, age 94, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002, at Seabury Center. She was born Feb. 11, 1907, in Minter, Lamar County. She was the oldest child of Walter Patterson and Melissie Brown Patterson.
She married
Hiram J. Wright on Nov. 22, 1930. He preceded her in death in November 1975. Her parents and her brothers, Elmer “Boog” Patterson and Homer Patterson, also preceded her in death.
Eula lived in Bisbee, Ariz., for 35 years and moved to Odessa in 1978 to be near her daughter and family. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Jolly Seniors as long as she was physically able. Eula resided at Lincoln Towers for eight years. She worked as a welder in Portland, Ore., shipyards from 1943 to 1945.
She is survived by her daughter, Bobbye Miller and her husband Eugene of Odessa; sons, Harold Wright of Yuman, Ariz., and Fred Wright and his wife Evelyn of La Habra, Calif.; brother, Leonard Patterson of Fort Worth; sisters, Joyce Hailey of Arlington, Dorothy Gledhill of Loveland, Colo., and Marie Briley of Hewitt; sister-in-law, Flore Mae Patterson of Midland; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at the Memory Gardens in Bisbee, Ariz., where she will be buried next to her husband.

Odis E. “Curly” Nelson
ODESSA - Odis E. “Curly” Nelson, 89, of Owasso, Okla., formerly a longtime Odessa resident, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at Select Specialty Hospital.
He was born July 27, 1912, to Robert and Ethel Nelson in Antlers, Okla. He was in the Army Air Corps from 1942 until 1945. He was a master sergeant serving in the 44th bomber group stationed in England where he flew the B-224 bomber. He was twice decorated with an Air Medal and Bronze Star. He married
Mary Goad on June 20, 1948, in Durant, Okla. That year they moved to Odessa from Oklahoma. He retired from Exxon as a pumper in 1975. He loved to travel by RV and go camping. He made friends easily and loved to talk and joke. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
His wife preceded him in death in 1993.
Survivors include his daughter, Helga Bevel and husband Dennis of Owasso, Okla.; sisters, Viola Mullings of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Anna Belle Morgan of Longview; and a grandchild, Krystal Bevel of Owasso, Okla.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bill Heggemeier officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Earnest Kelly Bostick
TYLER - Graveside services for Mr. Earnest Kelly Bostick, 76, of Tyler are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today, Jan. 26, 2002, at the Cathedral in the Pines cemetery with the Rev. Mary Maxine Palmer officiating under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors.
Mr. Bostick died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, in Tyler. He was born April 13, 1925, in Big Spring where he graduated high school and was drafted into the military. He served in the South Pacific during World War II with the Army Air Force. He flew in 25 missions including the Philippines, Dutch East Indies and Borneo and then received an honorable discharge. He graduated from TCU in 1948, moving to Odessa and working in the oilfields as an accountant with Sivalls Tanks for 14 years, moving then to Hobbs, N.M., and starting his own oilfield tank service company. He moved to Tyler in 1969 where he began operating his own building and remodeling company until 1980 and then began work for the City of Tyler as a department manager for numerous divisions for the city. He was retired from the City of Tyler at his death.
His parents and three brothers precede him in death.
Mr. Bostick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Libby Bostick of Tyler; sons, Earnest Kelly Bostick Jr. of Cody, Wyo., and Blake M. Bostick of Oklahoma City; daughters, Valenda Axelrad of Houston and Vanessa Bostick of Greenville; brothers, Hollis Lloyd Jr. of Austin, Leamon “Bud” Bostick of Florida and Horace Bostick of Snyder; sister, Ella Cox of Odessa; and six grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are E.K. Bostick Jr., Blake M. Bostick, Hollis Lloyd Jr., Horace Bostick, Leamon “Bud” Bostick, Gus Bikerdike, Bud Brooker and Rick Finch.

Dillard Lloyd Handlin
KERMIT - Dillard Lloyd Handlin, 89, of Kermit passed away Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at his residence. He was born Jan. 8, 1912, in Comanche County. He had lived in Kermit since 1936 and was a retired trucking contractor.
He married
Pansy Louise Mulloy on June 14, 1934, and together they had four sons, Don and wife Deanna of Mason, Phil and wife Kristin of El Paso, Barry of Midland and Larry and wife Jane of Odessa. They all survive him along with seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Jim of Hollywood, Fla., and three sisters, Lois White and Opal Gleaton of Odessa and Robbie Martello of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hudie and Lou Wranza Handlin, and his brothers, Fred and Clifford.
He worked for Farmers Produce in Comanche until hitch hiking to the oilfields of Winkler County in 1935. He helped build the Magnolia (later Mobil) gasoline plant outside Kermit at which he worked until 1944 and built the family’s first house in Kermit himself in 1937.
About the only thing in Kermit at that time was the courthouse with a fence around it, the post office and a few store buildings. The streets had no names and there were two sandy ruts in front of his house where cars often got stuck. The young family had no electricity, gas or water. They hauled water from the courthouse and used kerosene for lights and heating.
Lloyd was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 1258 for 50 years, Scottish Rite, served 11 years on the Kermit School Board, served as director of the Chamber of Commerce and as a director of the Oilfield Haulers Association. He was honored as a Petroleum Pioneer in 1974 by the Permian Basin Oil Show.
He will be missed by so many people, but none more than by his wife and family.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at First Baptist Church in Kermit. Interment followed at the Kermit cemetery. Services entrusted to Cooper Funeral Chapel in Kermit.

Santos “Jungle Jim” Garza
ODESSA - Santos “Jungle Jim” Garza, 64, of 9875 W. 20th St. in Odessa, died at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born March 26, 1937, in Karnes City, the son of the late Juan Garza and the late Lorisa Valdez Garza.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Garza; his mother, Lorisa Valdez Garza; grandson, Lorenzo Garza; and sisters, Zulema Dutchover and Inez Mendez.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Garza; sons, Santos Garza Jr., Rene Garza and Mark Garza; daughters, Lupe Trevizo, Irene Becerra and Norma Solis; brothers, Victor Garza, Juan Garza, Domingo Garza, Salvador Garza and Tomas Garza; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Ector County cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home.

Joseph H. “Mickey” Mickley
ODESSA - Joseph H. “Mickey” Mickley went to be with our Lord on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001. He was born April 5, 1911, in the state of Ohio where he spent his youth and early adulthood. He served in the United States Army with the 17th Bomb Squadron during World War II and was honorably discharged Jan. 31, 1946.
His wife Billie Mickley preceded him in death in 1981.
He is survived by his daughter, Bettie Shipman and husband Jake of Jal, N.M., and grandchildren, Dennis Shipman and fiancee Judy of Odessa, Susan Bristow and husband Milton of Odessa and Jennifer Beckham and husband Keith of Jal. He was honored to have four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Mr. Mickley’s name to Meals on Wheels at 1313 E. Fifth St. in Odessa.
