Mary Sue Wisdom Neas
ODESSA - Mrs. Mary Sue Wisdom Neas passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at her residence.
She was born July 16, 1908, in Lincoln, Mo., to W.W. Wisdom and Ida Dale Wisdom. She later married
Guy B. Neas on May 18, 1934. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was the founder of Medical Center Auxiliary in February 1953. She worked with the auxiliary for 35 years and founded the Thursday Study Club. She served on Odessa Music Study Club, the board of the Great Southwest, served as president of the Texas Association of Hospital Auxiliaries 1960-61, organized the auxiliaries in Andrews, Crane and Fort Stockton and helped organize 14 auxiliaries total. She also served as chairman of the board of Rehabilitation Center. She was First Lady of Odessa in 1956 and AAUW Odessa Woman of the Year in 1984. She was member of State Mental Hospital Development Association and also served as secretary and treasurer of the board of directors.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy B. Neas, two brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by a niece, Charlene Wisdom.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 18, 2001, at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Steve Trout and Norman Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Paul W. Johnston
ODESSA - Paul W. Johnston, 78, of Odessa passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Hospice House in Odessa. He was born Oct. 31, 1923, in Brazos to David and Lela Johnston.
Paul had resided in Odessa since 1950, moving from Abernathy. He married
Clara Faye Alley on April 11, 1948, in Abernathy. He worked for D&W Plumbing for many years, retiring in 1985. He was a carpenter and also worked in the oilfield. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and loved bowling, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include a wife, Faye Johnston of Odessa; a son, David Johnston and wife Dana of Riverside, Calif.; two daughters, Paula Thacker and Peggy Wadle and her husband Mike, both of Odessa; a brother, Royce Johnston of Azle; two sisters, Ida Cox of Odessa and Nita Gross of Roswell, N.M.; five grandchildren, Kevin Johnston, Nicole Scott, Amber Lummus, Kimberlly Lummus and Kassie Wadle; two great-grandchildren, Scott and Delaney Johnston; and a nephew, Gene Wheeler.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jim Ray Brown officiating.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Alex Bond Roberts
KELLER - Alex Bond Roberts, 11, a student, went to be with God Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at a Fort Worth children’s hospital after an acute infection with complications of unknown juvenile diabetes.
She attended Red Apple Pre-K in Bedford, Shady Grove Elementary and South Keller Intermediate Schools in Keller. Alex was on the student council, EXCEL gifted program, Destination-Imagination Team, drama club and was an honor student at South Keller Intermediate School in Keller.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, W.B. “Bill” Roberts.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Wednesday at Northwood Church in Keller. Visitation and prayer service: 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at Northwood Church. Burial: Mount Olivet cemetery in Fort Worth.
