Frances Overton
MIDLAND - Frances Overton, 44, of Midland, an accountant for T. Bob Amthor Co. in Midland, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at an Odessa hospital.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jerry Hilton officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in San Angelo and had been a resident of Jal, N.M. She was Presbyterian.
SURVIVORS: Parents, Bob and Carey Overton of Midland; and brother, David Overton of Midland.

Imogene Petree
CRANE - Imogene “Gene” Petree, 80, of Crane, a homemaker, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Crane Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Tommy Parker and Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be at the Crane County cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born in DeKalb and was a longtime resident of Crane. She was Christian.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Wilburn Petree of Levelland and Bob Petree of Crane; daughter, Linda Edwards of Crane; brother, James John Kennedy of Crane; sisters, Jo Ann Myers of Arbuckle, Calif., and Shirley Stienberg of Crane; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

LaVell Bradford
ODESSA - LaVell Bradford, 79, of Odessa died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at her residence.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Santos Garza
ODESSA - Santos “Jungle Jim” Garza, 64, of Odessa died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Ronald “Ron” Gardner Reed
GARDNER, Kan. - Ronald “Ron” Gardner Reed, 75, of Wellsville, Kan., died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at the Wellsville Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Garden City, Kan., to Glenn McKinley Reed and Wilma Mayer Reed. He moved to Wellsville in 1984. Before moving to Wellsville, he had lived in Ottawa, Kan. He graduated from Galesburg Kansas High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947. He was a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in broadcasting and communications. He married Ruth Keller Reed June 6, 1953, in Lawrence, Kan. He was a sales manager for KOFO Radio Station in Ottawa for 15 years. He reenlisted in the Navy for service at the Pentagon after leaving Ottawa.
He was a member of the 15th Street Church of Christ in Ottawa. He was also a member of the Ottawa Lions Club and Gardner American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, and a sister, Iris Arnold.
Survivors include a son, James Patrick and wife Marilyn Reed of LeLoup, Kan.; a daughter, Karen Sue Reed of Odessa; a brother, Sam C. Reed of Austin; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner. Burial was at the Gardner cemetery. Military honors were held at the graveside services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wellsville Manor Nursing Home or 15th Street Church of Christ in Ottawa in care of Bruce Funeral Home, P.O. Box 192, Gardner, Kan., 66030.

Victor Yanez Jr.
BIG SPRING - Victor R. Yanez Jr., 58, of Big Spring, a retired employee of Fiberflex, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at his residence.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mount Olive Memorial Park. Arrangements by Myers and Smith Funeral Home.
He was born in Big Spring and was a lifelong resident. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Rosalinda Yanez of Big Spring; daughters, Cathy DeLos Santos of Odessa, Teresa Salazar of Big Spring, Ann Renteria of Cresson, Janell Martinez of Irving, Cassie Jeter of Colorado Springs, Colo., Gina Yanez and Tina Yanez, both of Corpus Christi; sons, Victor Yanez III, Rosendo Yanez and Rocky Yanez, all of Big Spring; brothers, David Yanez, Adam Yanez and Abraham Yanez, all of Big Spring, and Marcus Yanez of Richmond; sisters, Yolanda Phillips of Troy, Ill., and Gia Brooks of Austin; 19 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

James Cleveland
ODESSA - James Hubert Cleveland, 79, of Odessa died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was a WWII veteran. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Joyce Cleveland of Odessa; sons Bennie Cleveland of Odessa, and Archie Dishman of Greenville S.C.; daughter, Darlene Ingram of Guthrie, Okla.; sisters, Lois Boulter of Branson, M.O. and Lillie Mae Lukins of Sweetwater; and five grandchildren.

D.L. Handlin
KERMIT - D.L. “Lloyd” Handlin, 89, of Kermit, a retired truck driver, died Dec. 24, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. G.A. Magee and Earnest Wall officiating. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home.
He was born in Commanche County. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Pansy Handlin; sons, Don Lloyd Handlin of Mason, Phillip Lewis Handlin of El Paso, Barry Mulloy Handlin of Midland, Larry Neal Handlin of Odessa; brother, James Handlin of Hollywood F.L.; sisters, Opal Gleaton of Odessa, Lois White of Odessa, and Robbie Nell Martello; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Donna Kennedy
MONAHANS - Donna Kathleen Kennedy, 77, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Dec. 23, 2001, at Ward Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Harkey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Cox officiating. Burial will be at Monahans memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
She was born in Putnam. She was Christian.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jay Kennedy of Monahans; and daughter, Pam Bounds of Monahans.

Roland Vickrey
KERMIT - Roland Earl Vickrey, 63, of Kermit, a contract pumper, died Sunday Dec. 23, 2001, at his residence.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Belvue Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Braswell officiating. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home.
He was born in Goree. He was an Army veteran. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Katie Sue Vickrey of Kermit; sons, Shane Vickrey of Rowlett, and Lance Vickrey of Kermit; father, A.A. “Shorty” Vickrey of Kermit; sisters, Maurine of Kermit and Nadine of San Angelo; and two granddaughters.

Ernesto Yzaguirre
SEMINOLE - Ernesto Yzaguirre, 48, of Seminole, a shop foreman for Key Energy, died Sunday, Dec. 23 2001, at Memorial Hospital in Seminole.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Gaines County cemetery South. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.
He was born in Port Lavaca and was a long-time resident of Seminole. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: mother, Mary Yzaguirre of Denver City; ten brothers, Jessie Yzaguirre, Tony Yzaguirre, Jimmy Yzaguirre and Geronimo Yzaguirre of Denver City, Terry and Marcelo Yzaguirre, Jr. of Lubbock, Eddie Yzaguirre of Andrews, Johnny Yzaguirre of Victoria, Charlie Yzaguirre of Houston, and Ramiro Loa of S.C.; sisters, Mary Ellen Hammer of Midland, Margie Gordy of Amarillo, Emma Banda of Lubbock, and Eva Villarreal of Victoria.

Ralph Denton
MIDLAND - Ralph Durwood Denton passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, March 25, 2002.
Ralph was born Feb. 2, 1937, in Big Spring to Ralph Mitchell and Trella Aline Denton. On July 30, 1962, he married Carol Renee Keele in Blackfoot, Idaho. He has been a resident of Midland since his retirement after 20 years in the Navy in 1975. After retiring from the Navy, he was an insurance inspector for Hartford Steam Boiler Insurance and Inspection.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; and his brother, Kenneth.
Ralph is survived by his sons, Ralph Michael Denton and his wife Dana of Kingwood and Thomas Allen Denton and his wife Louise of Provo, Utah; and his daughter, Patricia Lynn McShane and her husband Darin of Katy. He is also survived by his brothers, Jerry and Bobby Denton of Carlsbad; his sisters, Lenna Mae Bradford of Carlsbad, Teresa Ann Burgin of Arlington and Diana O’Dwyer of Stephenville; and nine grandchildren, Taryn, Elizabeth, Hayden, Eyn, Shad, Jacob, Rachel, Colby and Trent.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 27, 2002, at Ellis Funeral Home.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4805 Gateway St. in Midland with Bishop Blaine J. Bushman officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

Samuel Roy Espinoza
ODESSA - Samuel Roy Espinoza, 43, of Odessa passed away Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born May 5, 1958, to Leopoldo and Elva Espinoza in Alpine.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Pastor Don Goforth officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 26, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel.
Samuel moved to Odessa in 1978 from Alpine. He worked for Standard Sales and Glaciers Wholesale for five years. He was an artist and a member of Fountain of Life Missionary Church.
Pallbearers will be Leo Espinoza Jr., Richard Aguilar, Joe Espinoza, Ruben Alvarado and Raymond Gonzalez.
His grandmother, Cande Molinar; his grandfather, Vicente Molinar; and his paternal grandparents, Manuel and Esequiel Espinoza preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Samuel Vincent Espinoza of Odessa; daughters, Brandy E. Aguilar, Jennifer Espinoza and Katie Espinoza, all of Odessa; parents, Elva Espinoza of Odessa and Leo Espinoza Sr. of Odessa and Alpine; brother, Leo Espinoza Jr. of Odessa; sisters, Candy Torres, Yvonne Espinoza and Melissa Alvarado, all of Odessa; grandchildren, Bryan J. Aguilar, Deaven Aguilar and Damian Espinoza; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
