ODESSA - Ruth McPherson Duzan, 91, of Odessa, a retired employee of Holcomb Variety Store, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with J. Von Gourley officiating. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hico cemetery in Hico. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Altman and was a resident of Odessa since 1953. She was Baptist.
SURVIVOR: Sister, Mary McPherson Lemley of Richardson.

Michael Jasin
MIDLAND - Michael Jasin, 82, of Midland, a retired plumber, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gale Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview cemetery. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born in Benld, Ill., and was a resident of Midland since 2000. He was a Navy veteran.
SURVIVORS: Son, James Jasin of Romeo, Mich.; daughters, Janis Filarski of Ray, Mich., Joyce McKelvey of Midland and Jane Jasin of Warren, Mich.; a brother; five sisters; and seven grandchildren.

Tommy Jones
ODESSA - Tommy C. “Uncle” Jones, 67, of Odessa, former owner of Tommy’s Trim Shop, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Brock.
SURVIVOR: Sister, Carol Steveson of Odessa.

Dorris Moss
EARLY - Dorris Moss, 81, of Brownwood, a retired nurse, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at a Brownwood nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Sammie Courington officiating. Burial will be at Jenkins Springs cemetery in Brown County. Arrangements by Heartland Funeral Home.
She was born in Ruleville, Miss., and had been a resident of Odessa before moving to Brownwood in 1970. She was an Army veteran of World War II. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Son, Dolton Moss of San Antonio; daughter, Judie Turner of Brownwood; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Mildred Qualls
MIDLAND - Mildred Aline Qualls, 81, of Midland, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center in Midland.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen’s Church with the Rev. James Bridges officiating. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Wilcox-Clements Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Marble Falls cemetery in Marble Falls. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
She was born in Holdenville, Okla., and had been a resident of San Antonio and Burleson before moving to Midland in 2000.
SURVIVORS: Son, Johnie Lee Qualls of Midland; sister, Holine Wilson of Duncan, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

McKINNEY - Herman Edward Boyd, 82, of McKinney died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, in McKinney.
Services are pending with Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

ODESSA - Rito Salazar Villalon, 27, of Odessa died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, in Odessa.

Benjamin Benavidez
VAN HORN - Benjamin Benavidez, 70, rancher, of Ruidosa, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at an El Paso hospital.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa with the Rev. Rick Ruiz officiating. Rosary will said at 7 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Merced cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home in Van Horn.
He was born in Sanderson. He was an Army veteran.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Benjamin D. Benavides of Presidio and Steve D. Benavidez of Big Bend National Park; daughters, Teresa B. Porras of Presidio and Louisa D. Benavidez of Edinburg; sister, Ida Taulbee of El Paso; and two grandchildren.

BARSTOW - Jose E. Bustillos, 83, of Barstow, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, in Ojinaga, Mexico.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church with the Rev. Manuel Munoz officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Barstow cemetery. Arrangements by Pecos Funeral Home.
He was born in Redford. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Miguel Bustillos of Midland, Juan Bustillos of Ojinaga, Mexico, and Roberto Castillo of Dallas; daughter, Juanita Galindo of Barstow; sister, Victorina Florez of Pecos; brother, Elijio Bustillos of Odessa; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

GRANBURY - S.E. Edwards, 76, of Grandbury, a retired auto mechanic, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at his residence.

He was born in Callahan County. He was a Navy veteran. He was a Jehovah’s Witness.

He was born in Brady and was a resident of Odessa for more than 50 years. He was Baptist.

MCCAMEY - Albino B. Luna, 69, of McCamey, a retired janitor, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at the McCamey Hospital.

ANDREWS - Ruth Thomas, 71, of Tulsa, Okla., retired school secretary, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at her home.

She was born in Konawa, Okla.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Vicki Lynn Mashunkashey of Tulsa, Cheryl Lanette Thomas of Andrews, and Connie Jean Atwood of Searcy, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Sybil Allison
ODESSA - Sybil LaVerne Allison, 62, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Oden officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Des Arc, Ark., and moved to Odessa in 1948.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Bill Allison of Cherokee, Jeff Barnes of North Richland Hills and Eddie Rich of Odessa; daughter, Brenda Richardson of Texas; sisters, Margaret Reed and Gloria Woods, both of Odessa; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
