Myrtis Idalou Conner
ODESSA - On Feb. 9, 2002, Myrtis Idalou Conner went home to be with the Lord, and now she is in His tender care.
She was born Myrtis Idalou Smith to James Arthur Smith and Nancy Viola Pool Smith June 19, 1916, in Dundee. Most of her life she lived in Odessa. She married
Ernest B. “Speck” Conner Nov. 14, 1936. Together they had a son, James Ronald Conner. She had a love for sewing and making clothes for family and friends. She loved to make draperies, crochet, do tatting and hand embroidery and was very talented and gifted in these areas. She also loved gardening very much and thought flowers were very special and beautiful. She spent many hours in her flower garden and was especially delighted in roses and iris. She realized that they were God’s gifts to us to share. She also loved to oil paint flowers and landscapes. Although Moma suffered a lengthy illness, in the end, she was at peace. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by a son, James Ronald Conner and his wife Pat of Odessa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pastor Mike Bartlett will officiate.

Siegfried J. Iverson Jr.
MIDLAND - Siegfried J. Iverson Jr. passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002.
Sig was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Amarillo to Siegfried and Marjorie Iverson. He grew up in Fort Worth and attended New Mexico Military Institute, SMU and Texas Wesleyan College. On June 28, 1958, he married
Carolyn Norman in Odessa.
He had worked in the oilfield trucking industry as a sales representative for many years. Sig was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, CAF and the Petroleum Club.
His father preceded him in death.
Sig is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Midland; son, S.J. “Trey” Iverson III of Odessa; daughter, Claire Iverson of Dallas; mother, Marjorie Iverson of Midland; brother, Wendell Iverson of Midland; and sister, Patsy Page of La Jolla, Calif. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 12, 2002, at Ellis Funeral Home.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bob Bullock officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clay J. Berry Jr., John N. McColm, Corky Bosworth, Danny Walker, Bill Mewhorter, Ralph Way, Pete Carter, Ed Brahaney, Dick Saxe, Gene Sledge and Jack Blake.

Isabel Gonzales Rivas
SAN ANGELO - Isabel “Chabelita” Gonzales Rivas, 90, of San Angelo died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002.
Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial was at Calvary cemetery.
Mrs. Rivas was born July 8, 1911, in Hacienda De La Union-General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose G. Rivas; three sons, Lino G. Rivas, Sam G. Rivas and Alejandro Rivas; and two daughters, Lucy R. Cabrera and Lucinda Rivas.
She is survived by a son, Joe Gary Rivas of San Angelo; eight granddaughters, Patricia Gonzales of San Angelo, Rachel R. English of Fort Worth, Marie Aguirre of Trophy Club, Rosalinda Tafolla of San Angelo, Odie Martinez of San Angelo, Sylvia R. Steadham of San Angelo, Lydia R. Solis of Brownwood and Cynthia R. Ramon of Early; nine grandsons, Robert Rivas, Richard Rivas, Lino Rivas Jr. and Michael Paul Rivas, all of San Angelo, Alejandro Rivas of McAllen, Sammy Rivas Jr. of Eden, Tony R. Cabrera III of Brady, Steven R. Cabrera and Danny Cabrera, both of San Angelo; 34 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Abundez, Felix Gonzales and Trinidad Aguirre Jr.

Charles Edward Blount
ODESSA - Charles Edward Blount, 71, of Odessa passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at his residence. Mr. Blount was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Odessa. He lived in Odessa all his life and graduated from Odessa High School. He was a U.S. Marines veteran. He owned “J” Service and Supply.
He is survived by son, Charles R. Blount; granddaughters, Krystal Doverspike and Kally Eddison; and great-grandchildren, Christopher, Amber, Christian, Garrett and Bryan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Alkire officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County cemetery.

KERMIT - Martin Wayman Beebe, 68, of Kermit died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.

He was born in Littlefield and was a resident of Kermit for 15 years.

He was born in Pecos and was a lifelong resident of Balmorhea. He was Baptist.
