He was born March 7, 1917, in White Deer and served in World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Baptist.

He was born in Biloxi, Miss., and had been a resident of Odessa for 38 years. He was Baptist.

BIG SPRING - J.L. Davis, 66, of Midway, a retired employee of Merchant Motor Lines, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center in Big Spring after a sudden illness.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Myers & Smith Chapel with the Rev. Bill Ballard officiating. Burial will be at Coahoma cemetery. Arrangements by Myers & Smith Funeral Home and Chapel.
He was born in Howard County and lived most of his life there. He was an Air Force veteran and a Baptist.
