Brives Jackson
MIDLAND — Brives Jackson, 62, of Midland, a cook, died Friday, May 17, 2002, at a Midland hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Northside Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Fairview cemetery. Arrangements by Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.
He was born in Dawson.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Lillian Jackson of Midland; sons, Brad Lewis and Tony Bowers, both of Midland, and Brives Jackson Jr. of Dallas; daughters, Stacey Jackson and Shelia Jackson, both of Midland; brothers, Thomas Jackson of Midland and Billy Gene Jackson of Odessa; and 14 grandchildren.

Ruby Jacobson
ANDREWS — Ruby F. Jacobson, 82, of Andrews, a retired nurse’s aide, died Monday, May 20, 2002, at Seminole Memorial Healthcare Center in Seminole.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Andrews Old cemetery with the Rev. Ted Short officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Klondike.
SURVIVORS: Son, Preston Starks of Andrews; brothers, Grady Taylor of Dallas and James H. Taylor of Andrews; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Susie Lawson
ODESSA — Susie Jewell Sadler Lawson, 86, of San Angelo, a homemaker, died Sunday, May 19, 2002, in San Angelo.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Griffin Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Altus, Okla., and had been a resident of Odessa for over 35 years before moving to San Angelo in 1996. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Don Lawson of Odessa; daughter, Jeanette Bennett of San Angelo; two grandsons; and five grandchildren.

Donny Sanford
ODESSA — Donny Sanford, 54, of Odessa, owner of Sanford Sails, died Sunday, May 19, 2002, at Presbyterian Hospital in Plano.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Leonard Cotten and Tony Garcia officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Kilgore and moved to Odessa in 1954 from Kilgore.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Judy Sanford of Odessa; daughter, Cari Loffler of Odessa; mother, Aida Sanford of Odessa; brother, Mark Sanford of Odessa; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Maurice Stennett
BOWIE — Maurice Stennett, 72, of Bowie, a maintenance supervisor in the chemical industry, died Monday, May 20, 2002, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Ison officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery. Arrangements by Fry Funeral Home.
He was born in Paducah and had been a longtime resident of Odessa before moving to Bowie 20 years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Marjorie Stennett of Bowie; sons, Terry Stennett of Odessa and Dale Stennett of Fort Stockton; daughters, Treva McReynolds of Sonora and Beverly Evans of Odessa; brothers, Max Stennett of Red Oak and Don Stennett of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Roy Teakell
ANDREWS — Roy O. Teakell, 74, of Andrews, a retired oilfield pumper, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dan Galloway and Kerry Tilly officiating. Burial will be at the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Bowie and moved to Andrews in 1971. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Rosie Lee Teakell of Andrews; son, Charles Ray Teakell of Andrews; daughter, Gobie Sue Vail of Garland; brothers, James Ray Teakell of Caldwell and Billy W. Teakell of Rockport; sister, Wanda C. Zalesak of Beasley; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Alvin Garrison
KERMIT — Alvin Garrison, 74, of Kermit, a retired production foreman for Bass Enterprises, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at the Hospice House in Odessa.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at East Mound cemetery in Matador. Arrangements by Cooper Funeral Chapel.
He was born in Whiteflat and was a resident of Kermit for 57 years.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jim Bob Garrison of Seminole; daughters, Rebecca Rae Smith of Coleman and Kimberly Boyd of Midland; brother, C.D. Garrison of Matador; sister, Eugenia Barton of Matador; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Edward Hale
ODESSA — Edward Sidney Hale, 69, of Odessa died Friday, May 10, 2002, at Seabury Nursing Center.
Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Webber Falls, Okla.
SURVIVORS: Sisters, Billye Hale Jackson of Joplin, Mo., and Emma Hale Burnett of Midland.

Mary Hornbuckle
RUIDOSO, N.M. — Mary E. “Dugan” Hornbuckle, 90, of Ruidoso, N.M., a homemaker, died Friday, May 10, 2002, in Ruidoso.
Services will be at 11 a.m. MST today at First Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements by LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
She was born in Denton County and had been a resident of Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Son, H.T. “Tom” Hornbuckle Jr. of Ruidoso; and a granddaughter.

Mary Jefferson
BRACKETTVILLE — Mary Factor Jefferson, 75, of Fort Stockton, a homemaker, died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at Pecos County Memorial Hospital in Fort Stockton.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Jerusalem Temple with the Rev. Raymond Goodloe officiating. Burial will be at the Seminole Indian Scout cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Lee Roy Jefferson Jr. and Wayne Jefferson, both of Fort Stockton; brother, Fred Factor of Brackettville; sister, Annie Shield of Brackettville; and three grandchildren.

Irene Ramos
ANDREWS — Irene L. Ramos, 66, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, in Andrews.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard Gully officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at the Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Ojinaga, Mexico, and moved to Andrews in 1976 from Jal, N.M. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Eusebio Ramos of Andrews; daughters, Maria Marquez, Irma Rey, Martina Ortiz and Veronica Blanco, all of Andrews, and Maria Rodriguez of Cuauhtemoc, Mexico; sons, Jose Ramos and Sergio Ramos Sr., both of Andrews; sisters, Estella Lujan of Andrews and Maria Luisa Galindo of Midland; brothers, Moses Lujan Jr. and Mario Lujan, both of Odessa, Crispin Lujan of Andrews and Eduardo Lujan of Ojinaga; 19 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Tomas Valenzuela
CRANE — Tomas “Tommy” Valenzuela, 42, of Crane died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at his residence.
Services are pending with Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

Consuelo (Connie) O. Lozano
ODESSA — “For to be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corin. 5:8)
Consuelo (Connie) O. Lozano, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Jan. 1, 2002.
She was born Sept. 30, 1923 in Toyah to Frederico and Cesaria Ortega.
She moved to Pecos in early adulthood where she met and married the love of her life, Marcelo S. Lozano on May 5, 1946.
She was retired from food service. In 1979 she started in the jail and prison ministry in Pecos.
She moved to Odessa in the 1990’s because of failing health but continued her ministry until her death.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Raquel, and husband, Marcelo, and a son, Larry.
Mother was the driving force of dependence on the Lord on a daily basis.
She will be greatly missed in our present lives, but we know she finished the work we will continue. She was full gospel Christian.
Born to Marcelo and Consuelo were daughters, Naomi Brown of Rosenberg, Patsy Galindo (Gilbert), Margaret Michaelis (Thomas) and Sylvia Lara (Raul), all of Odessa; a son, Joe Anthony Lozano and Maria of Odessa. Also surviving, her sisters, Hope Nuñez (Eleno) of Pecos, Noemi Navarette (Margarito) of El Paso, Virginia Armendariz of Midland, Lydia Campbell of Englewood, Calif. and Margie Sutter (Norman) of Fresno, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date.

Tomasa Caballero
SEMINOLE - Tomasa Caballero, 87, of Seminole, a homemaker, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Seminole.
Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Reynaldo Reyes officiating. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the church. Burial will be at the Gaines County cemetery South. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.
She was born in Lovington, N.M., and moved to Seminole 25 years ago from Mexico. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Santiago Caballero of Mexico; sons, Santiago Caballero Jr. of Seminole and Louis Caballero of Mexico; daughters, Altagracia Maraz and Inez Gonzales, both of Mexico, Maria Casarez and Isela Cortez, both of Seminole; sister, Flora Rascon of Casa Grande, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
