MARFA - Hilario Herrera Valerio, 58, a self-employed carpenter of Lamesa died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, in a Midland hospital.
Graveside services were be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Merced cemetery with the Rev. Demetrio Ponce officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Casa Piedra, grew up in Marfa and lived in Odessa for many years.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Jose Hilario Valerio of Lamesa, Rojello Valerio of Childress and Mike Angel Valerio of Omaha, Neb.; daughters, Rosalinda Lujan and Leonor Valerio, both of Odessa and Adelaida Molina of Fort Worth; brothers, Santiago Hererra of Big Spring and Luis Herrera of Coahoma; sisters, Herlinda Valerio and Maria Nunez, both of Marfa and Oralia Hernandez of California; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

HOBBS, N.M. - Sam 'Kasey' Ericksen, 15, a student, of Hobbs, N.M., died Oct. 1, 1997, in Hobbs.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Taylor Street Church of Christ with Eli Borden officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Memorial Park cemetery. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Home.
He was born in Seminole, and was a student at Houston Junior High. He was a member of the sophomore football and basketball teams.

Charles McCandless
ODESSA - Charles E. McCandless, 62, former owner of McCandless Barber Shop, of Odessa died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, at Veteran Medical Center in Big Spring.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Lubbock and moved to Odessa in 1944. He was a member of the Odessa Police Department in the late 1950s. He was a deputy sheriff for the Ector County Sheriff's Posse. He was a member of the Army National Guard.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Charlesa Loudenburg of Odessa; Cindy Straka of Sherman; Debbie Johnson of Santa Cruz, Calif.; sister, Aline Krawczykowski of Abilene; and five grandchildren.

STANTON - J.G. Runyan, 86, retired from Schlumberger, of Midland died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, in New Braunfels.

He was born in Sawyer, Okla., and lived in Midland for 40 years.

PECOS - Joseph Strain, 15, a student, of Pecos died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, at Reeves County Hospital.

He was born in Pecos and was a lifelong resident. He was Catholic.

She was born in Callahan County, and moved to Odessa in 1935 from Moran. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

CRANE - Mabel Lorene Timmons, 79, of Crane died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, at Crane County Care Center.

She was born in Tillman County, Okla., and had lived in Crane for 34 years. She was a Baptist.
