Charles Stewart
ABILENE — Charles Stewart, 55, of Lexington died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, in Alabama.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with the Rev. Larry Baird officiating. Burial will follow at the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Stewart was born Feb. 21, 1947, in Wichita Falls and graduated from Van High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was currently a journeyman welder for pipeline companies. He married
Paula Lee Lowrie on Oct. 24, 1991, in Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Stewart of Lexington; a son, Timothy Charles Stewart and wife Bernadette of San Antonio; a daughter, Holly Ann Stewart of San Antonio; two brothers, Ronald Dale Stewart and wife Molly of Coleman and William E. Stewart, also of Coleman; two sisters, Keithia Ann Ogles of Wichita Falls and Adna Clevenger and husband Joel of Conroe; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ernest Mobley
ODESSA — Ernest C. “Buddy” Mobley, 67, of Odessa passed away March 3, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 22, 1934, in Throckmorton to James and Gladys Mobley.
He came to Odessa in 1936 from Strawn and graduated from Odessa High School in 1956. He joined the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955 and served during the Korean War as an engine specialist. He attended Odessa College and graduated from Sul Ross. He married
Eunice Johnson on Feb. 14, 1968, in Odessa. He was owner of Triple A Chemicals and retired from Basin Acidizing in 1998. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and a lifelong member of Amvets.
Both parents and his wife, Eunice, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his son, Calvin Mobley of Odessa; daughter, Brandy Dodson and husband Vance of Ardmore, Okla.; brother, James T. “Sonny” Mobley of Marble Falls; sister, Betty Hines of Odessa; mother-in-law, Billie Johnson; sisters-in-law, Alberta Hodgson and husband Frank and Joy Johnson of Odessa and Gayle Guthree and husband Richard of Kissimmee, Fla.; and grandchildren, Callie Chacon, Melinda Chacon and Nova Dodson.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Paul Trejo officiating.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Linda 'Lynn' Rose Reed
ODESSA — Linda “Lynn” Rose Reed, 48, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 2, 2002. She was born July 29, 1953, in Shelby, Iowa, to Joe and Anna Edwards.
Lynn married
Clark Reed on Oct. 9, 1970, in Council Bluffs. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2002, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Trout officiating and Brother Bill Heggemeier assisting. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Clark Reed Sr.; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Steve Borchert; son and daughter-in-law, Clark and Lisa Reed; son, James Reed; and daughter, Sarah Lynn Reed, all of Odessa. Also included are her brother, James Edwards of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sisters, Mary Sales of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Eunice Hill and Janie Edwards, both of Kansas; four grandchildren that added so much joy and happiness to her life, Courtney Rose Borchert and Jordan Marshall Reed; step grandchildren, James Dixon and Jonathan Lesly; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend, Missy Rainey.
Memorials may be donated in Lynn’s honor to Home Hospice, First United Methodist Church or the American Lung Association.

Glynn F. Long
MIDLAND — Glynn F. Long of Gardendale went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 3, 2002, at his daughter’s home in Gardendale.
He was born Sept. 21, 1912, in Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas, to Annie and Dan Long, and the family moved to Midland in 1925. Glynn graduated from Midland High School in 1931. He farmed with his father north of Midland and then moved to the family ranch in Andrews County until retiring in 1978. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Midland.
Glynn loved and cared for his family, especially the little ones. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Katie Bell Floyd; brothers, Roy and Rex Long; grandson, Randy Moore; and son-in-law, Sylvistia Sims.
Glynn is survived by his daughters, Annie Sims of Gardendale and Barbara Moore Davis of Midland; grandchildren, Barbara Ditto and her husband Russell of Gardendale, Shirley Roller and her husband Scott of Harlingen, Rusalyn Kosofsky and her husband Dave of Plano and Rick Moore and his wife Susan of Midland; 10 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Billie Long; two nieces and one nephew; and special friend, Elysee Page of Midland.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Bill Smith Jr. of Bellview Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

ODESSA — Margaret Adkins, 86, of Odessa died Tuesday, March 5, 2002, at her residence. She was born April 20, 1915, in Magnolia, Ark., to W.B. and Vashti Stevens.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 6, 2002, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin Warren officiating. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2002, at Magnolia Memorial Park in Magnolia, Ark., with the Rev. David Watkins officiating.
Mrs. Adkins married
William A. Adkins on Nov. 9, 1941, in Magnolia. They moved to Odessa in 1944. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Richman of Odessa; son, Bill Adkins of Plano; grandchildren, Andy and Patti Adkins of Fairfax, Va., Matthew and Stacie Adkins of Plano, Joel Adkins of Plano and Leanne Richman of Odessa; and two great-grandchildren.

Bertha Yvohn Sawyer
ODESSA — Graveside services for Bertha Yvohn Sawyer, 44, of Odessa will be at 10 a.m. today, March 6, 2002, at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Paul Crow of Lamesa officiating. Arrangements by Head Family Funeral Home of Levelland.
She died Saturday, March 2, 2002, in Odessa. She was born Nov. 20, 1957, in Big Spring to the late Leonard Leroy Jones and Bertha Lea Davis. She married
Donald Dean Sawyer Jr. He died in 1985. She then married
Luther Alvin Scarber Jr. in 1985. She was an emergency medical technician. She worked in construction as an industrial craftsperson and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her first husband and her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Luther Alvin Scarber Jr. of Odessa; three daughters, Donna Kilgore, Lorie Sawyer and Lisa Tatom, all of Odessa; three grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Koontz of Fort Worth and Wanda Hopkins of Odessa; and four brothers, Wesley E. Jones of Santa Anna, Jack C. Jones of Fort Worth, Richard L. Jones of Odessa and James P. Jones of Lamesa.
Timothy Fuller Truex
ODESSA — Timothy Truex, 45, of Odessa passed away Saturday, March 2, 2002, in Galveston. He was born Aug. 3, 1956, in Odessa. He married
Sherron Goss on Aug. 3, 1979, in Giddings. He was a lifelong resident of Odessa and worked as a certified pipeline welder inspector. He had worked for M.B.F. Inspection for the past four years. He was a member of Odessa Tabernacle and has gone home to be with his Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Sherron Truex of Odessa; two sons, Nathan Davis Truex and Taylor Dan Truex, both of Odessa; two daughters, Casey Ellen Truex and Anna Marie Truex, both of Odessa; parents, Edmund and Mary Truex of Odessa; three brothers, Pat Truex of Monahans, Mike Truex of Magnolia and Jeff Thummel of Midland; and two sisters, Janelle Edwards of Midland and Joan Sanders of Lexington.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Odessa Tabernacle with Pastor Doug Herget officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Gary Keith Rheingans
ODESSA — Gary Keith Rheingans, 48, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital after a short illness. He was born Aug. 14, 1953, in Odessa. He spent most of his life in Odessa. He attended Hood Junior High and graduated from Permian High School in 1971, receiving numerous academic achievement awards at both schools, including membership in the National Junior Honor Society and the National Honor Society. He also played for the championship Panther football team. He attended Odessa College and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. For the last six years, he was an employee of GE Industrial Packaging and Power. He loved to go to work each morning and took great pride in a job well done. Gary liked to garden and putter around in his yard. He loved to start each day watching and keeping up with the latest financial news.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today, May 11, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Gary was preceded in death by his father and mother, Leo and Lee Rheingans.
He is survived by his partner, Alice Woods; a brother, Tom Rheingans and his wife Gracie; a daughter, Sabrina Cook and her husband Kenneth; and two grandchildren, Christian and Christina Cook.

Carson Beatrice Hill
ODESSA — Carson Beatrice Hill, 82, of Odessa passed away Thursday, May 9, 2002, at her residence in Odessa. She was born March 8, 1920, to Church and Annie Lee Blackwell in Centerville, Tenn.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Carson came to Odessa in 1946 from Centerville, Tenn. She married
William Hill on Dec. 21, 1946, in Franklin, Ky. She loved cooking, gardening, crocheting and reading. She enjoyed attending her Sunday school class, the Ruth class at Central Baptist Church.
Her parents, and a brother, Hayes Blackwell, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, William D. Hill of Odessa; son, Dennis Hill of Corpus Christi; daughters, Cynthia Hughes of Las Cruces, N.M., Juanita Hill and Sally Rowell, both of Odessa; brothers, Dr. James Blackwell of Centerville, Tenn., and Carleton Blackwell of Waco; sister, Lula Mae Prince of Centerville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Dennis Hill Jr., Michael D. Hughes, Robert A. Hughes, Sherrie Lynn Hughes-Brumley and Vicki Renee Hughes; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Austin Brumley and Zachary Scott Brumley.
The family requests memorials to Alzheimer’s Association and Home Hospice.
