Frances Lucile Currie Hogue
STANTON — Frances Lucile Currie Hogue, 93, of Odessa died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at the Hospice House of Odessa.
Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Evergreen cemetery in Stanton with Chaplain Emmett Barnard of Home Hospice officiating.
She was born Jan. 24, 1909, in Belmont, La. Frances had lived in Odessa for 20 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She liked to crochet and ceramics. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Odessa.
Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Maydell Kimbrough of Olney, Lurlene and Jessie Gregg of Andrews, Elsie and Raymond Chavez of Goldsmith and Mary Nell Pruett of Arlington; one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Sylvia Hogue of San Antonio; one brother, Wilford W. Currie of Carlsbad; 13 grandchildren, Franklin Robinson, Eileen Croxton, Kenneth Robinson, Karen Hirst, Frances Collins, Freddie Hess, Leslie Chavez, Debra Chavez Black, Danny Wayne Hogue, Brian Hogue, John Wesley Hogue, Kevin Woodall and Sherrie Kennedy; 26 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice House Foundation Inc., 903 N. Sam Houston Ave., Odessa, Texas, 79761.
Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home.

Norene Swindle
ODESSA — Norene “Grandma” Swindle, 78, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at Hospice House. She was born March 30, 1924, in Hope, Ark., to Otis and Rebecca Murry.
Norene moved to Odessa in 1970. Norene will be greatly missed by her family, who stood faithfully by her bedside until her death. She enjoyed dancing and gardening. She loved flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow, to whom she was married for 38 years, her parents and her sister.
Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, June 4, 2002, at Memorial Services, 404 N. Washington Ave.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Rose Hill cemetery with Pastor James Bishop officiating.
She is survived by sons, Wayne Swindle and wife Caril of Woodword, Okla., Ricky Swindle and wife Janet of Mineral Wells and Otis Swindle and wife Lindi of Odessa; daughters, Barbara Tidwell of Muscle Shoals, Ala., Sandra Harvel and husband Donnie of Odessa, Donna Widner and husband Rocky of San Angelo and Renee Myers and husband Kenneth of Odessa; sisters, Jerry Dixon, Jean Spencer and Darlene Hogue, all of East Texas; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Hospice House, 903 N. Sam Houston Ave., Odessa, Texas.
Services are entrusted to Memorial Services, 404 N. Washington Ave.

Ruby Louise Goodson
ODESSA — Ruby “Louise” Randall Goodson, 60, of Odessa went home in the arms of Jesus Christ to her eternal home Saturday, June 1, 2002, from the Hospice House of Odessa. Louise was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Lincoln County, N.M. She fought a courageous battle with cancer and even on her most painful days she kept a smile on her face. Louise loved people and never met a stranger. She was always there for anyone in need. She especially loved donating to Servants of the Poor where she worked alongside her mother and friends. She previously worked for Ector County at the Juvenile Detention Center. Louise loved cooking, gardening and black Lab “Trouble.” She especially loved growing roses. She never wanted to cut bouquets for herself because she always said, “No, let’s let the people who drive by enjoy them.” She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, E.E. Randall, and brothers, Jimmie Randall and Danny Daniels.
She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Earl Wayne Goodson of Midland; three sons, Phillip Scott Smith of Houston, Tim Goodson and wife Julie of Kerrville and Craig Goodson and wife Andrea of Odessa; two daughters, Malinda Fields and husband James of Blooming Grove and Laniece Yzaguirre and husband Raul of Odessa; mother, Reba Daniels of Odessa; stepmother, Ada Mae Randall of Fort Worth; brothers, Gary Randall and wife Karen of Crosby and Steve Randall and wife Carla of Diana; sisters, Mary Lou Elder and husband Wendell of Goldsmith, Janett Randall of Fort Worth, Linda Dodson and husband Butch, Patsy Daniels and Barbara Daniels, all of Odessa, and Ardith Nichols and husband John of Fort Worth; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and also many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Louise, you will be missed, but we know you will be sitting on God’s side and will be the brightest star in heaven, just like you were in our family. We look forward to our reunion in Christ. We love you.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 4, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gale Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Hospice House, Odyssey Health Care Hospice or First Southern Baptist Church of Gardendale.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Myrtle M. Chandler
CLOVIS, N.M. — Myrtle M. Chandler, 81, of Odessa, formerly of Clovis, N.M., died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, at Hospice House of Odessa. She was born to the Rev. and Mrs. Price Bishop on Dec. 28, 1920, in Weatherford, Okla.
Myrtle married John C. Chandler on May 28, 1938. John became a Baptist minister and Myrtle shared that ministry with him. John preceded Myrtle in death Jan. 22, 1970. They loved the Lord and loved their family.
Myrtle is survived by all three of her children, Joyce Brookshire and her husband Alton of Odessa, Caleb Chandler and his wife Donna of Clovis and Wanda Russell of Las Vegas, Nev. She is also survived by 16 wonderful grandchildren; 20 lovely great-grandchildren; a beautiful great-great-granddaughter; her brother, Henry Bishop and sister, Louise Flower, both of Longview; and her sister, Juanita Hughes of Caldonia, N.Y.
Myrtle married Rupert Stratton on Oct. 23, 1972. He preceded her in death Aug. 8, 1998.
Myrtle took great pleasure in sending Bible scriptures to her family illustrating how they should live. Her Christian life was an example for all. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Odessa.
Services will be at 11 a.m. MST Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at Central Baptist Church in Clovis conducted by Dr. Joseph Vest and Myrtle’s grandson, Doyle Brookshire, youth minister of Grape Creek Baptist Church in Grape Creek. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Services are under the direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home.

Beulah Hagar
MIDLAND — Beulah Hagar passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002.
Beulah was born Dec. 18, 1915, in Southland, Garza County, to F.C. and Minnie Custer Collins.
She was employed for several years by Brown Electric Co. of Odessa and retired from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth in 1983. During Beulah’s life of over 86 years from childhood, her parents farmed near Patricia in Martin County until her last years after retirement. She lived a private life, holding true to her belief in self-reliance, not imposing on her brother and sister, but always concerned with their health and well being. She was a gracious lady who will always be remembered by her family, friends and neighbors.
Her son, Darwin Lynn Ship; her brother, Lee Collins; and her parents preceded Beulah in death.
She is survived by her brother, Ray Collins and his wife Ginny of Midland; a sister, Lucille Brown of Odessa; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services have been scheduled for 3 p.m. today, Jan. 31, 2002, at Fairview cemetery with the Rev. Jan Reed officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

Alexandra Lea Whitehead
ODESSA — Alexandra “Alex” Whitehead, 2 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, Jan. 30, 2002, at her home in Midland after a lengthy illness.
Alex was born Nov. 19, 1999, in Odessa. She is the daughter of Kim and Jake Whitehead of Midland.
Survivors include her parents; grandparents, Ray and Norma Alexander of Big Spring and Dan and Peggy Whitehead of San Angelo; great-great-grandmother, Genevieve Valladao of California; great-grandparents, Buddy and Bessie Whitehead of Odessa, Fern Alexander of Big Spring, Anita Nall of Mineral Wells and Nita Valladao of California; aunt and uncles, Christy and Kent Brown of The Colony and Wes Whitehead of Arlington; numerous great-aunts, uncles and cousins; and special caregiver, Yolanda Jimenez.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Midland with Dr. David Ring, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Big Spring, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
The family will be at 2904 Dora in Midland.

Louise Bridges
ODESSA — Louise Bridges of Odessa died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Odessa Regional Hospital. She was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Huntington, Ark.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 13, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Griffin Jones officiating.
Louise Bridges lived 82 loving and caring years. Her loving spirit will live on through her adult children, granddaughter, treasured family members and her many adored and lifelong friends. She will be remembered for her laughter, gift of gab, kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity. She never missed an occasion to remember someone with a touching card or phone call. Mrs. Bridges moved to Odessa in 1966. She was the former owner of Slumberland Sleep Shop and attended Temple Baptist Church. She married Morgan Bridges on Dec. 25, 1940, in Tulsa, Okla.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Bridges; daughter, Christie Bridges; parents, John and Mamie Harrison; brother, Harold Harrison; sister-in-law, Lillian Harrison; and friend of family, Sol Oxford.
She is survived by a son, Mike Bridges of Odessa; daughter, Linda Gosnell of Midland; granddaughter, Kelly Gosnell; brother, Jean Harrison of Fort Smith, Ark.; sister-in-law, Katherine Harrison of Tulsa, Okla., Dorothea and J.R. Collins of Clarksville, Ark., Delbert and Jean Bright of Longview, Joyce Honeyman and husband Ron of Bellvue, Wash., Judy Harrison of Addison, Jolynne McGee of Addison, Gretchen Clark and husband Aaron of Wheatland, Wyo., Richard Harrison and wife Marcia of Burleson and Rebecca Rather and husband John of Little Rock, Ark.; and her three furry felines.
Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Peggy June Howard
ODESSA — Peggy June Howard, 69, of Odessa passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at her residence. She was born June 1, 1932, in Bovina. She married Cecil Freeman Howard on Jan. 18, 1951, in Snyder.
Mrs. Howard had lived in Odessa since 1954. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Freeman Howard; parents, M.J. Stanley and Effie Lena Roberson Stanley; and brother, Harold Max Stanley.
She is survived by son, Roy Cecil Howard of Odessa; daughters, Vicki Lynn Myers and husband Don of Odessa, Ethel Anne Howard of Spring and Susan Kay Howard of Pearland; sisters, Betty Joy McCutchen of Guymon, Okla., and Marie Doris Getman of Dumas; five grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Howard, Ashley Nicole Myers, Jessica Lynn Myers, Elizabeth Ann Myers and Roy Brandon Howard, all of Odessa.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Deborah Renea Byrnes
ODESSA — Deborah Renea Byrnes, 34, a housewife, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. Miss Byrnes lived in Odessa, Texas, and was previously from Kansas City, Mo.
She is survived by her mother, Loretta Mae Baker; daughters, Sara Danielle Baker of Mountain Home, Ark., and Jessica Lederhos of Odessa; brother, Terry Baker of Mountain Home, Ark.; and sisters, Tammy Hinton of Chewlah, Wash., Waynetta Strothers of Arkadelphia, Ark., Sandy Richardson of San Angelo, Texas, and Tina Prentice of Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Gilbert Byrnes.
She was born July 30, 1967, in St. Louis, the daughter of Roy and Loretta (Baker) Byrnes.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2002, at Martinez Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Ector County cemetery in Odessa.
