Peter Neufeld

SEMINOLE - Peter F. Neufeld, 73, a farmer, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, at Memorial Health Care Center in Seminole.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at German Church of God in Seminole with the Rev. Peter Ens officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County cemetery. Arrangements by Boyer Funeral Home.

He was moved to Seminole in 1968. He was a member of the German Church of God.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Margaretha Neufeld of Seminole; sons, John Neufeld, Herman Neufeld and Peter Neufeld, all of Seminole; daughters, Helen Teichroeb and Tina Wiebe, both of Seminole; sister, Justina Klassen and Tina Neckel, both of Mexico and Susana Thiessen of Bolivia; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

William Oberle

ODESSA - William J. Oberle Jr., 63, of Odessa died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, at his residence.

Funeral services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Latane Vaughan

ODESSA - Latane Vaughan, 80, of Odessa died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Lucille Barr

CRANE - Lucille Barr, 81, a ranch governess, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Crane County cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy McWilliams officiating. Arrangements by Richard W. Box Funeral Home.

She was born in Barnhart and was a resident of Crane. She was a Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Wilson Barr of Crane; daughters, Nina Gayle of Crane and Sheila Carson of Odessa; sister, Alene Workman of Rankin; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Eloisa Barrientes

DENVER CITY - Eloisa Garza Barrientes, 54, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, at her residence.

Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at St. Williams Catholic Church in Denver City with the Rev. Andres Mendosa officiating. Burial will be at Denver City Memorial Park. Arrangements by Ratliff Funeral Homes.

She was born in Otto and was a resident of Denver City. She was a Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Jose Barrientes of Denver City; sons, Philip Barrientes of Hobbs, N.M., Joe Barrientes Jr. and Amalio Barrientes, both of Denver City, Gregory Barrientes of Anaheim, Calif., Sammy Barrientes of Lubbock and Noel Barrientes of Artesia, N.M.; daughters, Andrea Chavira, Sylvia Roblez and Sara Garcia, all of Denver City and Irma Barrientes of Orlando, Fla.; brothers, Ignacio Garza of Hunnington Park, Calif., and Richard Garza and Guadalupe Garza, both of New Home; and 18 grandchildren.

Robert Johnson

CARLSBAD, N.M. - Robert William 'Buddy' Johnson, 67, an independent petroleum industry contractor, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday MST at Denton-Funches Funeral Home Chapel with J.T. Ross officiating. Arrangements by Denton-Funchess Funeral Home.

He was born in Ranger was a resident of Lakewood, N.M. He was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Eleanor Thornton-Johnson of Lakewood, N.M.; sons, Robert William 'Bobby' Johnson of Plano and Clay Thornton of Ceppell; daughter, Kharol Trello of Overland Park, Kan.; sister, Mary Ann Campbell of Houston; and four grandchildren.

Ida Hargus

MARATHON - Ida May Hargus, 98, a homemaker, died Tuesday Nov. 4, 1997, at Pecos County Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Ann Hanig officiating. Burial will be at Marathon cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.

She was born in Seguin and has been a resident of Marathon since 1917. She was a Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Son, William W. 'Bill' Hargus of Fort Stockton; daughters, Frances Springfield of Marathon and Betty Sue Imler of San Diego; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Clifford Lair

ODESSA - Clifford Allen Lair, 29, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. at Martinez Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Houston officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

He was born in Dallas and was a resident of Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Father, Jimmy Lair of Odessa; brother, Brian Samuel Lair of Odessa; mother, Vera Lair of Odessa; grandmothers, Agnes Houston of Santa Anna, Calif. and Nell Susie Morehead of Odessa; and step grandfather, Floyd Morehead of Odessa.

Robert Shields

COLEMAN - Robert 'Bob' Shields, 71, a retired consultant, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at Brownwood Medical Center.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Briscoe officiating. Burial will be at Santa Anna cemetery. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home.

He was born in Whon, Texas, and was a resident of Odessa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Evelyn Shields of Odessa; son, Bobby Lynn Shields of Austin; daughter, Susie Hoagland of Austin; mother, Maud Shields of Santa Anna; brothers, Myrl Shields of Brownwood and Leo Shields of Santa Anna; sisters, Edith Gilbert of San Angelo; Leona Frazee of Oklahoma; Evelyn Wright of Fort Worth and Lonell Thate of San Angelo; and five grandchildren.

Oleta Dickey

CHANDLER - Oleta Pearl Dickey, 83, retired office manager for Darby Shine Steel Co., died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Bob Sexton and Jess Thomas officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Tyler Memorial Funeral Home.

She was born in Lueders and was a longtime resident of Odessa before retiring to Lake Palistine. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Kay Lynn Lawrence of Austin; sister, Mary Bob Thomas of Chandler; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Lillian Gore

OLNEY - Lillian Estelle Gore, 93, of Big Spring died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997, at the home of her daughter.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church. Arrangements by Lunn Funeral. Local arrangements by Myers and Smith Funeral Home.

She was born in Flint, and lived in Big Spring and Odessa since 1993. She was Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, J.M. Gore Jr. and Henry Dale Gore, both of Wichita Falls; daughters, Maggie Beth Boadle of Odessa and Jeffie Phinney of Big Spring; sister, Dora Ficklin of Olney; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

William McCafee

ODESSA - William W. McCafee, 75, of Odessa died Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, at New Horizon's Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m today at Ector County/Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Bugg officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home.

He was born in San Diego.

SURVIVORS: Son, Roger McCafee of Grant City, Mo.; sisters, Ruby Gard of Shelton, Wash., Thelma Jennings of Jacumba, Calif. and Eva Jennings of Hesparia, Calif; and one grandchild.
