Kenneth Gayoso
ODESSA — Kenneth Gayoso passed away from this life and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 5, 2002.
Kenneth was born Jan. 24, 1947, in Dallas to Don Gayoso and Ruth Brown. He moved to Odessa in 1969 and worked as a machinist for Allbright Machine Shop for 20 years. He worked for Kelly’s Tool Works for the last five years.
He married Shirley Ruth Bosch on Dec. 30, 1982. He was a loving and faithful husband who adored his wife and family. He was blessed with two sons and a daughter-in-law. He was a wonderful father and friend.
Kenneth was a faithful member of Antioch Christian Church. He loved the Lord with all of his heart. Jesus Christ was the center of his life, and it showed in everything he did. He always had a smile on his face and something to say to make you laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ruth Gayoso of Odessa; his two sons, Kenneth Bryan Gayoso and Jason Robert Shedd; daughter-in-law, Jill Lynn Shedd; three brothers, Clyde Manuel Gayoso of Merkel, Donnie Dalehart Gayoso of Anna and Lester Ray Gayoso of Irving; sisters, Shirley Ann Johnston of Anna and Debby Ellis of Fort Worth; and numerous aunts, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 8, 2002, at Antioch Christian Church with Don Fankhauser officiating.
Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

W.H. Dee Johnson
ODESSA — William Harvey “Dee” Johnson of Odessa was reunited with our Father and his loving wife, Janice, as he began his eternal rest Wednesday, May 29, 2002.
Graveside services are scheduled for 4 p.m. today, June 1, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. A brief reception is scheduled immediately after the service at the on-site chapel. Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Dee was born May 19, 1910, in Cordell, Okla., to Cora Ann and James Franklin Johnson. He married Janice Wells in November 1952 and celebrated almost 47 loving years together. Janice preceded Dee in death Nov. 22, 1999, and was the absolute love of his life.
Dee worked the West Texas oilfields as a driller from 1940 to 1942 and entered the military in 1942 to proudly serve in the 21st Naval Combat Battalion, more affectionately known as the “21st Seabees.” Upon his return to civilian life, Dee joined the U.S. Postal Service from which he retired in 1973.
Dee is survived by his niece, Pat Mascarella of Buena Park, Calif., and her sons, Vance Page of Fort Worth, Paul Mascarella of La Palma, Calif., and Carl Mascarella of Corona, Calif., and their families. He is also survived by his niece, Terri Enloe of Marble Falls, and his sister-in-law, Lou Wells of Odessa. Dee adopted and was adopted by his extended families on Conley Avenue, which will dearly miss him.
Pallbearers will be Kent McCord, Wayne Ray, Larry Holcomb, Don Coleman, Trent Norman and Jayden Norman. Honorary pallbearers will be Dee’s “adopted” grandsons, 10-year-olds Jacob Wood and Trevor Norman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Home Hospice and The Hospice Home Foundation of Odessa.
Dee, you touched our hearts and taught us unconditional love. Until we meet you in heaven, Godspeed. We trust, that with your new wings, you will lead us home when our Lord calls us. Angie and Rita.

Daisy Edith Schenkel
ODESSA — Daisy Edith Schenkel, 92, of Odessa passed away Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Seabury Nursing Home. She was born July 23, 1909, in Bloomington, Ill. She married Herman A. Schenkel in 1927 in Dallas. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was a member of flower clubs. She enjoyed flower shows and club activities. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and steadfast friend.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Viola Kahl, and sisters, Ruth Hall, Frances Shorb, Ann Lusk and Dorothy Fallentine.
She is survived by sons, Orval W. Schenkel and wife Weda of Odessa and H.A. Schenkel Jr. and wife Lou of Salado; sister, Katherine Bushnell of Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 1, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Bugg officiating. Cremains will be placed next to her husband at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Annie C. Scott
KERMIT — Annie C. Scott was born Sept. 2, 1906, in Benson, La., and passed away May 30, 2002, in Kermit at the age of 95. She was the daughter of Walter Ernest Nolan Sr. and Lula Sample Nolan, the fourth child of a family of four daughters and four sons. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings and her husband of 64 years, Bruce.
She is survived by her son, Robert Bruce Scott of Kermit; niece, Frances Nolan Avis of Fresno, Calif., whom she took into her home at the age of 12; nephew, Gordon D. Novelle of New Orleans; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly as she was the matriarch of the Nolan family.
Annie attended A&I College in Kingsville as a young woman where she received her teaching certificate and began her teaching career in Latin American School in Santa Rosa.
She married Philip Bruce Scott June 10, 1934, and they moved to Pyote where he was employed with Standard Oil Co.
During the years, they moved to several other West Texas locations, finally retiring and settling in Kermit.
In the ’50s, she enrolled at Sul Ross State College in Alpine and received her bachelor of science degree and began teaching in the Kermit school system where she retired in 1972, but continued to substitute for several years until her husband became disabled. She loved her students and had a profound influence on many of them.
Annie was active in the First United Methodist Church in Kermit where she served in many capacities. She was a member of the Garden Club, former president of the Monday Night Club and belonged to the Retired Teachers Association and American Association of University of Women.
Mrs. Scott was cared for by her dear and loving caretakers Dora Diaz and Linda Kirby for several years. Mrs. Scott’s family will be eternally grateful for the love and kindness shown to her by her caretakers and their families.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Kermit with the Revs. Beth Harrington and Henry O. Freund officiating. Burial will follow at the Kermit cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Memorial Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 744 Jeffee St., Kermit, Texas, 79745, or to the charity of your choice.

Euey Henry Cameron
ODESSA — Euey Henry Cameron, 76, of Odessa, beloved father and husband, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 18, 2002, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 4020 E. University Blvd., in Odessa. Interment was Sunday, July 21, 2002, in Bartlett, Texas.

Deacon Abel C. Campos
ODESSA — Deacon Abel C. Campos, 89, of Odessa passed into eternal rest Thursday, July 25, 2002, at his residence surrounded by his beloved wife and family. He was born May 20, 1913, in Santa Gertrudes, Coahuila, Mexico. He married Rita Tijerina on Nov. 25, 1939, in O’Donnell. In 1948, he moved to Odessa.
Three grandchildren preceded him in death.
He is survived by 10 children, Mrs. Anna C. Nunez and Julio of Odessa, Mr. Miguel T. Campos and Esperanza of Odessa, Mrs. Hortensia C. Llanez and Tomas of Odessa, Mrs. Clotilde C. Cerda and Ramon of Odessa, Mrs. Eduviges C. Rodriguez and Robert of Odessa, Mr. Arturo T. Campos and Sylvia of Odessa, Mrs. Dolores C. Alvarado and Fernando of Odessa, Mr. Abel T. Campos Jr. and Karen of Wausau, Wis., Mr. Tomas T. Campos and Lauren of Odessa and Mr. Blas T. Campos and Carmen of Odessa; 42 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Carlos C. Campos of San Antonio, Jose C. Campos of Odessa and Efrain C. Campos of Santa Fe, N.M., sisters, Virginia C. Romero of Odessa and Josefina C. Tijerina of Canyon; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He worked for the railroad, city of Odessa and was the founder and owner of Campos Barber Shop. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church since 1948, was a cursillista (de colores), belonged to the Third Order of Carmelites, was a member of the Holy Name Society, a eucharistic minister and became a deacon Jan. 28, 1979, a calling he dearly loved.
Special thanks go out to Dr. Khandelwal and the staff of West Texas Cancer Center, Medical Center Hospital and staff, Nurses Unlimited and staff, Odyssey Hospice and their wonderful supporting staff and all the people who supported us through prayers, kind words, visitations, kind gestures and cards.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 907 S. Dixie Blvd., with the Rev. Bernard Gully officiating. Body will lie in state at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors, 4635 Oakwood Drive. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today.
Funeral Mass: Scriptural readers: Ellen Llanez, Mercedes Ceballos and Sara Campos. Ushers: Marissa Alvarado, Christine Reyes, Gracie Rangel, Amanda Bustillos, Andrea Canava and Erik Campos. Altar servers: Augustin Campos, Lino Campos and Blas Campos Jr. Offerings: Samantha Friar and Brenda Parker. Communion servers: Sara Campos, Merita Carrasco, Carmen Mercado and Leonor Reyes. Singer: St. Joseph and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Eulogy: Grandchildren. Pallbearers: Sammy Nunez, Michael Campos, Armando Llanez, Elliot Esparza, Robert Joe Rodriguez, Arturo Campos Jr., Frank C. Alvarado, Cruzabel Campos, Valerie Castillo and Christopher Campos.
Services have been entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

John Marshall Clark
MIDLAND — John Marshall Clark died Thursday, July 18, 2002, at his home in Taos, N.M.
A memorial service is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2002, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Midland, 3301 Neely, with the Rev. Jeffrey Lamb officiating.
He was born Oct. 12, 1926, to James W. Clark and Anna Paullin in Oklahoma City. A 1949 graduate of Rice University, John worked as an engineer for Stanolind (BP Amoco) and later Hancock Oil and Gas. In 1956, he went independent as president of Chase Petroleum, which merged in 1969 into Kanata Offshore. John managed their Canadian operations in Calgary, Alberta, until 1972 when he moved back to Midland. Until his death, he was president of John M. Clark Inc.
In 1954, he married Madora Moseley. They divorced in 1966. He married Rosamaria Ellis of Taos, N.M., in 1983.
He is survived by his wife, Rosamaria Clark of Midland; sisters, Ann McQuilkin of Tulsa, Okla., and Mary Alexander of Taos, N.M.; son, Roger Brian Clark of Midland; daughter, Susan Clark of Taos, N.M.; five grandchildren, Luis Vargas of Taos, N.M., Heather McNeely of Midland, Gable Clark of Oklahoma City, Josh Clark of San Marcos and Amanda Schwisow of Fort Collins, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, Robert Jones Jr., Lacy Schwisow and Zoey McNeely; and numerous other family members.

Jack E. Haggard
WICHITA FALLS — Jack E. Haggard, 57, of Carrollton, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2002, in Alba, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, I the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Crestview with the Rev. Jay Paul Hathaway, associate pastor of First Christian Church in Guthrie, Okla., officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview.
Jack was born June 3, 1945, in Wichita Falls, to the late Emmett and Le Haggard. A graduate of Wichita Falls High School, he attended Midwestern State University. Mr. Haggard was a retired store manager from Sears and Roebuck Company after 33 years of service. Jack was a beloved friend and respected by many. On Aug. 4 of this year, Jack and Bobbie would have celebrated 35 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife Bobbie; son Brandon Haggard; daughters, Tandi and Hallie Haggard; brother, Tom Atwell and wife Kathy; sisters-in-law, Joy Hathaway and husband Jack, Jackie Moorehead and husband Royce, Shirley Manhart and husband Don, Saundra Barnett and husband Monty and Andrea Williams and husband Don; brothers-in-law, Gary Chandler and wife Loretta, Larry Chandler and wife Norma; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Hampton Vaughan Crestview.
Jack was a faithful contributor to the United Way. For those desiring, however, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity.

Paula Jean Hamilton
ODESSA — Paula Jean Hamilton, 52, of Odessa, passed away Friday, July 26, 2002, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 8, 1950, in Abilene.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, at Odessa Tabernacle with the Pastor Doug Hergot officiating.
She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Nathan Len Hermon.
She is survived by her son, Michael Paul Hermon and wife Michelle of Odessa; parents, Joy Stump of Grandbury and E.P. and Erion Gaston of Odessa; brothers, Greg Gaston and wife Sherry of Grandbury, David Gaston of Plano and Dennis Gaston of Grandbury; sister, Debbie McCollum of Odessa; two granddaughters, Dallas Lynn Gaston of Grandbury and Casey Barnhill of Odessa; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Minister Barbara Diane Prince
ODESSA — Minister Barbara Diane Prince was born Feb. 20, 1952, to Mrs. Mabel Prince in Odessa, Ector County, Texas. She was the seventh child of eight.
Her early public schooling was done in Odessa where she also finished Ector High School. After graduation, she attended Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. There she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973. In 1976, she received a Master’s degree in Education and she pursued a law degree from Texas Tech University.
She was called into the ministry and became the associate pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas, for a number of years. Later, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she attended Texas Christian University Theological Seminary and served as an associate minister of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
Minister Prince, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, was the recipient of many honors.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Walker’s Chapel Church of God in Christ, 525 S. Grandview Ave., with the Rev. Chauncey Neely, of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
Survivors are her one sister, Florie Nell Peterson of Odessa, Texas; three brothers, Arthur Morris Prince, Elliott L. Prince and Michael Prince, all of Odessa; one daughter, Brandai Wills and husband Ray Wills of Newport News, Va.; one son, Derrick Prince and wife April and their son Quincy Prince of San Angelo, Texas; her mother, Mrs. Bernice Deaver of Odessa, Texas; her grandmother, Mrs. Paulethia Hunter of Odessa, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Robert Lucuis Harris
ODESSA — Robert Lucuis Harris, 77, of Odessa died Saturday, June 1, 2002, in Odessa.
He was born March 13, 1925, in Hillsboro to Richard Harris and Ann McCreary. He retired as a machine operator from Baker Hughes after 35 years. He enlisted in the Navy Jan. 4, 1943, and served during World War II and through Jan. 8, 1946. He married Margaret Cecil Harris McCree.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Robert Stephen Harris of Arlington and Tracey Ray Harris of Odessa; a brother, Louis Hall of Fort Worth; three sisters, Sonja Sewell, Mary Gamble and Jessie Harris, all of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Martinez Funeral Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Hanson officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Ector County cemetery.
