WARREN, Ind. — Brandi Lynn Reece, 8, of Warren, Ind., and formerly of Andrews died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, near Warren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Church of the Nazarerne in Warren with the Rev. Bill Keen officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn cemetery.
She was born in Andrews.

L.T. Sawyer
BIG SPRING — L.T. “Buzz” Sawyer, 84, of Big Spring, a former Gulf Oil employee, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Trinity Memorial Park with the Revs. Randy Cotton and Mickey Loftis officiating. Arrangements by Myers and Smith Funeral Home.
He was born in Corsicana. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Sheryl Tarleton of Gail; son, Steve Sawyer of Coppell; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Frankie Dennison, 89, of Odessa died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.

Freda Mae Booth
STANTON — Funeral services for Mrs. Freda Mae Booth, 86, of Ballinger have been set for 2 p.m. today, April 17, 2002, at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Plumley officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen cemetery in Stanton.
Mrs. Booth was born May 11, 1915, in Eastland County. She passed away Monday, April 15, 2002, in Odessa.
She married
Robert E. Booth on Feb. 23, 1936, in Seminole. He preceded her in death July 16, 1996. Mrs. Booth was a homemaker. She was a member of New Life Refuge Church in Ballinger.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Don and Ann Booth of Ballinger; her two daughters and sons-in-law, Don and Marvis Belt of Odessa and Ben and Ann May of Midland; eight grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Colin Belt, Robert Booth, Robert Rodriguez, David Hailes, Chris Onstot and Kelly Booth.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.
Alma Holford
ODESSA — Alma Wilshire Holford died Sunday, April 14, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital following a short illness. Born Oct. 19, 1909, in Durant, Okla., to William G. and Mary Ann Wilshire, she lived her life in Oklahoma and Texas surrounded by a loving and adoring family. She married
Oran Ray Holford on March 19, 1929. He preceded her in death in 1968 and was the love of her life. She was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing and Dallas Cowboys football. Her greatest achievement was the living example she provided to her family all the days of her life. She instilled in each generation of her family the fine arts of love, compassion, respect, integrity, and finally, bravery.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, JoLynn and Edward Green of Odessa, daughter and son-in-law, Alma R. and Jim Bell of Liberal, Kan., and daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Williams of Stamford. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, David Williams, Brenda Perez, Glenda Maberry, Kristi Smiley, J.G. Bell, Racheal Green and Charity Green. She spent the last 23 years of her life loving and enjoying her 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, which she considered the icing on her cake.
Services will be held at a later date with arrangements by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa.
Ruby Bernice Steele
ODESSA — Ruby Bernice Steele, 93, of Odessa passed away Monday, April 15, 2002, at her residence. She was born April 6, 1909, to Frank and Mertie Thomas in Wynona, Okla.
She married
Bernard L. Steele on Dec. 15, 1938, in Oklahoma. They moved to Odessa in 1945. She was a member of the T.O.P.S. club for many years and was active in Sunday school at First Baptist Church where she was a member. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and sewing. She was an excellent seamstress.
Her husband, Bernard, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter Cleta Terry and husband Wayne of Odessa; brother, Lloyd Thomas and wife Margerite of Odessa; sisters, Marcella Christie of Garland and Violet Quillen and husband Carl of Wynona, Okla.; six grandchildren, Wayne Allen Terry Jr. and wife Mary, David Terry, Debbie Franklin and husband Howard, Mike Terry, Ronnie Terry and Jason Terry and wife Billie; four great-grandchildren, Pam Terry, Kim Terry, Austin Terry and Blake Terry; a great-great-grandson, Morgan Terry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Allen Terry Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Wayne Allen Terry Jr., Jason Terry, David Terry, Ronnie Terry, Mike Terry and her great-grandson, Austin Terry.

Carolyn A. White
ODESSA — Carolyn A. White, 60, of Odessa passed away Monday, April 15, 2002, at her residence. She was born Dec. 9, 1941, in Seminole to Glenn and Vida Rhea.
She married
Ronny on Nov. 25, 1959, in Seminole and came to Odessa in 1966 from Hobbs. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, shopping and traveling.
Her father, Glen, and mother, Vida, preceded her in death as well as her sister, Geraldine.
She is survived by her husband, Ronny of Odessa; daughter, Denise Anderson and husband Joe of Odessa; son, Ricky White and wife Tina of San Angelo; sister, Sue Walling and husband Bill of Bay City; four grandchildren, Matt and Zach White, Caitlin “Katie” and Corey “Rumble” Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, April 17, 2002, at Sunset Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Jack Bell
ODESSA — Jack Bell, 71, of Odessa passed away Sunday, April 14, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born June 29, 1930, in Bowie. Jack played basketball and football for Bowie High School in Bowie and went on to play football for Rice University. He moved to Odessa in 1956 from Fort Worth. He married
Juanita Moorman on Feb. 9, 1968, in Odessa. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a senior drilling foreman for Amoco Production for 33 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Shad Bell; brother, Ocie Bell of Bowie; and sisters, Velma Motley of Bowie and Ruby Jo Latham of Barstow, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Bell of Odessa; son, Danny Bell and wife Jamie of Houston; daughters, Diane Wolfenberger and husband Eric of Houston, Ann Roach and husband Steve Brock and Bobbi Pradon and husband Daniel, all of Odessa; six grandchildren, Nicole Wallace and husband Duncan of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jarret Bell and Chance Bell, both of Houston, Jehra Haechten, Heather Roach and Kalym Haechten, all of Odessa; three step grandchildren, Cory Pradon and wife Arlene, Todd Pradon, Dena Peacock and husband David; and a number of loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 17, 2002, at the Harvesters Classroom at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Thomason officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Dr. Willis Thomas Carson
ODESSA — Dr. Willis Thomas Carson died peacefully April 16, 2002, in Odessa. He was born May 8, 1918, in Austin.
After high school graduation, Dr. Carson began a long and distinguished career in scholastics and medical practice. Graduating at the top of his class from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Dr. Carson went to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., where he specialized in ophthalmology. Dr. Carson then moved to Odessa in 1955 where he established the Carson Eye Clinic. He was the first eye specialist in this area. Dr. Carson was an honored member of Phi Beta Pi and Phi Delta Theta fraternities as well as an honored fellow and diplomate from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Carson was a Rochester Golf Club champion, a Texas Golden Gloves champion and loved fishing and dominoes at the Odessa Country Club. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Dr. Carson is survived by his sons, William C. Carson and wife Lane of Odessa and Robert and wife Jeanne of Lakeway, and daughters, Mary Diane Carson of Dallas and Carol Frances Carson of Boulder Creek, Calif. He also is survived by his four grandchildren, Adam and Whitney Carson of Odessa and Chris and Caren Carson of Houston.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Dick Hickerson, Don Ormand, Bob Niedert, Ted Hackney III, Tom Meek and Harry Bevers. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Hunt, Perry Davis, Jack Tidwell, Tom Meek, Ace Barnes, Paul McCollom and C.H. Martin.

Cora Caroline Mitchell
RANGER — Cora Caroline Mitchell, 88, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2002, at Seabury Nursing Home in Odessa.
She was born Feb. 28, 1914, in Crestline, Kan., to Glen and Vernice Morrison. She was married
to the late Robert Mitchell. She was a homemaker, a Christian and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Breckenridge and Westminster Presbyterian Church of Odessa. She was also a member of the Bringettes-Breckenridge Women’s Club.
She is survived by two sisters, Naomi Fitzgerald of Odessa and Mildred Fern and brother-in-law Eugene Kribbs of Breckenridge; a nephew, Jim Robertson of Fort Worth; and six nieces, Barbara O’Neal of Odessa, Ann Morton of Lafayette, La., Kay Blue of Lewisville, Mona Lawrence of San Antonio, Dianne Anderson of Flower Mound and Barbara Ross of De Soto.
Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, April 17, 2002, at Odessa Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2002, at Evergreen cemetery in Ranger with the Rev. Andy Chandler officiating.

Phillip M. Jones
MIDLAND — Phillip M. Jones died Monday, April 15, 2002. A graveside service for family only will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park. A memorial service in celebration of his life has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2002, at First Christian Church, 1301 W. Louisiana in Midland with Dr. Tommy Potter officiating and Ryan Dalgliesh assisting. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Russ Robken, Doug Guichard, Harold Beck, Sam Curtis, Spencer Sipko, Francis Martin, Keith Mauldin and Bud
Browne.
Phillip Jones was born Oct. 23, 1928, to Wilbur S. and Lucille Price Jones. He grew up in Dallas, attending Highland Park High School, where he graduated in 1946. He was active in Boy Scouts and ROTC while in high school. After graduating, he attended Tarleton State College.
On Oct. 29, 1949, Phillip married
Bettye Grubbs while he was employed as a draftsman for Atlantic Refining Co. They moved to Midland in 1952 and in 1952 he went to work for Union Sulfur and Oil Corp., which later became Union Texas Petroleum. Transferring to Houston, he finished his education, graduating from the University of Houston in 1957 with a bachelor of science degree in geology. After being transferred to Lafayette, La., he was hired by American Trading and Production Co. and moved back to Midland in 1967. Phil created a partnership with W.C. Osborne in 1970. When that partnership dissolved, he leased and managed Chandler Guest Ranch in 1974 and pursued geology as an independent for many years.
On Oct. 1, 1986, Philip married
Gene F. Keyser and acquired a new family. He was an active member of Ranchland Hills Country Club, a member and deacon of First Christian Church, helped organize and facilitate the Anderson Network Cancer Survivors Support Group in Midland/Odessa and has been a member of the 710 Club and the Serenity Group of Alcoholics Anonymous for 16-plus years. He was also a director of The Gatehouse Corp. Phil was an avid golfer. He spent much of his time and gave of his talents to his children and his 19 grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time in western Alberta, Canada, at the family cabins on the Red Deer River.
He is survived by his wife, Gene; his own children, Dusty Wilson and husband “Tic” of Lake Granbury, Debbie Stucker and husband Mike of Rockwall and Doug Jones and wife Nola of Paint Rock; and his second family, Carolyn Curtis and husband Carl of Tyler, Julie Squires and husband Michael of Atlanta, Ga., Edward Keyser and wife Janet of Burnet, Laura Dalgliesh of Midland and Ann Stewart and husband Dick of Norman, Okla. His 19 grandchildren include Jessica Faulkner, Jason Faulkner and wife Jennifer, Ryan and Andreanna Stucker, James and Stephen Jones, Elizabeth McMillen and husband Mathew, Rachel Walters and husband Daniel, David Curtis, Lily Squires, Nicholas and Genessa Keyser, Allison, Katherine and Leslie Stewart, Haley Hutchinson and husband Brian and Ryan, Jessie and Lisa Dalgliesh. Phil’s sister, Mary Shoemaker and her husband Robert; two nephews, Ted and David Shoemaker; and his niece, Carolyn Shoemaker, all reside in Dallas.
