Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard Gully officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Andrews North cemetery with William Gonzales officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Apaseo El Alto, Mexico, and moved to Andrews in 1976 from Mexico. He was Catholic.

Gloria Looney Gothard
CRANE — Gloria Looney Gothard went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002. Mrs. Gothard was 60.
A lifelong resident of Crane, she was born June 24, 1941, to K.P. and Treva Looney, pioneer residents of Crane County.
She spent her youth growing up on the Looney Ranch and attending Crane schools, graduating from Crane High School in 1959.
She owned and operated Gloria’s Salon of Beauty for over 20 years before retiring in 1987.

Jack Gothard on Aug. 22, 1987, in Crane.
She will be remembered by all who knew her as a great humanitarian, friend and great cook, but most of all through her card ministry. She and husband Jack were honored in 1989 by KOSA-TV Channel 7 Red Plate Award, which at that time was given to people in the Permian Basin for deeds in their community.
A devout Christian woman, Gloria was a member of the First Baptist Church.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2002, at the First Baptist Church in Crane. The Revs. Jim Hester and Steve Baker will officiate the services under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home. A reception will be at the First Baptist Church following the service.
Private interim entombment will be at Resthaven Mausoleum in Midland with final entombment at a later date at the Crane County cemetery.
She survived by her husband, Jack Gothard of Crane; son, Kirksey Gregg of Houston; stepchildren, Traci and John Williams of Brandon, Fla., Nina and Monty Gothard of Andrews, Gina and Bill Hollweg of Miles and Lisa and Joey Rawls of Crane; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Erma Pearl Hicks
ODESSA — Erma Pearl Hicks, 87, of Odessa passed away Friday, March 1, 2002, at the Hospice House.
She was born Nov. 9, 1914, in Mills County. She married
Delbert W. Hicks on Dec. 31, 1933, in Mills County. He preceded her in death Jan. 21, 1974.
Erma was a wonderful homemaker and dedicated wife, a loving and precious “Mammaw” and great grandmother who spoiled and doted over her kids.
She is survived by her sons, James “Sonney” Hicks and wife Ima of Odessa and Bradley Hicks and wife Sue of Odessa; daughter, Beverly Ann Hicks of Odessa; sisters, Ella Cox of Goldthwaite and Reva Keating of Weatherford; grandchildren, Delbert Hicks and wife Cindi of Odessa, Gary Hicks and wife Chris of San Angelo and Jeff Hicks and wife Leah of Cross Plains; and great-grandchildren, Gage Hicks, Preston Hicks, Heather Hicks, Ashley Rubio, Jaeley Hicks and Shayla Hicks.
Public visitation and funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2002, at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite. Interment will follow at the Duren cemetery in Mills County.
John Adrine Gongre
ODESSA — John Adrine Gongre, 83, of Abilene passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, in Abilene. He was born March 20, 1918, to Johnny and Eugenia Gongre in Natchitoches, La. He came to Odessa in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
His mother, father and two brothers, James and E.C. Gongre, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Johnston, and niece, Janet Southerland, both of Odessa.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 a.m. today, March 2, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Walter Leon Goswick
KINGSVILLE — Mr. Walter Leon Goswick, age 61, a resident of Kingsville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, in Corpus Christi. Born Jan. 27, 1941, in Sweetwater to Virgil Goswick and Zona Shinn Franklin, Mr. Goswick was employed with Royal Wireline Inc. in Riviera as a sales engineer since 1996. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 1926 and was past district deputy grand exalted ruler.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lois E. Goswick of Kingsville; one son, David Eric (Billinda) Goswick of Amarillo; three daughters, Sherry (Mateo) Williamson of Midland, Donna Goswick and Diane Goswick, both of Kingsville; one half sister, Virganna Halbrook of the state of Texas; and four grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 2, 2002, at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel with the Elks Lodge officiating.
