Leland R. Stubbs
ODESSA — Leland R. Stubbs, 72, of Odessa, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, in Odessa. He was born July 7, 1930, to Joseph and Elgie Stubbs in Stanton, Texas.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with John Windham officiating.
Leland came to Odessa in the mid ’40s from Denton, Texas. He married
Alice Ann on July 12, 1952, in Odessa. He worked as a PBX repair man for Southwestern Bell, AT&T and Lucent Technology for 35 years before retiring in 1983. He was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge where he was 33-degree mason.
His mother and father, a brother Paul, a sister Dorothy Jones and a cousin Bill Sparks preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Stubbs of Odessa; daughters, Kay Macon of Odessa and Ann Stubbs of Houston; sister, Mildred Hart of the Woodlands; adopted daughter, Helen Pike of Kingman, Ariz.; grandchildren, Cheryl Isbell and husband Jeff and Mandy Haney and husband Rocky; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Michael Haney and Zachary Ross Isbell.
The family requests memorials be sent to Masonic Lodge Scholarship Fund and Hospice House.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Clay Randall Warren
PLAINVIEW — Clay Randall Warren, 18, of Plainview, a student, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at First Baptist Church in Plainview with the Rev. Dr. Travis Hart and the Rev. Charlie Warren officiating. Burial will be at Plainview cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lemons Funeral Home. Arrangements by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.
He was born in Albuquerque, N.M., but grew up in Plainview. He graduated from Plainview High School in 2002, where he played football for the Bulldogs football team for two years. He was on the Hale County Junior Literacy Council and an active member of the A Cappella choir. He was also a member of the Chamber Singers and active at the First Baptist Church Youth group. He was the recipient of the 2002 Bob Hilburn Scholarship and attended Texas Tech University as a freshman, majoring in business administration. At TTU, he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epislon fraternity.
Survivors are his parents, Mark and Freada Warren of Plainview; paternal grandmother, Helen Warren of Odessa; maternal grandparents, Sam and Lillian Thompson of Plainview; aunts and uncles, Shirley and Greg Lee of Arlington, Dale and Gayla Thompson of Amarillo, Stephanie Thompson of Plainview, Robert and Kathryn Warren of Denver, Colo., Charlie and Durinda Warren of Birmingham, Ala., and Kay Waggoner of Denver; 13 cousins; and a host of other family members and friends.
Martha A. Button
ODESSA — Martha A. Button, 84, of Odessa, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born May 8, 1918, in Clyde, Texas.
Mrs. Button moved to Odessa in 1955 from Seagraves. She was a homemaker and loved to do ceramics and go to the Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of the High Stepping Grannies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cecil Button in 1982.
She is survived by her son, James Douglas Button of Odessa; daughter, Paggy Jane Gaines of Midland; brothers, C. F. Shrum of Odessa, and Lee and Joe Shrum, both of Lamesa; sister, Thelma Grimes of Seagraves, three grandchildren, Christopher Alan Jacobson of Dallas, Matthew James Noble of Midland and James Michael Button of Chandler, Ariz.; and great-grandson, Tyler Button of Chandler, Ariz.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Franklin officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Blevin E. ‘Shorty’ Kimbrell
ODESSA — Blevin E. “Shorty” Kimbrell, 78, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born April 18, 1924, in Aquilla, Texas. Mr. Kimbrell moved to Odessa in 1942 from Brownwood. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired pipeline welder. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Disabled Veterans. He was a wonderful dad, PaPa and friend. His hobbies were fishing, visiting great friends and watching golf on TV.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Kimbrell; eight brothers; and a sister.
He is survived by his son, Ron Kimbrell and wife Pam of Odessa; grandchildren, Donna Crane, Deanna Dickerson and husband Desmond, Ronda Kimbrell and Rusty King; three great-grandchildren; and lady friend, Azilee Warren.
Pallbearers will be John Carraway, George McMillan, Jackie Rogge, A.R. Northcott, Rocky Anderson and Charlie Herron.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 24, 2002, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Oleta Faye Tullous
ODESSA — Oleta Faye Tullous departed this life Sept. 22, 2002, at Avalon Nursing Home, in Odessa, Texas. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jim Ray Brown will be officiating. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Geroge Jones.
Oleta was born in Sterling, Okla., on May 29, 1926. She married
Murrell Tullous on May 29, 1943, and she later moved to Odessa in 1947. She was a homemaker who enjoyed the outdoors, flower gardening, camping and traveling to Brady, Texas. Her many grandchildren were also a great source of joy for Oleta. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murrell W. Tullous; her mother and father; four brothers; and two sons.
She is survived by her two sons, Leonard Tullous of Queens Creek, Ariz., and Warren Tullous of Odessa; brothers, Gene Jones and George Jones; sisters, Eula Maye, Dorothy Jump, Zeola Rankin, Roxine Halbrooks, and Rosalane; her 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Albert Molinar Sr.
ODESSA — Albert Molinar Sr., 80 years of age, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born to Albert and Luisa Molinar in Terlinuga, Texas, on Dec. 29, 1921. In January of 1950, he married
Anita Flores and they had seven children.
He served his country in the U.S. Army in Normandy. His lovely wife preceded him in death.
Our father was a good family man who enjoyed life. His is survived by his sons: Albert Molinar Jr. of Odessa, Joel Molinar and his wife, Nydia, of Dallas, Oscar Molinar of Houston, Johnny Molinar and wife, Delma, of Borger, Orlando Molinar of St. Paul, Minn., Tommy Molinar and wife, Dana, of Odessa, Eddie Molinar of Odessa, daughter; Mary Mersmann and husband, Andrew, of San Antonio, brother; Antonio Molinar of Alpine, sister; Enedina DeAnda of Odessa, 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Rose Hill cemetery. Christopher Molinar, Johnny Molinar, Ben Molinar, Eddie Molinar, Dane Molinar and Andrew Mersmann will serve as pallbearers.
Lanham Thelbert Bains
CRANE — Lanham Thelbert Bains, of Odessa and Crane Nursing Home, died Sept. 18, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was 93 years of age.
Memorial services were held at the Crane Nursing Home Chapel on Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at 7 p.m.
He was a retired carpenter/contractor. His father, Samuel Jefferson Bains, who was born in Mississippi on Aug. 9, 1887, and his mother, Nellie Louise Bucy Bains, who was born on Oct. 2, 1891 in Cleburne, Texas, preceded him in death.
Lanham was married
to Ruby Oleta Spoon. She was born in 1919, and died Dec. 22, 1981. He was also preceded in death by his second wife of 20 years, Pauline Bains, on Dec. 1, 2001. He married
Zelma Gordon on Aug. 17, 2002, in Crane.
He is survived by his wife, Zelma of Crane; sons, William Randolph Bains of Houston, Walter Earl Bains and wife Frances on Anniston, Ala., and Russell Don Bains of Tyler, Texas; sisters, Jewell Belden of Odessa, Nellie May Lewis of Corpus Christi and Lillie Frances Schraeder and husband Arno of Corpus Christi; a brother, Curtiss Russell Bains of Hotchkiss, Colo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

J.D. Moore
ODESSA — Services for J.D. Moore, 77, of Odessa will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Emmitt Bernard officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Moore passed away at his residence Monday, Sept. 23, 2002. He was born April 11, 1925, in Denison, Texas, to John and Dicy Adline Moore. He married
Liz Easley on March 28, 1970, in Odessa.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan), Victory Ribbon and two overseas bars.
Mr. Moore drove a rig-up truck for Johnn Drilling until retirement in 1989. He was a lifetime oilfield truck driver.
He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He has been an Odessa resident since the early ‘50s, moving from Hobbs, NM.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gary Dennis Moore of Austin, Robbie Linton of Henderson and Tommy Linton of Burnet; one daughter, Linda C. Wier of Marble Falls; one brother, Marshall Thomas Moore of Pilot Point; two sisters, Viola James of Hobbs, N.M. and Bernice Sherman of Muskogee, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Gerald Leslie Hooper
ODESSA — Gerald Leslie Hooper, 84, of Odessa passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at the Veterans Home in Big Spring. He was born April 10, 1918, in Cass County, Texas. He was a long-time resident of Odessa and was transportation supervisor for CSI, retiring in 1982. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loraine Hooper in 1980; parents, Samuel and Earl Hooper; and brothers and sisters, Willard Hooper, DeLois Harper, Boyce Hooper, S.L. Hooper; and Opel Lee Vancil.
He is survived by sons, Jerry Hooper and wife Debbie of Clyde and Steve Hooper of Odessa; daughters, LaDonna Raglin and husband Jerry of Odessa and Kathy Hawk and husband Endgate of Clyde; brother, Don Hooper of Odessa; sister, Justine Bailey of Sundown; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Jeffrey and Rusty Thomas, Dustin, Brandon and Luke Hawk, Jerry Don Hooper and Casey Hooper.

ODESSA — Breana Nicole Singleton of Odessa passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, in Shreveport, La. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Ray Brown officiating.
She is the infant daughter of Dana Singleton.
She is survived by her mother, Dana Singleton; grandmother Sedona Lubkeman of Odessa; uncle, Chad Singleton of Odessa; cousins, Corgan Singleton and Jacob Singleton, both of Odessa; great-grandfather, Victor Lubkeman of Casper Wyo.; great-grandmother, Judith Langley of Elko, Nev.; and several great aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her cousin, Tyler Lubkeman.

ODESSA — Louise Bridges, 82, of Odessa, former owner of Slumberland Sleep Shop, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Odessa Regional Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Griffin Jones officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Huntington, Ark., and was a resident of Odessa since 1966. She was Baptist.

Harrold Rogers
ANDREWS — Harrold G. Rogers, 70, of Andrews, a retired roofer, died Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Permian General Hospital in Andrews.

He was born in Fannin County and was a longtime resident of Andrews.
