Eunice “Sarah” Jordan
ODESSA — Eunice “Sarah” Jordan, 88, our blessed mother, went to be reunited with her husband in Heaven on May 30, 2002, in Odessa. She was born Nov. 23, 1913, in Jewett, Texas, to Carlile Weasnier and Mila Ellen Sharp.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2002, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dick Brown officiating.
Eunice married
William Jordan on Jan. 2, 1929. They moved to Odessa in 1941. She was a Good Samaritan and was always willing to give a helping hand. She loved all her grandchildren. She was Baptist.
Her mother and father, husband, three sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
She is survived by sons, W.L Jordan Jr. of Lake Dallas and Roy Daniel Jordan of Cleburne; daughter, Thelma Lou Jordan of Odessa; eight grandchildren, William Jordan, Terry Jordan, Lou Ann Jordan, James Daniel Jordan, Lee Alan Jordan, Sarah Jordan, Timothy Jordan and Marc Jordan; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patsy Killingsworth of Houston.
The family requests memorials to Hospice House and Alzheimer’s Association.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Annie C. Scott
KERMIT — Annie C. Scott was born Sept. 2, 1906, in Benson, La., and passed away May 30, 2002, in Kermit at the age of 95. She was the daughter of Walter Ernest Nolan Sr. and Lula Sample Nolan, the fourth child of a family of four daughters and four sons. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings and her husband of 64 years, Bruce.
She is survived by her son, Robert Bruce Scott of Kermit; niece, Frances Nolan Avis of Fresno, Calif., whom she took into her home at the age of 12; nephew, Gordon D. Novelle of New Orleans; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly as she was the matriarch of the Nolan family.
Annie attended A&I College in Kingsville as a young woman where she received her teaching certificate and began her teaching career in Latin American School in Santa Rosa.
She married
Philip Bruce Scott on June 10, 1934, and they moved to Pyote where he was employed with Standard Oil Co.
During the years, they moved to several other West Texas locations, finally retiring and settling in Kermit.
In the ’50s, she enrolled at Sul Ross State College in Alpine and received her bachelor of science degree and began teaching in the Kermit school system where she retired in 1972, but continued to substitute for several years until her husband became disabled. She loved her students and had a profound influence on many of them.
Annie was active in the First United Methodist Church in Kermit where she served in many capacities. She was a member of the Garden Club, former president of the Monday Night Club and belonged to the Retired Teachers Association and American Association of University of Women.
Mrs. Scott was cared for by her dear and loving caretakers, Dora Diaz and Linda Kirby, for several years. Mrs. Scott’s family will be eternally grateful for the love and kindness shown to her by her caretakers and their families.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 3, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Kermit with the Revs. Beth Harrington and Henry O. Freund officiating. Burial will follow at the Kermit cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Cooper Funeral Chapel Inc.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Memorial Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 744 Jeffee St., Kermit, Texas, 79745, or to the charity of your choice.
Maxine Brewster
ANDREWS — Maxine Brewster, 80, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, in Andrews.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Andrews North cemetery with the Rev. Johnnie Miller officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Shamrock. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Blen B. Brewster of Andrews; daughters, Camella Jean Brem of Midland and Linda Miller of Andrews; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Martha Button
ODESSA — Martha A. Button, 84, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Franklin officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Clyde and moved to Odessa from Seagraves in 1955.

Eula Mae Florence
CRANE — Eula Mae Florence, 69, of Crane, a retired fishing marina owner, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, at her residence.
Graveside services were Sunday, at Crane County cemetery with Tommy Parker officiating. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born in Eastland County. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Husband, L.E. Florence of Crane; daughter, Barbara Ward of Crane; sister, Wanda Mullins of Ransom Canyon; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
John Hostutler
FORT STOCKTON — John Dennis Hostutler, 75, of Fort Stockton, a business owner, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, at Pecos County Memorial Hospital in Fort Stockton.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Assembly of God Church in Fort Stockton with Rev. Hopkins officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home of Fort Stockton.
He was born in Pawnee, Okla. He was a Navy veteran.

Johnnie Melton
BURNET — Johnnie Leon Melton, 78, of Burnet, a retired construction worker, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002.
Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at Northside Baptist Church in Burnet with the Rev. John P. Hopkins officiating. Burial was at Burnet City cemetery. Arrangements by Edgar Funeral Home.
He was a native of Burnet County.

Fred Acosta Dominguez
ODESSA — Fred “Chapo” Dominguez, age 86, of Odessa died Oct. 4, 2002, at Avalon Nursing Center.
He was born Feb. 11, 1916, in Marfa, Texas, to Vivian and Juanita Dominguez. His hobbies were woodworking, painting, fishing and playing cards. He was a happy man with lots of humor and love, who enjoyed being around family and friends. He will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
A rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Dola Dominguez of Odessa; daughter, Mary Sanchez of Odessa; son, Freddie Dominguez of Odessa; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Dr. John Sellers Rasco
ODESSA — Rev. Dr. John Rasco died Oct. 3, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Prattville, Ala., to William Austin and Glennie Sellers Rasco.
Dr. Rasco came to Odessa in 1954 from Texarkana, Texas. He was the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Odessa for 24 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Audrey Chartier of Odessa; brothers, Roy Rasco of San Jose, Calif., Tommy Rasco and wife Miriam of Birmingham, Ala., and Harold Rasco and wife Charlotte of Birmingham; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, John Chartier and his son Zeke of Las Vegas, Nev.; his daughters, Dawn, Christy and Toni, all of Richardson; Michael Chartier and wife Susan of Wiley; their daughters, Taylor and Heather and son, Kevin Chartier, all of Hurst, and two nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at First Baptist Church, with Revs. H. Bailey Stone and Curtis Brewer officiating.

Francisco Cano
ODESSA — Francisco G. Cano, age 77, of Odessa died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital after a short illness. He was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Ruidosa, Texas, to Andres and Teresa Cano.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2002, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Frey officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2002, in Barstow. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. today, July 25, 2002, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Mr. Cano married
Selia Rico on Oct. 5, 1958. They moved to Odessa in 1965. He was employed by B&B Construction for 20 years and by Sun Chrysler for nine years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
His wife, Selia Cano, preceded him in death in 1994.
He is survived by son, Frank and wife Elizabeth Cano of The Colony; son, Larry and wife Debbie Cano of Fort Worth; daughter, Linda Cano of Odessa; son, Henry and wife Ramona Cano of Round Rock; and grandchildren, Daniel, Christina and Derek Cano, Heather Griffing, Robert Llanez and Jennifer Ramirez.

Bill J. Eaton Sr.
ODESSA — Bill J. Eaton Sr., 70, of Odessa passed away Sunday, July 21, 2002, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born July 16, 1932, in Cromwell, Okla., to C.A. and Stella Eaton Sr. He married
Jana Lawson on March 3, 1952, in Snomac, Okla. He moved to Odessa in 1952 and worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 42 years. He was a member of the West Odessa First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chris Eaton; sister, Josephine Delmar; and niece, Jennifer Delmar.
He is survived by his wife, Jana Eaton of Odessa; sons, Billy Jack Eaton Jr. and wife Joanie of Monahans, Michael Wayne Eaton and wife Linda of Monahans and Lance Eaton and wife Toy of Crane; sister, Joyce Johnson of Park Hill, Okla.; five grandchildren, Michael Eaton and wife Jana of San Antonio, Joshua and wife Bobby Jo Eaton of San Antonio, Caleb Eaton of Monahans, Chelsea and Amber Eaton of Crane; step grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob and Joel Houseman; also three special children, Darla Townsend, Fred and Cruz Subia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2002, at West Odessa First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Howard officiating.

CRANE — Arthur “A.J.” Lane Jr., 49, of Crane, a retired mechanic, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Hospice House.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Crane with the Rev. H.A. Bowens officiating. Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Memorial Services in Odessa. Arrangements by Memorial Services.
He was born in Crane.

GIDDINGS — Shirley Ruth Simpson, 67, of Giddings, a registered nurse, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Seton Medical Center in Austin.
